I was able to get mine on without removing the bottom cowlings. I did remove all the electrical connections which certainly helped a lot. But what I did was route the new belt around the crank first, then under the tensioner, then ensure it’s fully seated under the AC pulley (IMPORTANT because if it’s not the belt will not slip over alternator pulley when you take the tension off). I then moved the breaker bar forward as far as possible to take the tension off the belt and the belt slipped right over the alternator pulley.

Thank you so much. This is exactly the video I've been looking for for two hours. My Ody is due for a replacement belt, and all I can afford right now is the belt, the water pump's still good, at least for now. Everything else was including the pump and involved removing the front pass wheel, fender covering, and buying a specialty tool.
I'll be replacing my girl's belt in the morning. For now, it's too hot, too dark, and I'm too tired.

Good luck, would love to hear how it goes. The best advice I can give you is to have a second set of hands nearby, at least to help get the new belt on.

I just saw your video. Is their a reason you changed the belt or just wear and tear. ? What i mean is did you hear a noise or did something seem off. ??

Just being proactive. The pilot had about 150,000 kms at the time, belt was going brown, winter was approaching, and I needed content.

What type and size of plastic clips are those that hold the mud cover on?

Also, is it the same type and size as the one that holds the washer fluid tube to the body?

Wow, not much accessibility. Is there a special tool for the tensioner? Probably not worth doing on the side of the road? How long did this take? Mine is due and I may just have the dealer do it? Thanks for sharing!!!

Took me 3 hours, but that was while recording and figuring out how to make enough space to get my hands in there. If I had to do it again I'd be done within an hour, taking my time. I made the video so people don't have to pay the dealer $100+ per hour, give it a shot.
No special tools required. For the tensioner you can always use a regular ratchet with something over it for leverage,Iike a jack handle.
