Oh my goodness this made me laugh!!! As a native English speaker (steadily adding German as a 2nd language) I know that to speak "politely" in English we add so many more words than necessary for a simple comment or request.. I'm likely exhibiting this in this comment... 🤣

It could be a regional thing. The people of Norway are the same way unless while out in nature. Even then, it's kept very succinct.
