It was Christmas #1. It’s not about Christmas. It was done in a studio in London. Nothing was shot in New York. Yes. This song was about safe sex. Love these girls.
Well, the background footage was shot in New York but the girls were shot in front of a blue screen, but yeah.
At the time, The Sun newspaper said that they had brought entire parts of New York to a standstill to film this 😂 Saw the article again lately and it's a hilarious read. Quite a lot of great shots of the World Trade Center, those plaza shots are amazing.

I swear the lyric is different on the album. On the album she says put it on put it on implying safe sex. Also the lyric sung by Mel B love will bring us back together is boys and girls feel good together. Edit: Never mind Emma says it later in the song.
For a sex song, it is actually remarkably wholesome. But I do find it mildly amusing that Emma sings all the filthy parts.
3:10 -- Where it now says "once again if we endeavor, love will bring us back together", it originally said "any deal that we endeavor, boys and girls feel good together." I actually don't think it was about inclusivity... the single version actually has better lyrics.
It fits the song better, because it's a sex song, but even more than that, it's a make up song. We're back together, we've forgiven each other and we're back at a place where sex is in the cards.

@@infin8reactions it was. Number 1 song all over the world. It's about Geri leaving the group. Spice Girls were so famous and respected because they wrote their own song and told the producers how they want each song to sound like. They went looking for a record company by themselves to show their music and they got reject by so many but Virgin liked their music and their personality. Back then even rock bands on MTV said they like the Spice Girls, they were the only pop singers that had quality in their music.
I have always loved Victorias singing voice. I know she is not the strongest. But her tone is just lovely.
It's also quite interesting that the album version, has Victoria sing different lyrics.
Any deal that we endeavour, boys and girls go good together.
Single version is definitely better.
