    Thank you so much for this video! My baby is 5 months old. I got sick 2 weeks ago and noticed a decreased in milk supply. Pumping confirmed my fears, I was barely getting 1 oz from each breast! I was so confused and stressed out that I even begin to complement with formula 😟. After watching this video everything makes sense now. I’m back to exclusive breastfeeding🤗.

    Dearest Summer, thank you so much. Have been exclusively pumping for 4 plus months now & baby is still in Nicu. I am sick & saw my supply drop & milk becoming more thicker ;) Now I know why. I wish that it was enough but I work harder to get out more as she needs a certain amount in Nicu. I exclusively breastfed all my other 3 and when I was sick they never did. And even if my boobies were empty they got what they needed. Nicu is hard. But I am thankful for God’s provision a freezer stash. And your video’s have helped and encouraged me in my pumping journey and emotional support… I have recommended your channel so much. You are a beacon of hope , thank you. From a South African mamma - Blessings to you ❤🌷

      Thank you so much for writing to me! What a journey you’ve been on for the last 4 months and how different than with your older 3. NICU life is so challenging. Way to go to you for such dedication and commitment! The power your milk is giving your baby is really incredible and un-matched! 💪💛

    I’m 4 weeks postpartum and sick, not so much baby, but I’ve been sleeping through my early a.m. pumps/feeding. Also supplementing with formula since I’m just not making enough. I’m really fearful that I won’t be able to get my milk back, even after watching this video. I barely get an ounce when pumping, it’s definitely not enough for him.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  10 місяців тому

      Being still so freshly postpartum means you can still work on your baseline supply. Most importantly you’d want to pump or nurse at least every 2-3 hours especially over the middle of the night hours. That nighttime stimulation (12:00am thru about 8/9:00am) is when your lactating hormones are highest and if they aren’t stimulate then it can very much negatively impact our supply, making it very difficult to produce a full supply. 🩷

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  Рік тому +1

      Within 15 minutes of a mother being exposed to a pathogen (germ, virus, illness, bacteria etc) her milk will have specific antibodies, antivirals, antibacterials to protect her baby. Within 15 minutes!!!!!

    I'm currently sick and on my period. I was pumping 2-4 ounces on average per session and 4-7 ounces in the morning prior to all of this. Now I'm getting 1-2 ounces and towards the end of the day around a half ounce at a time. My baby is 5 months old. My supply has been like this now for 3 days. Is my baby going to be okay getting so little? I worry she's not getting enough and it's harming her not having more milk.

    Such great content!! Thank you for sharing! Found your channel after pediatrician advised me to supplement my 3 day old newborn(4th breastfed child) because she lost 12 ounces since birth. This is not the video i found that confirmed my lógic but it was so timely...i continúed breastfeeding, pushed 'follow up appt back a week she gained every oz back and then some..so much the pediatrician was shocked. And my mama heart was so happy when he asked if supplemented and i said only breastmilk😋 lol. Also, im not crazy about this pediatrician, i digress. Thank you!

    I wish I came through your video earlier.. My baby is 4 months old now. For the first 2 months, I had very low milk supply and baby couldn’t exclusively breastfeed..
    And the Entire 3rd month, I was down with COVID and didn’t get proper information that I could feed baby since my doctor said there are varied opinions to feed or not.. Since he wasn’t so sure, we got scared and didn’t breastfeed..
    After 3rd month, I was left all alone to take care of baby and I just had drops of milk only.. But, I everyday put her on my breast, but still the baby drinks the same amount of formula..
    It would be really grateful if you could please give me an insight if I could atleast breastfeed her exclusively for the next 2 months till I start solids. And to continue breastfeeding until the baby stops on her own. I really wanted to exclusively breastfeed the baby.. And I regret each minute for not able to do it..
    But I will not stop trying.. Please suggest..Thank you

    On my third successful breastfeeding journey until I got sick this past week. My baby is 11 months and supply absolutely has tanked within a few days and I’m not even letting down at all. He’s been patient for some feeds, and others I am pumping but not expressing hardly anything. Also “power pumping” in between, again with no luck of any milk. All I took was regular mucinex a couple days in a row and some ibuprofen. I’m so worried my supply will be gone forever but this gives me hope. In your experience, do you think my supply will be okay? Thank you for this video.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  Рік тому

      Mama, you’ll be just fine. I think you should watch this video to give you some perspective. ua-cam.com/video/_kejSat1kRQ/v-deo.html At 11m, there would be absolutely no reason to power pump, most women stop pumping at 1y pp during their workday but keep nursing on weekends and nights when they are home. There would be no reason at this stage that you’d not be able to recover from this illness and should be able to continue to breastfeed for as long as you wish. Just trust your body to do what it will do and for your baby to manage it well. He will do the work needed. ♥️

    Thank you for this video. My baby is EBF and is now 12 weeks. I battled Covid for a week and still breastfed on demand as normal and my breast no longer leak and do not feel full. I'm now on the road to recovery. Im wondering how long it will take for the milk to come back like it was prior? I have not pumped because I know it will stress me out if I don't see any milk. This has been such a struggle for me I'm so close to giving up 😞 even though I don't want to.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  9 місяців тому

      Ahhh! Did you know that breast fullness has nothing to do with how much milk you make? And actually soft breast make more milk? Leaking doesn’t mean anything about supply either. Usually our supply regulates around 6-12 weeks and that means women stop feeling the surges of fullness and softness. They just always feel soft and the milk supply is still there, unchanged. Linking some videos for you.

      It is reccomended by all the maternal, fetal and pediatric organizations to continue to breastfeed even while a mom is Covid-19+. The immunities that pass thru the breastmilk are incredibly important for the baby to receive and helps protect them.
