I have also seen someone use Distress Oxides to color the paper dolls, but I love what you've done with the alcohol inks, and I REALLY love the tag you made. Thank you for sharing!
Hanny , 50 years ago I used to hand color the black and white portraits with special oils. Thanks for the memories! Marvelous
I just ordered a set of the Tim Holtz paper dolls and portraits. I am looking forward to making some tags. Thank you for a great tutorial.
Hi Hanny- love the idea of some coloring - Nice work - tfs - 👵🏻🎨❤️🤗👍
Beautiful technique, Hanny! Thank you for sharing. 😄
Great idea! Its like when they hand colored the old black and white photos.
Awesome! I use alcohol markers to color them. Same effect in case someone doesn't have the alcohol inks, they may have sharpies or another brand. TFS!
That's a wonderful idea. I have some of the tim holtz cut outs too.
Thanks. Very helpful. And nicely done.
So adorable!!! I have a small tote full of these. I think it's time to pull them out and give them a new life. Thank you so much. You are truly inspiring me to get back into arting more than just crafting.
I know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account..?
I was dumb lost the password. I would love any tips you can give me

@Brock Lukas I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now.
I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Brock Lukas it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you really help me out :D
@Julian Amir Glad I could help :D
If it’s too bright or dried too quickly maybe mix w/blending fluid or 91% alcohol? Thanks for this idea, so many possibilities. TFS♥️
Cute!
Coloring those are so cute. I absolutely love them. TFS
I love this idea tfs Hanny...Kia Kaha...
Very nice ✌🏽
Thanks, I never thought of alcohol inks. I tried to color some of the clothes when I used a Day of the Dead sticker for the heads for Halloween,/ Nov 1Mexican Celebration.
Great idea!
Very nice!
You should get Tim Holtz’s alcohol inks pallette that has a hinged lid on it so they don’t dry out
I was thinking the same thing. I do have it and they do dry but easy to reactivate w/alcohol. I never thought to color these with them though. What a great idea TFS♥️
Hi Hanny, super idea. I don't have alk inks so ill I'll try some water colors mixed with gesso. Wish me luck😉
Good luck! Sharpie markers work too...
Just love this idea, Tim Holtz said to use Matt medium first, wonder if that would work? You can get those hinged palettes from Ranger at Michaels for $5.99 each.
The matte medium first is if you are going to use a water based medium like watercolor pencil or distress crayon or watercolor markers/pens or watercolor paint to color with. You need the matte medium because the paper dolls are on slick paper and the color will rub off. Not so with alcohol or oil based ink(oil like StazOn ink pad). Also those palettes are great, you just put a drop of 91% alcohol or alcohol blending solution(which won’t lighten/dilute color) in to re-wet alcohol ink. 👍
Zooooo gaaf!
