You are brave cutting all the way one direction getting the waste out. I’m afraid of breaking out the bottom face messing up the look. I will go 90% through, then flip it over for the last portion. Nice work.

Very nice. Have you thought to modify the block such that the saw is guided by a slit not just the edge? At the base of the slit you could drill a hole in order to keep the marking on the board visible.
