      True... 3d printing has resurrected my passion for RT era. I used to buy alot off ebay but the prices got crazy - I have a lot of 3/4 or 1/2 models so being able to print replacement parts is awesome

    Great restoration! You could always take a cotton but or some cotton wool, soak it in some iso alcohol, and rub the primer off the stand. Just an idea 👍

    I enjoyed the video and I subscribed! I was into warhammer for a few years in the mid 90s, I have a space wolves army in a box somewhere at my parents house that I now feel a sudden urge to take the 5 hour trip to retrive and start restoring, thanks!

    Those new contrast paints where probably the best thing GW has made.
    They’re not as transparent as the old ones, and their vibrant colors are so amazing!
    Not to mention the fact that Baal Red is slightly orange, really makes it a beautiful “Blood Angels Orange” change.

    Great job. I got one of these from a haul of bits someone's parents gave away, 2mm of enamel paint on it. Stripped it and repainted now it's the best boy of my HH Iron Warriors army

      That's so cool! I imagine the iron warriors would use it as a scout/spotter for their artillery or as a punishment detail vehicle. Would like to see this!

    Hi, I'm new to w40k. I've just began reading the Eisenhorn series they have just used a speeder in the story so I just searched that and this video popped up. Cool video! It looks really cool:)

    As an aside, the carpet/box cutter you used at the start of the video, is exactly what I used to cut my 2nd edition starter set out of the sprue 😂

    First video I've seen from you. Found it while looking for more inspiration for my own blood angels. Fantastic video! I love the retro scheme. I tried something similar out myself and it's such a fun way to paint.

    That's a nice conversion! It brings back memories of what we used to do back in the 90's, personalising and converting our vehicles was a lot of fun. The banner came out really nice too!

    Amazing, a blast from the past. I faced this Landspeeder in Space Wolf form many times against my best friend who joined the hobby with me in the 90s. My Eldar and his Space Wolve had massive battles often.

    You can rub the spray paint off the flight stand easily enough, just dab a little plastic glue (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) on it to soften the acrylic and wipe with a paper towel. A touch easier than just scraping with a knife. Also Silly Putty can work great as a masking agent .

      Great tip Benjamin! Good to know for the future if I slip up again. Putty is awesome - I've used it when spraying camouflage on guard tanks in the past.

    Priming metal minis is always a favourite part of dealing with metal minis, theres something really amazing being able to see all the nice details primed, since its a bit hard to see when its not primed.

    Another pleasant video. The beginning of unboxing that retro goodness was exciting and wholesome at the same time. I felt an overload of nostalgia despite the fact that I know 40k since 7th/8th edition but I just love the 90s vibe. Looking forward to seeing all those boxes covered in your videos of consistantly improving quality each upload.     You might be able to strip the paint off the flying stand with a drop of isopropyl alcohol, the back of a hobby knife, and a little bit of care. Any scratches in the stand can be gently filed smooth and varnished to hide the texture.

      Good shout! Maybe one day I'll have a crack at this. As it is, it doesn't bother me too much, but I did feel like a right Muppet for priming the model without considering the flightstand!

    It's weird. I started 40k in 9th edition (warhammer in general aos 2nd edition). I have no interest in trying the old editions like 2nd since they just seem too complicated for me but for some reason I just love watching vids about it.
    It's like a very specific history thing.

    Like how you bulked out the original what parts were used and where? I sort of know both kits but your use of both together? What gets glued to whst would be nice to know as it does look great as a super big air support.

      Hey Zargon! So in the end it was only the 1994 Land Speeder Engine block pinned to the back of the model. Nothing else was altered at all. I played with using the newer crew, but they were far too big! Glad you like it - it looks quite imposing - fitting for as I believe it is regarded as one of the best units in the SM list - provided it doesn't get whacked out of the sky in turn one!

      Just had it on a longplay vid on from UA-cam for a bit of background interest. Never actually played it though i think my Amiga 1200 back in the day probably could have handled it. Looks like an amazing game.

    I remember that old Land Speeder model from the 1990's it was a major pain to put together unless you did a lot of pinning. it is one of the only miniatures that I had from back then that I did end up getting rid of it just not to standard and the newer model was better.

      Kind of you! Yes, looking at it in the cold light of day I'm not as annoyed at myself as I was earlier. Still, I won't be using it for anything 'big' again.

      @@edpaintsminis definitely agree with you in regards to using it on larger vehicles. One piece of advice I give myself in painting though is after I'm done painting is to put it away and look at it a day or two later I find that it helps because you don't see the flaws as big as a problem as you did when you're in painting mode.
