My biggest gripe with Ghost Bear Legacy from the very first time I played it (bought it a few weeks after it originally came out), to now, is that unlike the original Mechwarrior 2, the required mech size for almost EVERY level was 100 tons. This meant that about 80% of the mechs that the game came with were completely useless, and if you picked anything less than a 100 ton mech, the missions were near impossible. Kinda got boring always using the big mechs.
A video of a game based on BattleTech, set to music from a game based on Warhammer 40,000. All you need is some soundclips from a Dungeons & Dragons game (Baldur's Gate, maybe), and you'll have the ultimate tabletop inspired game video.
God even that font takes me back! Plus this means I wasn't imagining the Warhammer and the Marauder being in the game. Now for some more research... Thanks!
@dobnits For some reason they did not add in the arrow IV's. I don't know why. I do know if Titanium and Battlepack they did fix this issue with the configuration.
@SirxMMPD I suppose if you're skilled, most anything'll work. :) I was meaning more so that, in the original, the maximum tonnage varied quiet a bit. Some levels were 55, some 65, some 70, some 80, some 90, some 100, etc. etc. and the adversaries they put in the levels were based off that. In Ghost Bear, it was 100, 100, 100, 100, 100.... (aside from a few I'm probably not remembering), so if you didn't take a 100 mech, you were already starting out at a disadvantage.
@wedgeant86 I always loved how it looked, but even in the original board game Technical Readout that it was first released, it was considered (and designed to be) a long range support mech. Not too great in an up front combat. Either way, I'd always just reconfigure it myself.
stone...fucking...rhino. nothing more to be said... ...warhammer was probably the one i used the most, though. i loved that mech. i also remember in the original MW2 you could unlock the mauler (great, great mech), the tiny little elemental which was loads of fun, and some 6 legged thing that looked like a spider. i miss this game :(
My reaction to Stone Rhino:
"JESUS CHRIST (that thing is huge)!"
Hence why the Inner Sphere military observers and personnel called it the Behemoth, a design that actually dates back to the Star League era.
The Warhawk, Direwolf, LInebacker, Gargoyle, Kodiak, and the Stone Rhino were my favorite.

I don't think Clan Gummy Bear knows what an incubus is...
STONE!!!! RHINO!!!!!

whats the deal with the Naga's primary config? Three small lasers and 20 Tons under?
The firemoth is my favorite mech to pilot for its crazy max speed while the rifleman is my favorite just based on looks.

Because the Clans haven't invaded yet in MWO, Ghost Bear Legacy is set 7 ~ 8 years after the invasion.
Stone Rhino looks like an absolute unit wow.
"STONE RHINO"
and now its in mwo. Its a sexy beast

@evilperson86u You can't get the IS mechs in the campaigns. You can only play them in the simulator sadly.

@milesaway1980 hmm i dunno about that depends. Watch the playthrough that I did. I used a firemoth on hard for most every level. It is not that bad
Stone rhino looks bad ass. Is it a good mech would you say?
2:55 ok now they're just makin up Names LoL
@milesaway1980 yeah your right
Where did you get this game? Like, this version?
stone rhino was the shit. loved ramming mechs with its jump jets.
WHY COULDNT THEY JUST ADD THESE TO MECHWARRIOR ONLINE?
The naga is a joke?
man, voice is not the same.
No IS mechs in 95/titanium (at least they aren't on my copy) :(
@wedgeant86 Not really. Never liked the mech much. Dire Wolf would be my choice personally
if only this was in netmech
executioner, direwolf, kodiak, STONE. RHINO. raven,
INCUBUS!
ebay.
