Let's be honest. Its either a campfest or a yolyofest. There's no strategy anymore. Hardly anyone uses a mic anymore either. No one cones to assist you if your in touble. You see 4 of your guys on a corner and two on their side of the corner. So they just sit there and dont push. No map awareness, so you drive half Way around the map to come over. Go around your four teammates and push the side. Unbelievable!. As for the maps, don't get me started on that. If we had as many maps as we do need new tanks every week, you'd hear nobody complaining. But we pay the money for the service. We pay the money for the tanks. You think they could do one new map a month?. And not a reskinned one..Come on wargaming really..
There are still those that use the mic, but all they do is bitch and moan and curse at the rest of the team and belittle them, ironically, they typically die first as well. It’s rare to have a mic user that gives constructive messages
It's now just lock on, no aim & shoot rubbish. Just played 6 games for 6 losses. Even being the last man standing is no reward. Wasted grind, wasted time...bit over it to be honest.
Great vid Eclipse. I’d agree pretty much with everything there. Personally I think maps like Liberty Falls, Province and Wide Park were reintroduced as a very lazy way for Wargaming to say ‘look, we listen! We give you maps!!’ When the reality is that they are small low tier maps not at all suited to high tier. I’m happy to see them and I’m glad they’re in the game, but they should be capped at tier 6 maximum. They really do need to stop spending all their efforts on plugging ever more overpowered premium tanks, and instead set those resources towards sorting out the issues the game has. Maps are definitely one issue - we need more, but bigger ones better designed and tested properly so one spawn doesn’t get an advantage over the other, and the space in the maps is usable. The matchmaking is absolutely awful too. Not only do you seem to get randomly assigned to teams doomed to loose every game but you end up with so many blow out losses within less than 5 minutes. That’s not fun at all! The +2 -2 nonsense needs binning now too. I wouldn’t mind so much if there was something that assigned you into a -2 game but that would guarantee you won’t be -2 the next game(s) but you (or I seem to anyway!) just end up in constant bottom tier games where your only there as cannon fodder for the top tiers… again, that’s not fun at all! Either do it fairly or don’t do it at all and use +1 -1. Finally, they desperately need to do something about the use of premium ammo. It’s getting ridiculous now where it’s actually unusual for a player not to use full premium ammo load outs! It’s not helping this either that there’s so many UA-cam streamers doing it and then everyone watching goes and copies that. Even top tier players are just spamming premium ammo and there’s very little need to! Again though, it just deals yet another disadvantage to any players at bottom tier as it means any armour is completely useless and you’re dead in two shots. That’s not fun at all. Why not put the price of premium ammo back to gold currency only to put people off using it or at the very least only allow a load out of a restricted amount of premium ammo, say 15% of the total ammo capacity or something so it’s there if it’s needed but it will make people think about how/when to use it. Trouble is, typing all that was probably a waste of time really as Wargaming almost certainly won’t listen or act on any of it. Unfortunately.
Bushes on console are horrific compared to pc, sparse and disconnected + not always consistent. Would love to see maps get bushier and allow more skill expression.
I actually think the volume of bushes on console is down to a limitation of the older gen console (PS4 & Xbox one) as they can't handle more than so many assets at 60fps plus. But the camo they provide is much worse seemingly than pc even when they are there.
🛑🛑 Hidden Village is another map that is small if you ask me. Most of that map is basically inaccessible. There are so many, what I would call “heavy tank brawling maps”, where players without armor can’t really play.
I agree with u on some things certain maps should be for certain tiers only. And they should do like world of warships +1/-1 game play. I have a problem with playing now and enjoying the game because 87.3 % of the time I am low tier on map and lately I spend more time on teams that just literally are 47.3% win rate. And train onside of the map. And I really hope wargaming will durning season offer more skins for tanks and commanders that u earn. Also hope they will add three more skills to commanders and another equipment slot for all tanks
We don't need more Maps, we need balanced Maps and reasonable spawnpoints. The dev's should copy the Maps from WoT PC, they are much better balanced although not perfect either.
I have been saying that way back when we never saw the updated maps PC got because we still had Xbox 360 being supported now it's gone we are still on updated bugged maps and lets not forget the ones Console devs created those maps make a lot of tanks useless and create imbalances on tank selection because of it.
Came back recently to the game after a year or 2 not bothering. Was surprised very few new maps been released. Worse even is the rotation that limits it even further
At this point, I would prefer no maps get removed because with limited maps the game can get a bit stale. I totally agree that Wide Park, Province, and Liberty Falls (and Mines) can be a challenging to play in the higher tiers, but challenges can be good. I do wish they would modify all the small maps to make them larger. For example, keep the center portion of Ghost Town, but add the exterior portions that PC has. I personally dislike the new community-designed map (can't think of the name). I also don't play Cold War, but I would love to bring the Cold War maps to WWII mode.
I think the console mantra of, “we are not PC” hurts them when it comes to game assets like maps. I’d rather have 90% of the PC version of maps vs the versions we have on console: Pilsen, Ghost Town, etc.
I am relatively new at wot having a few (3-4) months under my belt: I don't play above tier 5 because it's "not as much" fun. I like to move and most of my fun tanks I use are all tops in their concealment within the 2-V parameter. I also only play WW2. I am a simi-full time player. Retired guy ;)
I agree the small maps like province don't work for high tier. New maps with the new meta need lots of cover be it hills buildings anything to hide you from the alpha TDs.
I wouldn't mind seeing Nebelberhg played on the large version with maybe 20 tanks per team. There would be others as well. A pre mission briefing might be good, the PC game has this and allows load and kit choice before game. D-Day style missions, take A,B and C. I'm sure that the community could come up with all types of feasible, fun ideas
Would love some old maps to return but not just added back but changed good example was scorpion pass was small but when it returned as hayufa pass its bigger. Good maps I still miss is windstorm and paris. Some maps that can't remember some from war stories era. Wg can't argue as they added back 2 maps from war stories with a total of 3.

Great Vid! Glad to see you back on a more regular basis. I have a suggestion. How about a series of videos using all the maps showing areas that are good starting spots in a match. Perhaps one or two maps per video. Instead of tank reviews and weekly updates this would be a fantastic addition to your content. i have been a follower for a while and the series of instructional vids a while ago that you did was great and very helpful. I think that would be very helpful to all abilities of players. Please fill a niche that I believe is really needed.
I will try my best. It may be that it will be in a couple of weeks as I'm currently still working full time but will be part time soon to have more time for the videos 🙂
I've said it before new players have no idea where to go at the start of a match.why can't we have the main battle points on the start screen to help the team deploy better!
Province is terrible for slow super heavy tanks cause you're basically stuck on your side of the map when you start off and if you try to cross to the opponents side you get lit up by snipers lol. The Japanese heavy tanks struggle like the O-Ho and it's really unfair to be glued to a certain position.
You might say skill issue, but I'm so used to cod and Battlefield and Halo pacing. I get impatient waiting for my teammates in wot to push, they just sit there not wanting to push or help it's bad when your light tanks don't want to scout, they just sit back with the Tank destroyers in the back and snipe no one wants to push because their afraid of getting one shotted I blame WG for that, they do not want to fix MM and they don't want to nerf op premium tanks they just want money. I don't like most of the maps on WOT.
I think tanks sitting back and sniping including lights, I think MOE plays apart in that. Some people would rather play hide and seek and lose the battle than play objective and win. As long as they get the damage in they don't care

I mean, what is the point of trying to improve in the game if the game will put you in a team that will determine the fate of the battle in advance? Losing or winning ten times in a row is not fun and It seems that the developers do not understand this, and to this day I still cannot understand why the developers decided to make things go this way. I mean, what do they gain from this? Why don't they make the game like other normal competitive games in which the best team wins only fairly? Just Why not?

First, the maps reside on the client; e.g. the console! this is one of the reason why you have a finite number of maps available, because they cannot have all the maps in the rotation, they would take up too much space. Second, I play a Tier III tank which has a very limited radio range. On some of the larger maps, I lose sight of the allies and the enemies. This is a tank that was released a long time ago, when the maps were smaller. Obviously, WG's priority is not to address such issues. Third, limiting the maps you have access to, based on what Tier you are playing is another way for WG to try to push you to play the Tiers were the premium tanks are released and can be purchased. Always keep in mind that before anything else, WG is here to make money.

I wanted to watch the last battle to see how Swindle and Randy Duck did. Haha. The smaller maps suck when they are on rotation and they give you a tank destroyer op. War Gaming should base the rotation on what ops or contracts they are doing.
With true vision, these maps you speak of are even worse you can see from one side of the map to the other with no problem, and with heavy tanks capable of 70kph the maps are ridiculously small in Cold War, they need to be at least double the present size, with say 2000m minimum up to 4000m or even 5000m, at the moment you're on the enemy position in seconds of the game start and you can't manoeuvre because everyone is crammed into too small a space, if your team lose a flank the games over in seconds because the enemy are right behind your other flank immediately, fast light tanks can circumnavigate the entire map in less than 20 to 30 seconds
One shot campers are a bit of a problem too. As is being cannon fodder aka 2 tiers down. But yes, please, some NEW maps i.e. *develop* new maps we haven’t seen before. Not regurgitated old maps they’ve brought back. Last new maps I saw was when they introduced Cold War. Take a break from new tanks and give us new maps. Please. Pretty please… with sugar on it.
I would prefere big maps with 2 spawnpoints on each team like old scorpion pass and some more big maps most of the maps are just made for light tanks anyway and that shows in the amount of light tanks in every singel battle more so in coldwar I think the game is more or less boring due to the arcade style over strategy.
I find the mobile version of wot also needs a massive map rework. but not because of map rotation, but because 90% of the maps are fundamentally flawed; even the ones that have been in the game for 8-10 years. because its a 7v7 and faster, smaller by nature, map design has a heavy influence on how games play out. many of the maps are designed in such a way to where whichever team has more mediums/lights has an extreme advantage before the game even starts. and even if the matchmaking is even, if the medium tank or heavy tank flank falls, the game is literally over then and there beyond repair. additionally, so many of the maps offer little to no flexibility. unless you take your medium to the western corner of the map, youll lose or wont be able to do anything etc. it often leads to stalemates. first person to move or try to actually make anything happen dies.
The maps are definitely part of the problem but they wouldn’t be nearly as bad if camping wasn’t incentivized 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ camo and spotting have become so ridiculous that why wouldn’t most people camp?? Not to mention that almost every gun in the game is under .3 accuracy (something that was pretty rare back in the day). I’m super unicum and can’t stand a good majority of other good players bc they just abuse the poorly designed game mechanics and are too braindead to actually play smart smh. I still love this game and I think there’s certain things that are better than pre 6.0 (or whatever update that was) but there’s definitely a lot poor choices that wargaming has made 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
The average player pens 1-2 shots per game. The average player in WoT is quite literally brain dead. They make yet to the majority. The game is dead as far as competitive or strategy goes. Its goal is to pander to the ingrate. And they do it solely
My thoughts 21,000 battles in, Fjords is ass. Mali, Prok, Heilbronn, Redshire, and Snake River are good. Berlin, Himmelsdorf, and Ruinberg are pretty much the same damn thing and somehow I always get them back to back to back. The rest of the maps are ass and the rotation stinks. Dragon Ridge is pure ass. I agree that they should just design maps that are relatively flat where every tank class can have the potential to excel and this would make the matches awesome. Instead maps and the rotation are killing the fun in this game.
you know, if they returned the UI of the base game back to what it was pre-2016 and made the "modern armor" update a separate section of the game, so many people would actually go back to the game

I dont understand the hate on province at tier 10. The middle is playable with lights and can amount huge amounts of assistance if played right. Mediums can take c1 (north spawn) and j9 (south spawn). Then heavys and tds can go to those places aswell. I think the problem is more people not knowing how to play the map than it being bad. Thats just my opinion through.

I think the 2 or 3 maps that are labeled small need to go back to original large scale. They are much better maps in large scale.

I like community maps besides Azure Coast, that map is easily my least favorite.
With true vision, these maps you speak of are even worse you can see from one side of the map to the other with no problem, and with heavy tanks capable of 70kph the maps are ridiculously small in Cold War, they need to be at least double the present size, with say 2000m minimum up to 4000m or even 5000m, at the moment you're on the enemy position in seconds of the game start and you can't manoeuvre because everyone is crammed into too small a space, if your team lose a flank the games over in seconds because the enemy are right behind your other flank immediately, fast light tanks can circumnavigate the entire map in less than 20 to 30 seconds
One shot campers are a bit of a problem too. As is being cannon fodder aka 2 tiers down. But yes, please, some NEW maps i.e. *develop* new maps we haven’t seen before. Not regurgitated old maps they’ve brought back. Last new maps I saw was when they introduced Cold War. Take a break from new tanks and give us new maps. Please. Pretty please… with sugar on it.
I would prefere big maps with 2 spawnpoints on each team like old scorpion pass and some more big maps most of the maps are just made for light tanks anyway and that shows in the amount of light tanks in every singel battle more so in coldwar I think the game is more or less boring due to the arcade style over strategy.
I find the mobile version of wot also needs a massive map rework. but not because of map rotation, but because 90% of the maps are fundamentally flawed; even the ones that have been in the game for 8-10 years. because its a 7v7 and faster, smaller by nature, map design has a heavy influence on how games play out. many of the maps are designed in such a way to where whichever team has more mediums/lights has an extreme advantage before the game even starts. and even if the matchmaking is even, if the medium tank or heavy tank flank falls, the game is literally over then and there beyond repair. additionally, so many of the maps offer little to no flexibility. unless you take your medium to the western corner of the map, youll lose or wont be able to do anything etc. it often leads to stalemates. first person to move or try to actually make anything happen dies.
I don’t have a problem with small map end of day win or lose and I don’t want a big map

The maps are definitely part of the problem but they wouldn’t be nearly as bad if camping wasn’t incentivized 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ camo and spotting have become so ridiculous that why wouldn’t most people camp?? Not to mention that almost every gun in the game is under .3 accuracy (something that was pretty rare back in the day). I’m super unicum and can’t stand a good majority of other good players bc they just abuse the poorly designed game mechanics and are too braindead to actually play smart smh. I still love this game and I think there’s certain things that are better than pre 6.0 (or whatever update that was) but there’s definitely a lot poor choices that wargaming has made 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
If battles go longer than 5 mins wargaming loses money we have 15 min battles on consoles same as pc why the smaller maps?
The average player pens 1-2 shots per game. The average player in WoT is quite literally brain dead. They make yet to the majority. The game is dead as far as competitive or strategy goes. Its goal is to pander to the ingrate. And they do it solely
My thoughts 21,000 battles in, Fjords is ass. Mali, Prok, Heilbronn, Redshire, and Snake River are good. Berlin, Himmelsdorf, and Ruinberg are pretty much the same damn thing and somehow I always get them back to back to back. The rest of the maps are ass and the rotation stinks. Dragon Ridge is pure ass. I agree that they should just design maps that are relatively flat where every tank class can have the potential to excel and this would make the matches awesome. Instead maps and the rotation are killing the fun in this game.
How about new maps that’s the problem. There are no new maps. They’re all the same old damn shitty maps. I’ve been around since the beginning of time.
I like all maps, no problem for me ;]... it is something new and fun on Province.
you know, if they returned the UI of the base game back to what it was pre-2016 and made the "modern armor" update a separate section of the game, so many people would actually go back to the game

Final year as premium time runs out and done with ghost rounds, server spikes and loss of connection. Gross Monetisation says it all. Get rid of the jungle airfield map. While we're at it, Kaunis and Dukla Pass are basically the same map. It's just lazy
I dont understand the hate on province at tier 10. The middle is playable with lights and can amount huge amounts of assistance if played right. Mediums can take c1 (north spawn) and j9 (south spawn). Then heavys and tds can go to those places aswell. I think the problem is more people not knowing how to play the map than it being bad. Thats just my opinion through.
