I need to respond to this comment by saying that most of the things you see about the US in the news and mainstream media are not true. The majority of Americans are not prejudice/racist and the majority of Americans don’t have Islamophobia. Are there people that are racist and Islamaphobic in the US…of course. But they’re a small minority, and the reality is that there’s people like that in Indonesia and all over the world too. I point this out not to “pick on you” but just to remind everyone that unfortunately misconceptions about people and places are commonly spread throughout todays world. You can’t believe everything you read these days, and you have to be careful when making assumptions about a place unless you go and experience it for yourself. This is why I believe traveling is so important. It opens up your mind and really allows you to see and experience the world firsthand. All of this even pertains to Indonesia and Islam, as there’s many inaccurate ideas spread about both, which I’m sure bother you and many others. I, as an example, have learned through my travels in Indonesia that some of the negative things I’ve heard about Islam and Indonesia aren’t true. Unfortunately traveling can be expensive, challenging, and not accessible for everyone…trust me I understand this and know how lucky I am. But if everyone had the opportunity to travel, the world would be a much different place. If you take anything away from this video, I hope you’ve learned that it’s not only my childhood that has shaped who I am, but also my travels. The reason I’m so humble, open minded, and willing to to engage with different people is because of my travels around the world and throughout Indonesia. And for that I’m incredibly grateful. (Interesting fact also…you didn’t see this in the video, but there are Christians, Muslims, and Jews that all live on my street. Everyone lives in the neighborhood without any problems and is respectful of each other. That’s something that the news and mainstream media won’t show you.)

Bahannya susah bro.... Ada bahan2 yang adanya cuma di US. Untuk bahan2 gampang busuk/perishable seperti saus, susah importnya. Rasa Subway di Jakarta aja beda dengan rasa Subway disana. Ada yang kurang rasanya.

Rob, thanks for sharing your life story and family with us. Can't believe you were a puddle pirate at one time haha. I used to live in the US and been to NYC a few times. Definitely miss the Mexican food ( since I lived in Oklahoma/ Texas area) and definitely miss the bagels. My favorite is definitely pastrami on a bagel. Usually go to Jewish kosher deli since they also don't serve pork. There's a few Indo restaurants in Queens. You should do a taste test to see if it's authentic Indonesian. I was a puddle pirate, can't believe you know that term hahahahah and yes I miss the mexican food from my time in California. There's some decent spots in Bali but nothing nearly as good. I visited the Indo restaurants in Queens and Manhattan so stay tuned for those videos 👌

I didn't do much traveling around the US, just spent time with family and friends in New York. Those pizzas makes me hungry... I can imagine how good that would be... The crunchy bite sounds appetizing. I think I prefer those pizzas than bagel. Unfortunately, there are not many options for authentic pizza restaurants in Indonesia, the most commons are only domino's & pizza Hut. I know both came from US but I doubt they still have the authentic taste like original Newyorker Pizza... There are some pizza restaurants that I think have more authentic taste but they're not famous... Oh and I also can go without rice, just eating pizza works for me...
So I haven’t really explored the pizza scene too throughly in Indo, but there are a few good places in Bali. They have the traditional Italian style of course. There’s also a place called Manhattan slice. They even had someone come in from NY to help them perfect their recipe and ingredients. That place is great but expensive. Jogja has a few decent places and I’ve yet to really have pizza in Jakarta.

So sad that I just found your channel a couple days ago. When you said that you arrived in Bali 2 days before Indonesia closed its borders, at that time I was about to apply for my US visa to begin my internship program in the US. Well long story short, I had my 12-month internship in Old Westbury Garden, Long Island. This place is about 17 minutes away from your home. When I watched your video, I felt like reminiscing again to Long Island. I really had a great time in my life when I was in Long Island (that was probably one of my greatest times). The houses, the road, the shops, the garden, the beach, the season, the food, everything!! Thank you for sharing the video, Rob! Now I live in Bogor, West Java. Next time you should visit Bogor. Thank you for showing us your country. As Indonesian, I always think US suburban and small cities are beautiful, and you guys have beautiful forrest and mountains. Tbh, all I know about American suburb and cities mostly from movie or TV. For example, 'Supernatural' tv series (about 2 brothers adventures and solving supernatural/horror mysteries in American suburb and small cities, basically adventuring just The Lost Boys 😉). And Twillight series (don't judge meh 😂), Oregon and Washington states (especially the mountains and the pine forrests) looks very beautiful in that movie. The beach, the snow (we don't have snow here, of course), historical sites and the Indian resevation, Bella Swan's cute American style suburb house. Something like that.

I point this out not to “pick on you” but just to remind everyone that unfortunately misconceptions about people and places are commonly spread throughout todays world. You can’t believe everything you read these days, and you have to be careful when making assumptions about a place unless you go and experience it for yourself. This is why I believe traveling is so important. It opens up your mind and really allows you to see and experience the world firsthand. All of this even pertains to Indonesia and Islam, as there’s many inaccurate ideas spread about both, which I’m sure bother you and many others. I, as an example, have learned through my travels in Indonesia that some of the negative things I’ve heard about Islam and Indonesia aren’t true. Unfortunately traveling can be expensive, challenging, and not accessible for everyone…trust me I understand this and know how lucky I am. But if everyone had the opportunity to travel, the world would be a much different place. If you take anything away from this video, I hope you’ve learned that it’s not only my childhood that has shaped who I am, but also my travels. The reason I’m so humble, open minded, and willing to to engage with different people is because of my travels around the world and throughout Indonesia. And for that I’m incredibly grateful.
(Interesting fact also…you didn’t see this in the video, but there are Christians, Muslims, and Jews that all live on my street. Everyone lives in the neighborhood without any problems and is respectful of each other. That’s something that the news and mainstream media won’t show you.)

Rob, thanks for sharing your life story and family with us. Can't believe you were a puddle pirate at one time haha. I used to live in the US and been to NYC a few times. Definitely miss the Mexican food ( since I lived in Oklahoma/ Texas area) and definitely miss the bagels. My favorite is definitely pastrami on a bagel. Usually go to Jewish kosher deli since they also don't serve pork. There's a few Indo restaurants in Queens. You should do a taste test to see if it's authentic Indonesian. Those pizzas makes me hungry... I can imagine how good that would be... The crunchy bite sounds appetizing. I think I prefer those pizzas than bagel.
Unfortunately, there are not many options for authentic pizza restaurants in Indonesia, the most commons are only domino's & pizza Hut. I know both came from US but I doubt they still have the authentic taste like original Newyorker Pizza... There are some pizza restaurants that I think have more authentic taste but they're not famous...
Oh and I also can go without rice, just eating pizza works for me...
So I haven’t really explored the pizza scene too throughly in Indo, but there are a few good places in Bali. They have the traditional Italian style of course. There’s also a place called Manhattan slice. They even had someone come in from NY to help them perfect their recipe and ingredients. That place is great but expensive. Jogja has a few decent places and I’ve yet to really have pizza in Jakarta.

When you said that you arrived in Bali 2 days before Indonesia closed its borders, at that time I was about to apply for my US visa to begin my internship program in the US. Well long story short, I had my 12-month internship in Old Westbury Garden, Long Island. This place is about 17 minutes away from your home. When I watched your video, I felt like reminiscing again to Long Island. I really had a great time in my life when I was in Long Island (that was probably one of my greatest times). The houses, the road, the shops, the garden, the beach, the season, the food, everything!! Thank you for sharing the video, Rob!

Tbh, all I know about American suburb and cities mostly from movie or TV. For example, 'Supernatural' tv series (about 2 brothers adventures and solving supernatural/horror mysteries in American suburb and small cities, basically adventuring just The Lost Boys 😉).
And Twillight series (don't judge meh 😂), Oregon and Washington states (especially the mountains and the pine forrests) looks very beautiful in that movie. The beach, the snow (we don't have snow here, of course), historical sites and the Indian resevation, Bella Swan's cute American style suburb house. Something like that.

Rob, Cheyne and Antonio just need a cool ride for their adventure in Indonesia, and then blasting Dangdut, you know, for the vibe. Hahahha.
