Reminds me of a "Steens" I had briefly with a Hodaka engine on it. Surprised to see your engine replacement choice. Beat and it and let me know if it holds up, lol. I wouldn't mind putting one of those on a Honda CL90 I have (but would like a clutch)
They are great engines. I have one on a chinese quad just like and never had any problems and its been very beat on. Iv fixed quite a few for friends that ran low on oil because of blown out gaskets. The timing chains get messed up sometimes too. They were all very poorly maintained. They are very cheap and easy to fix even if something catastrophic goes wrong. If they were cheaper id put them on all my bikes lol I got this one a few years ago on ebay for like 130. shipped it was a great deal.
Coo. When ya see it stripped down, makes ya wonder why people get so goofy about bracing of homemade jobbers that are MUCH stronger than these "passable" old motorbike designs. Which held up better than fine.

Awesome! I’m doing nearly the exact same thing!
Nice, I had a Rockford, but it was stolen. It was locked tight and full of water, so they didn't get much.
I dragged this one off the scrap pile at the junk yard 15 years ago the engine was toast. maybe its your bike lol
So beautiful
It’s alive well done

Neat swap for sure!
