Alfredo Enriquez cleans, snatch, for explosiveness in the finish and bench, incline, shoulder press, those kinds of things for strength in shotput, I did a video on lifting tips you can check out a few videos ago
Great video! I have a couple of questions about shot put if you could answer them please 1. As a high school thrower, how much difference would it make to start doing rotational throws? 2. Whenever I try the rotational throw, the shot put kind of slips off my hand. Are there any common errors that cause this?
Rad Dude I think a decent spin would go further than a decent glide but if you have an efficient glide you may not pick up any distance. I’d say the rotational throw on average will help people throw further in the medium and long term and glide may be a bit further short term. But everyone is different. As for the shot in the neck I’ve been experimenting with it the past week or so if you watch recent videos. And it took me 12 years to figure that out so I don’t feel too confident in hand position considering mine was wrong for a long time. Just got to find where’s comfortable and you can push straight
Hey do you have any stretches for the back? I was throwing shot yesterday and on my final throw I felt like I strained something in my back, so if you have any sort of stretches that would help I would appreciate hearing about them
LordO'Pies episode 45, called breaking down my technique I show a few of my favorite core activation exercises for throwing. Other than those exercises and other core strengthening stuff. I’d recommend seeing a physical therapist that can loosen it up if it’s muscular or give you exercises to specifically strengthen problem areas
LordO'Pies most back issues for me just require foam rolling, core activation, stretching and a couple days. But I’ve found a great physical therapist that helps me to diagnose problems and give me good exercises.
Hey JY, avocado man here. I’m a sophomore in Highschool and we don’t really have a coach for throws So I’m basically self-taught. If you could give one solitary tip/pointer that throwers gotta tackle, what would it be? Also, I love the content. Excellent advice and videos, love what you’re doing man. Keep it up! -🥑
You must at least turn 16 within the same calendar year the Olympic Games are held. That's not an issue with throwers, since there's next to no chance a 15 year old boy is good enough to qualify for the Olympic Games. An unusually talented girl, perhaps, but not a boy.
Sandya Sandya vijayan I’ve got a video about adding height to the throws you can check for that on my channel. But also the orbit of the discus and extension on the legs play a big role in getting height on the throw
Don’t really have time if I want to keep pumping out these videos and maintaining any kind of time for myself. But maybe someday if I decide I want to be more occupied.
Thanks for this video jy throwers 😘😘😘😘
JY, what are lifts that you recommend for explosive power at the finish and strength wise all the way around for throwing the shot.
