Charlie Hopkinson is a comedic impressionist, impersonator, voice guy, whatever you want to call it who specialises in voices from current television shows and films. His standup is a character act about a retired maths teacher, his standup set includes impressions of Sir David Attenborough, Robin Williams, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Peaky Blinders, Tommy and Arthur Shelby and Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.
Always looking to update my roster I look to try out subscriber suggested impressions in the impressions challenge series before honing the best ones. Recently I have added Peaky Blinders and Marvel / Avengers characters to my arsenal!

I started learning impressions in 2012, at the age of 20. You can follow my full impressions journey in my new ‘How to do impressions’ tutorial series
After graduating from the University of Warwick in the summer 2013 he took 4 months out to concentrate on UA-cam videos full time, including producing his most viewed video to date ‘Morgan Freeman and 40 other impressions’ with just over 12 million views. This foray into being a ‘full time UA-camr’ was cut short as he went travelling for 3 months before starting a 2 year teaching Graduate scheme with Charity ‘Teach First’.
While teaching he has performed in and narrated the 4 episode series ‘Lookalikes’ as Morgan Freeman. The show and the narration received a positive reception. The show aired on Channel 4 during the prime time slot of Friday 10pm for three weeks. It is now currently available on Netflix. Charlie also performed with other well known impressionists for an unaired pilot.
Charlie has worked for several prominent brands in relation to their products, including google and formula 1.
Since the summer of 2016 Charlie has once again dived into the world of UA-cam, for the first time producing content on a weekly basis. He is also focusing on live performance; he has performed in live venues a total of 3 times to date.

I didn't hear the "He was thinking of starting a band." part on my first watch. Haha. That Duran Duran ref. was kingly.
For all we know that person got the ref. minutes after asking. Even obvious refs. can be easy to miss in the right/wrong state of mind.

I mean, you didn't point it out but watching this video made me realise that her questioning Halbrand for "readily abandoning his comrades" is a bit rich when she tried to abandon one of her subordinates at the beginning of the first episode.

Guyladriel swims across an ocean, and survived an volcano eruption. The utter breaking of lore is an oversimplification. Amazon also broke the laws of physics.
Oh, and since Halbrand is Sauron, he just saves someone that is hunting him. Even though it would be a better idea to just let her drown. Would've made this show a little better
Technically she only swam across half an ocean, given that she gets rescued by two ships and taken to Númenor, which is canonically JUST in vision range of Tol Eressëa on a clear day.
As for the volcanic eruption, Amazon came out and said "Yeah we know it was ridiculous but we wanted it to look cool." - which tbf I actually respect, because I don't watch Lord of the Rings movies for perfect scientific accuracy. Constantly seeking perfect realism and obeisance to the laws of physics can get a bit boring. At least this example looked hella dramatic, unlike Legolas Mario-jumping up falling rocks in The Hobbit.
Finally, Sauron at the beginning of the Second Age was actually pretty outwardly repentant and felt like the death of Morgoth was an opportunity to start anew and make up for some of the damage he caused... however given the extent of his crimes, he was pretty sure he was gonna get the book thrown at him and he would spend the rest of eternity rotting in a cell, so he ran instead, and given the absence of any good Maiar therapists in Middle Earth, combined with the fact that EVERYONE cursed his name, he quickly fell back on old habits. Him saving Galadriel at the start of this is - at least in the show's logic and truncated timeline - his feeble attempt at a redemptive act.
Alternatively, if you refuse to see it that way, it is a manipulative tactic to gain himself a powerful ally who has no knowledge of who he truly is - which works out perfectly for him, given that she procures him an army and reconquers Mordor for him, while also giving him access to Celebrimbor and the ear of the Númenorean Queen.
This parody's writing's a hundred times better than the actual show.
Yes, this is great. Although it's not really hard to make something better than the cringe of power. I'm sure my little nephew of 8 can make a more compelling and cohesive show with a shoebox and cardboard characters.

I really enjoyed the scene where Galadriel jumps down from the rafters, picks up a water pitcher, throws it on the ground, walks on the broken glass, and says "I'm too strong! I'm too motivated!" Gave me chill bumps

The CGI is pretty rough but the voices and the mouths are really well done. That actually sounds like Ian McKellen. All the voices sound good. The floating heads are a little off-putting but you're doing your best and I'm sure you don't have unlimited resources or unlimited time. 😊

the amateur writers wanted to copy lord of the rings so bad, they had their guyradial start going to the undying lands, then change her mind just like arwen did in steve jackson's lotr. except they had to have guyradrial do something more spectacular, like change her mind right at the gates of the undying lands.

The Blue Wizards he is referring to: twins, do actually appear in the second age, the only Istari that do, they are sent to look for Sauron, the stories differ on their fate though, some say they got tied up in the Eastlands, others that they came back and reported that there was a new Wendys in Rhûn. We shall probably never know...
Sorry aside from Sauron the Black of course, the master of Necromancy, and a great beleiver in undead meat based food.
