He is my all time number 1 british fighter, if he had led a clean life i feel he would of been one of the best in history. His son for me are not in the same league, i know he says there better than he was maybe in discipline but as hard a puncher and pure Verosity there is no comparison.

Just seeing this comp has brought me to tears. I remember watching the Benn v McClennan fight live on ITV as a teenager, and watching McClennan getting counted out on one knee, then walking back to his corner on strong legs, and I remember thinking that something's not right. Then watching the close-ups of him in his corner, blinking, holding his head in pain.......so, so, sooo sad :(

Back in the day I scouted Nigel Benn for a well known fighter (no names), but it would have been a big fight (and it was not Roy). Benn was well known, but fighters don't base shit on popularity. After watching Benn, I knew there was NO WAY the fighter I was scouting for could beat him. So I had a way with words when conveying messages like this. My report to his camp was three words: 'He's an animal'. I never heard back from that camp and was worried I'd pissed them off. After the McClellan fight, he sent me a wine and cheese back with only the words "Thank you" on it. Ha ha Real shit
One of my biggest heroes, back in the day (still is! ) I don't think he gets the appreciation he deserves, tbh. Did so well to rebuild from the shattering early losses against Watson and Eubank, too. Went on to have a sensational career. Such an exciting fighter, those Big Ben chimes before his ring walk, still give me goosebumps, today... 😂😮

What a mixture, a kid who went and got made into a man in the army yet still had the attitude of a London yute. I am such a NB fanboy, I don't give a fuck, I even seen him DJ and he was useless at mixing but he's my favourite fighter ever.
I remember watching Ben in my teenage years. God he was awesome. I was a soldier, Benn was ex forces, I backed him all the way, my brother supported Eubank. Interesting times! Loved how Bruno was screaming at the side of the ring during the McClelland fight, it seemed like such an impossible task. The odds so stacked against Benn, the man had the heart of a lion. Was sad to see what happened to McClelland after the fight, no boxer should have that happen too them, but I guess that's the risk they take..a brutally lonely risk.

Makes today s boxing look mediocre . nowadays no characters, no excitement, no heart, we were all spoiled during the 80 s and 90 s so many good fighters in all divisions. It seemed like there was a great fight on every couple of weeks back then. Carl Froch for me is/was the only fighter worth watching in recent times. Miss those Saturday night fight nights x

I remember watching Ben in my teenage years. God he was awesome. I was a soldier, Benn was ex forces, I backed him all the way, my brother supported Eubank. Interesting times!
Loved how Bruno was screaming at the side of the ring during the McClelland fight, it seemed like such an impossible task. The odds so stacked against Benn, the man had the heart of a lion.
Was sad to see what happened to McClelland after the fight, no boxer should have that happen too them, but I guess that's the risk they take..a brutally lonely risk.

When he fought Michael Watson my uncle drove all the soldiers down in a mini bus he wanted an armed guard to the ring of all his old soldier mates awesome. Yeh he was awesome a total fucking animal well missed he made ricky hatton look like mary poppins lmao........

It seemed like there was a great fight on every couple of weeks back then. Carl Froch for me is/was the only fighter worth watching in recent times. Miss those Saturday night fight nights x
