fun fact, to this day when Foreigner plays a concert they bring in local high school choirs to sing back up in this song and then they donate a portion of that night's ticket sales to their program. They had a concert locally to me and my son's high school choir was chosen. It was pretty awesome.
That is a fact for sure. Actually, when they came to my hometown of Thunder Bay, Ontario, there were choirs at a couple of local high schools in the running to help with this song at the concert. I think it was the choir from St. Ignatius High School who was chosen to do it. Someone put a clip from that on UA-cam at one point, but I'm not sure if it's still up or not.
It was epic going through my teen years listening to this and all the power ballads...on the floor next to my boom box, crying over assorted boys like I knew the first thing about love or pain. 🤣🧡
I saw these guys live in Huntsville Alabama when this tour hit....80something...memory fails....they brought out the entire Alabama A&M choir and shook the joint to it's foundations with this!!! To this day, my favorite performance of any song I got to see live!!
Oh my God, I love Foreigner. They were the first Rock band I owned an album (yes, I am THAT old). I won the Foreigner 4 album at a middle school dance. They offered me a pick of four albums, but I didn't know any of the bands, as I'd grown up listening to country music. Someone behind me said "Wow, they have the new Foreigner album!" So I picked the Foreigner album and it turned me on to Rock music.
It's still hard to believe that Foreigner is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lou and Mick was inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame a couple years ago.
The coolest part of this video for me is that, during the whole thing, it shows people doing their regular jobs, getting on a bus and then you realize that those people are the choir that closes the song out. This is so much different than the usual Foreigner sound and, of course, it went straight to Number One. The video (like a lot of 80's hits that were shown on MTV) sold the song, for sure.
This song was used as a pick up line when I was in school...and a time or two it actually worked. As a side note, Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" is a great song that includes the choir sound as well as his love for world music.
I kind of get the feeling that this is more of a prayer to God in a song because is obviously that is not talking about erotic love or even friendship love is more like the greatest love of all the kind that sacrifices himself for those he loves, like Jesus showing his love for his creation on the cross to pay the debt of our sin so we could spend eternity with him forever.
Heyyy Billyyy!!! 😊 I think a great song by Foreigner that you would enjoy is called That Wás Yesterday. GREAT song and the lead singer SINGS this song!! So much feeling!
I don't think he's talking about just the love between a man and a women he's talking about love between mankind and the greatest love of which is from God.
I know you have a huge backlog of requests, but if you like powerful songs with a chorus backing up the singer, you NEED TO check out "The List Ving Years" by Mike & the Mechanics. Even if you don't react to it, it's a song you should experience.
Dude, I usually don't mind watching you react, but Damned it you screwed this one up. Watch yourself again on this one , and next time, KEEP QUIET. We can hear the words, you don't have to repeat them. The song was mostly about bringing blacks and whites together.

Big facts. This video is powerful, especially in this climate.
That background singer that got your attention is Jennifer Holliday! ❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻
Wow I didn't know that,thank you ☺
Loving this 80’s kick you’ve been on. My mom is a huge Foreigner fan so lots of great memories of her listening to this when I was growing up.
"Urgent"- "Juke Box Hero" "Hot-Blooded" are also songs you should check out by Foreigner.
In case it hasn't been answered (I didn't see it), that was Jennifer Holliday and the New Jersey Mass Choir of the GMWA on background vocals.
It was epic going through my teen years listening to this and all the power ballads...on the floor next to my boom box, crying over assorted boys like I knew the first thing about love or pain. 🤣🧡
We've all been there, girl :P xD

When you see them in concert, the whole arena is singing along and it does go forever.

Juke Box Hero and Waiting For a Girl Like You are my favorite songs from Foreigner 4, in case you want to listen to more Foreigner.
I remember being in middle school and dancing to this in the school gym, and couples roller skating to it. I'm old I know lol
That was an awesome reaction Billie! Awesome old song that never gets old. ❤️❤️🙏
Man i saw this video a few months back and I want the love that we had for people back then to this day
it's a great feel-good song.
The most beautiful part of the whole song is when the choir shows up and seeing the joy on everybody's faces as they are all singing
Great ballad! React to George Michael - "Careless Whisper", Chris de Burgh - "The Lady In Red", Jennifer Rush - "The Power Of Love".
I've seen a lot of reactions to this song, yet your reaction was the best!! I've always loved this song!! Thank you!!
you should react to "Foreigner waiting for a girl like you" that was on the footloose sound trek LOL
It's still hard to believe that Foreigner is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lou and Mick was inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame a couple years ago.
Gotta love the New Jersey Mass Choir for singing background for the band.

Always brings a tear to my eyes
I feel like this is a song you can sing to God, and it works AMAZINGLY for worship.
Nobody ever mentions their song Head Games. I think it's one of their best songs.
They made a Shriners Children's Hospital video using this song. They had kids from the hospital in the video. Make you cry for sure
Timeless classic
love it foreigner was the first concert I ever went to !
This is a great song by a great band
One of those songs that the words are so profound and meaningful. Incredible.
Love Lou's voice. Had a health issue that took him out of commission for a while. Not fond of the new guy - sorry but lou is foreigner
Lou will always be the heart of the band.
Agreed! 💪💪💪
Incredible song 😊
I think Lou was talking about asking God to show him what love is and wanting God to show him.

It would have got special a lot faster if you wouldn’t have talked so much whilst it was playing!!!!
I am afraid you missed part of the point of the song. It is (also) a song against race discrimination.
Dimash. Across Endless Dimension.
You talk too much through the song... Maybe you should comment at the end lol
Sorry.
Ok 🤷🏾♂️
Man did you ruin a great classic by acting like a preacher! You need to LISTEN!!!
Dude, I usually don't mind watching you react, but Damned it you screwed this one up. Watch yourself again on this one , and next time, KEEP QUIET. We can hear the words, you don't have to repeat them. The song was mostly about bringing blacks and whites together.
