I'm scared of anyone who can't understand their morals are in large part a product of the time they grew up.
connery's example was "if youre trying to walk away from a situation and she keeps blocking your path, yelling at you, refusing to get out of your way, at some point you "give her a little slap". nothing about "remind her who makes the box office". the interviewer kept saying "so you think its ok to hit women?" after the third time, connery says "see youre doing it right now".
Everybody knows he is right and he is not walking around slapping women. He does in some ways tho ahah. People are just afraid to admit it. Fcking idiots trashing after this great man

@@rijlqanturis625 way to just ignore all the context. It didn't say ya know, trying to get away from a situation, or getting yelled at or refusing to let you leave. All you heard was .... "if she's standing where you want to go, slap her" 🤣 Nothing about trapping you in a hostile situation you're clearly trying to leave from sunk in. This is why conversations don't work anymore. People read/hear things and only register the 10 words they want.

Porsche technically did build some tanks, such as a prototype version of the Tiger I and Tiger II, but they were both rejected in favour of the design submissions by Henschel, which were selected for development. The hulls of some of the rejected Porsche Tiger I models were repurposed into a case tank destroyer called the Tiger (P), the Ferdinand, or the Elefant. They were prone to mechanical problems, and many were abandoned on the battlefield. The last tank Porsche designed in WW2 is known as the Maus. For pretty much all of these, Porsche fitted them with their hybrid gasoline-electric drivetrain. This hybrid drivetrain proved to be unreliable, and Porsche’s submissions for those design competitions achieved inferior mobility to their Henschel counterparts. I couldn’t find anything about BMW engines being used in German tanks. Nearly all panzers were fitted with Maybach engines, and apparently some had engines made by Daimler-Benz.

@@cheebees I do remember reading that BMW built airplane engines. Famously, the engines used in the Fw 190 series of fighters. However, my comment was focusing on tank engines.

Who made the engines for the Panzer tanks?
Created by Ferdinand Porsche, the tank was a massive 188 tons wall of steel, powered by a Daimler-Benz MB 517 diesel engine good for 1,200 hp.

Not to make things serious but it's also interesting to consider that Coco Chanel was almost 57 when Paris was occupied. Just listening to the joke I'd pictured a younger woman but she was grandparent age. Paints an even crazier picture.
Also just to clarify even more she was not shacking up with a nazi because she was scared and trying to get through a bad situation. She was collaborating with German officials long before any tanks rolled into Paris. She supported them because she was an outspoken anti-Semite who simply agreed with Hitler's rhetoric against the Jews.

You make a good point in the end - practically everyone would compromise their morality for safety and security when placed in a bad situation like that. Rather than judging those people, we should spend our time acknowledging the few who stood up and did what was right in the face of danger. Bonhoeffer, Schindler, the white rose, Christine Granville, Jean moulin, Nicole minet.

All German tanks in the France campain had Maybach engines. The exception were two models "acquired" from the Czech army that had Skoda and Praga engines.
I think it was mostly BMW in the airplane engines, Porsche was in tanks 😂
