You are such an amazing teacher. I always learn so much with every video. Thank you for your hard work in putting these videos together and sharing your talent. From a very grateful subscriber ☺
Just discovered you the other day. Have watched several videos. I greatly enjoy your way of teaching. Excellent information and insights, all to the point. "Sea Mist" is one of my most favorite pieces to play. Short but oh so powerfully sweet. Your interpretation is beautiful. Thank You for creating your channel.
Thanks for the tips..I am not a beginner but I do not have a P.h.D. In playing the organ.. Post some performance videos…I think it might expand your audience I have already practiced today and saw the title and had to click. You have very high quality content I will recommend this channel people to people seeking guidance. Have a nice day.
Truly, my piano teacher gave me similar advices. I went from struggling to play with both my hands last year to finishing diploma level pieces. (Big jump ik 😅😅😂😂)
Great points, thanks Susan. I'm going to venture a couple of Qs here since this is a new video... Do you think your SM admin might be able to post a screenshot or an occasional update of some sort on your content within your (paid) learning program, highlighting what may be new? For example I can't recall if Sea Mist is new from when I was a member a few months ago and I wondered if you had added anything else. Lastly, and optionally, do you have an opinion on the Henle 'at the piano' composer specific books? ....in comparison to Alfred's composer specific ones, not the 'First book of' series but J. S. Bach: An Introduction to His Keyboard Music, Scarlatti: An Introduction to His Keyboard Works, varied levels with some instuctive narrative as I understand. Recently I have become hopelessly obsessed with Bach....
That's a great idea! I will get with my SM admin (me) and let her know. I'm 99.9% sure that you were a member when I put out Sea Mist...Aside from new material from Faber Book 2, I have a new late-beginner tutorial (Danse Ancienne by Elena Gnyesina) and O Holy Night (late-beginner as well). Also, I'm not familiar with the specific 'at the piano' series you're talking about, but in general, the Henle editions are one of the best so I feel you can't go wrong!
@@PianoRoadmap That's great to hear Susan, I'm going to join for a month now and then just to check out your new content. I LOVE your approach and your extraordinarily empathetic voice. I am still wondering over the genius of your chord approach in your recent series!!!
Could you do a video as to why practicing "is hard"? I dont mean the physical work, I mean the mental stuff. Like we are all watching YT, instead of practicing!! Why do we put off this stuff, when we know we "should do" it. Children have there parents to guide them to go and practice, but adults, dont have that.
Great topic idea. It is weird, huh? But I guess adults do stuff that's a bit self-destructive all the time...I'm happy to give my thoughts on this in a future video (not a promise, but a very likely "yes").
@@PianoRoadmap Thank you!! The "lack" of accountibility is a big one for me. I feel like I need to "work" for my "teacher" and feed off theire energy. But if you do not have a good teacher who will push nicely, or dont have a teacher at all, this topic is a real struggle.😔 I will look forward to this video! I will go practice now.🤣
As a beginner these tips are super helpful .. problem solving has been key for me and it's so rewarding getting to the other side 🎉
I love this teacher. She has that certain something. ❤

Hello, and welcome! Glad you found the channel, and thanks for saying hi 👋
Great video. Very clear examples.
Thank you Susan! 🎹🎹🎹
Always such wonderful and encouraging guidance. Deepest thanks for your passion for teaching and for your life’s lessons.
So wise, so logical, so mildly said.... You're a great teacher ! Considering more and more a subscription to Piano Roadmap !
Thank you! 😊
Excellent tips, thank you!
Thank you. Really needed this! 😊
Is it ironic that I am watching a video about practicing the piano, when what I should be doing is practicing my piano
But...but maybe if we watch one more video about practicing THEN we'll improve? 😉
Story of my life. It's planting seeds though
Ten very valuable minutes.
Don't watch it more than twice. Don't interrupt it. Practice immediately after.
See? All good!
Same!!!🙄
Did you practice???
thank you so much for this Susan :)
You're welcome!
Thank you for the tips
