I bought asus tuf 17, 17.3 inch, 2 years ago which is working incredibly well. I am using it for programming and gaming. It already earned me around $40k already. It was around $1k when I bought it for the first time

My company buys me a laptop every year or so I love my desktop for gaming if I could only pick one I’d go with the laptop for me I use it a lot when traveling for work but if I didn’t need it for work I’d probably go with a desktop so I guess it depends on the person I wouldn’t argue with anyone’s opinion over what is better cause it depends on what you are doing and the person using it laptops do quite good for gaming too they have came along way

i agree, you dont need incredible specs to play most games and laptops are getting much better. i bought a tuf f15 for 650 without tax. rtx 2050, 16gb ram, 512 =gb ssd and a core i5 11th gen. im using it for gaming and studies. with good maintenance it should go a long way

Yes, there's a lot of misconceptions about laptops not lasting long which is not really true!👍

i couldn't agree with you more ❤ i have seen many others saying that gaming laptops are too expensive so that money you go for gaming laptop can be used to build desktop gaiming PC while having full modular + ability to upgrade everything etc. let me explain: i'm *not* against anyone using both desktop & laptop nor only using desktop, that's for their preferences. but for any others' suggestions about building PC instead of buying laptop, i don't listen to them. all laptops have different ranges for various demands so aren't their pricing, and gaming laptops are not an expection, too. not all users have enough free time just to sit 24/7 for just gaming on gaming desktop in its default place, and somes who have to travel more often, but they still need computers for work/study, even coding, rendering, gaming etc everywhere. i have no doubt that gaming desktop PC can be made more powerful than any kind of laptops, even gaming ones, or opposite to it, but not all users would use 100% performance just for simple tasks, like i said that it depends on users' demand, so choose wisely before going anything else. you may not need to go for expensive high-end models, nor low-end ones, same things you can say to gaming laptops, so it is better to end up going for balanced p/p (performance per price)

@@hermezxThe biggest one is they have less perf than desktops. that's not always true. With gtx 1000 laptop gpu's were within 1 to 3fps of the desktop ones. With rtx 2000 that was increased to 5 to 6fps. Sure, ots weaker, but not by much. With rtx 3000, only laptop 3060 had similar perf to desktop. Rx6600m, 6600mxt, 6700m, 6650mxt also had perf very close to desktop. Rtx 4060m is on par with desktop 4060.
what people don't realize is nvidia artificially limits laptops just to fool and scam people.

previously i dreamed so much on getting a gaming PC, as i thought myself that not only making my own specs depending on my demand should be a good idea for me but also i wanted so much about being a true, or sth like "ultra computer enthusiast", yes i really loved building PC but it wasn't much easy to make myself think about that, not because of lacking budget nor not having ability to build, but time consuming combining the fact that i have limited free time for school (i'm at 2nd year of university) so i ended up going for laptop plan instead. it may not let you upgrade CPU, GPU, and RAM on some laptops, along with limited thermal cooling for lesser thickness, but in my opinion, by having good specs, the laptop can last you such a long time without compromising. everything is all in one in it such as screen, keyboard, trackpad, speaker, and more, while maintaining its portability, i can bring my laptop everywhere and everytime for use, from entertainment, study, some kind of rendering, to gaming despite not my priority ☺️

Same situation as well just like you, i would say that's one of the best decisions you've made! I don't even see a reason anymore to go back to PC builds, with laptops, everything is perfect already! These devices like laptops are actually a huge upgrade on life and obviously a win for us, users! 🥳

Good video. I just want to add a few points.
Display: OLED is way cheaper on laptops. Like the vivobooks. That too, 90 to 144hz oled's. Infact, even $450 to $500 vivobook 15's can pack a 1080p 60hz OLED. On desktops, you cannot get that for cheap. Infact, in the US for around $1200 you can get a 2.8k 120hz OLED vivobook with a 130w rtx 3060.
Upgradability: Gaming laptops have their components relatively easily replaceable. For instance, display, keyboard, storage, ram, motherboard, trackpad, etc. And among portable devices, gaming laptops are the most upgradable and repairable which is a huge bonus for long term use. Infact some have replaceable cpu's.
Useage: Gaming laptops can function as laptops, desktops, consoles and portable consoles. Even if you don't move around, just taking your gaming laptop to your bed is very nice
Temps: A laptop gpu is not much hotter than the average PC's gpu. Cpu is going to run hot sincw intel and amd removed undervolting on most laptop cpu's. You can also repaste a laptop and prop it up to boost temps.
Warranty: Laptop warranty covers the whole device, rather than custom built pc's. So if something wrong, its the company's headache. Not so on custom pc's.

@@hermezx Yeah, you did a solid video. But I believe maybe due to video time constraints you've had to skip over some details.
For example, while a PC might be faster, its not that much faster several times. GTX 1000, the laptop gpu's were 1-3fps slower than desktop gpu's if not matching or even beating them. RTX 2000 were within 5-6fps of desktop equivalent gpu's. Gtx 1000 and rtx 2000 also had desktop and laptop gpu's being the same. Same specs. Just different tdp's. Rtx 3000 and rtx 4000 largely don't do this.
Before you say that its due to thermals and TDP, gtx 1080/2080/2080s/rtx 6000 quadro all could have 200w of TDP. Rtx 6000 quadro also had 24gb of vram and was a larger chip than the desktop 4090. Now? The ''4090 mobile'' is just a desktop 4080 chip and its not even 200w. Despite laptops having much better cooling nowadays, its got barely 175w TDP.

@@hermezx Unfortunately amd, intel and nvidia take full advantage of the fact most laptop users aren't well informed and rip us off and people either don't care or defend them.
Look at gamer nexus video on intel's presentation where intel says amd is selling old cpu's as new. GN says intel does the same. They fail to point out intel just proved amd and intel both sell you old crap and are just as bad.
I'd LOVE for you to make a video just informing people that gtx 1000 and rtx 2000 had laptop gpu's close to desktop. And how intel/amd removed undervolting. Etc. They should know,

Try Hitfilm Express or Davinci Resolve, it's free (idk about the DR) or editors such as Adobe Premiere Rush, Capcut and so on, but if you're going on serious editing in the future, they would still do but Adobe Premiere Pro would be the best choice but you need to spend some money per month.

Sure, gaming on battery Mode is currently on works but to give you a heads up, that's how it works, decreased performance on battery mode is normal whether you have it on "standard" on Armoury Crate, not really sure about that 6 fps, but 100% sure there's a way to improve that!
