    @griiseknoen 7 років тому +6

    Wow! There was a lot of heart in this intro-jam! I love how they took Richie's song "My Angel", that already is kind of a Purple Rain tribute in itself, and then made the Prince elements even more pronounced in their solos. A beautiful homage to both Richie and the Purple One.

      I see ppl talking about Kemper everywhere, could you explain to me what the heck is it xD ?

    • @orlock20
      @orlock20 7 років тому

      Kempler is a company that makes high end amps that can mimic specific amps plus add effects like other modeling amps. Instead of buying an amp, one could download the sound it makes or copy the sound of an amp one already has but it too expensive or delicate to take on the road.

    • @trollfiddler
      @trollfiddler 7 років тому +1

      It's a horrible modelling amp. Sounds like a tin can but ok if all you play is high gain fuzzy noise.

      Worry not, 'Remember' has a chord progression Richie used in like at least 5 different songs (in the same key!) :D
      I especially like when live Richie plays the ending of "Let's Say Goodbye" at the end of Remember because it's basically the same song :)

    Got a very Prince-y vibe from that intro jam...lovely playing guys, although not as beautiful as that Telecaster Joss was playing

  • @johncrafton8319
    @johncrafton8319 7 років тому +1

    The neck pickup is the DiMarzio Twang King - a pretty nice single-coil with really clear lows and highs. If you find the standard Tele neck to get muddy in the mix, the Twang King will pierce right through it.

  • @mbreinin
    @mbreinin 5 років тому

    That is the single best intro jam ever recorded on Anderton's TV. The tone Pete got from that Strat is, well, unreal. I found the video because I was looking for a video of the Kotzen Tele, but that Strat and those licks just floored me.

  • @duckfootguitars76

    Anyone else have Richie Kotzen, Big Wreck, John Mayer as a dream gig? It'd never happen, but I feel like a G3 type set of shows would have the most insane end jams and the tastiest collection of licks ever experienced by man or beast.

    Why is it, that every piece of gear with Richie's name on it becomes an absolute winner? He is so specific about what he wants for his tone. And still it's something, a lot of guitarists can agree on. He has such a great ear for tone.

    Nice jam but for everyone who wonders, I'd like to point out that the tune is from Kotzen's song "My Angel" so the jam was patterned into Kotzen's solo in that song as well. Richie is truly an amazing artist.

    i really often take time for andertons vids, what i miss since the early beginnings is a clean sounding amp,- for ex. rob's test, even with volume rolled down, there always is a huge amount of distorted sound. Fender- tests in generell are comparable. Today we have a few seconds clean sound at 11.22..;-)- greets & rock on

    I honestly do love the channel! I say this purely as someone that has watched for years.. Enough blues! Metal gets a bit of a look in which is cool, but jazz? Funk? Classical? Punk? Fusion? So many other styles of music and harmony, sometimes I feel I'll pull my hair out if I hear yet another blues lick! And please don't say, don't watch then, I very much enjoy the channel and want to watch, just sick of the same styles being over represented!
