Having a good QB and RB on offense and LB and Safeties is next. The most important feature a WR can have is to reliably catch the ball. The number 1 need for Ole Miss in 2024 was an OL/ Run game. Make all the personnel changes you want. One thing that definitely is NOT changing is Lane Kiffin's inability to maintain consistency in his offensive scheme and play calling. His strategy against KY bore little resemblance to that against Duke, for example. Ole Miss has achieved historic results under Kiffin, and I'm thrilled that we have him. But ALL coaches have their Achilles Heel, and Lane's is a tendency to play around with the offense when he doesn't have to. Field goals win games, but often Kiffin seems to forget that. It's almost as if he doesn't feel validated when defense wins games. He wants to prove to the world that he's an offensive genius. And he's just not.
If Lane pushes the game planning and play calling or try to make him into a Jackson Dart. If they do any QB will not do well. OL OL OL. This is what makes you a champion or not. In the SEC you have to have 8-9 OL plug and play type or you will never create a solid unit. OM and the Lane Kiffin Offense DO NOT DEVELOP PLAYERS PERIOD. Evidence would be the 4 OL that were in their 2nd year, didn’t really see the field because they were not "ready" even though they had the length and weight we wanted.
