I get it's a demo so they're going to use their amp, but it'd be more practical to hear them through a more typical pedal platform as that's the intended and most likely use. Not many people are going to have a marshal and decide to get marshal style distortion from a pedal.
100% - back in the day I had a bluesbreaker and I played it at the store through a marshall jcm and it sounded amazing, brought it home and it didn't sound anywhere near that
More is more. And the 59 is an awesome pedal platform. Definitely would be good to hear it through a Powerstage, a V4 or Bassman, and a 6505. But hey, it’s all Marshall today.!
I'd throw a Katana in there for good measure if that were the point of the video. That said, I still think it's silly to criticise them for using a Marshall product into a Marshall product
took them long enough to make their own plexi in a box style pedals. Agreed that these are bad demos though they should have used a clean Fender style amp. A marshall pedal into a marshall amp is obviously going to sound like a Marshall....
Na vdd o som do Marshal n vem apenas do cabeçote mas tmbm do gabinete. Nao tem como soar como um marshall em um fender. Seria o mesmo que usar um cabeçote da marshall com alto falantes da fender.
If I could’ve bought one of these for 119 bucks a few years ago and plugged it into my hot rod deluxe, maybe I wouldn’t have bought a Marshall half stack! As it is, though, my Marshall rig solved every single annoying amp issue I had- it’s obvious to me that my heart was longing for the Marshall sound and wouldn’t rest until I got there. I was instantly home. Maybe these pedals will help thousands of guitars feel at home without breaking the bank.
I imagine it would of been more beneficial to demo it on a fender style amp to show how you can get Marshall tones from other amps opposed to using a Marshall and just using these pedals to show the gain they produce
I really like the idea of having an in studio demo of some of the big NAMM releases rather than trying to tell us what's new from the floor amid the noise and crowds.
Why would you run a Marshall pedal that's portraying a certain Marshall amp line into a Marshall amp that's not part of the line? This would have been better off if you use fender amps maybe some bad cat amps Friedman etc.
To get a higher end marshall sound out of a cheap line? I'm lost as to why so many are lost here. The idea is to be able to afford the sounds you want with the rig you have. If you want a fender sound, go to fender. They should do the same thing honestly imo
Hey let's plug these overdrive pedals, same as all the others, into these awesome valve Marshall amps. Sound great don't they? Amazing that they sound just like a Marshall amp! Wonder why?
Lol, my exact same thoughts, as soon as I saw that it wasn’t connected to a power ramp or anywhere else, but straight to an actual Marshall amp I stopped watching !
@@trevorD1156 what happens here is that the average person nowadays can’t afford a tube amp so they get the thing that emulates them the best, so they get like a power stage power amp or a pedal baby and they connect their pedals to that… now for us that have tube amps this is a good example.
As to what's in the box to make it so weighty, I used to work for a makeup company and they actually added a useless weight to their lipstick packaging in order to make it feel more substantial.
Damn those actually sound really nice. If you can’t afford a stack of $10k worth of amps then these would do nicely. Would be cool to add to or build an entire board around a couple of them.
I like the sound of the JVM but I wonder what it sounds like through a Vox or Fender style amp. Not a fan of the OG JVM but the low gain sounds on that one are interesting.
ahh the captain....always wiggling his little legs, always looking up at the ceiling to check in with his big brain, and always touching his nose when people look at him for too long. conquer your fears lee!
Can you turn down the pre amp breathing? Having tried a few marshall style stomp boxes and finding them not quite right i just got a DSL5 as i live in a flat, why did i wait so long, just get a DSL folks you won't regret it.
To the people complaining about plugging a marshall into a marshall, the 59 they are using is a good clean and a good pedal platform. What do you think the earlier marshalls were based on. Fender. Itd be stupid to have a marshall product and have their representative come and do it all on a boss katana or fender amp.
Ha! I must have got unicorns. My 410H, 215c, and 210H aren’t overly noisy at all. I do think the earlier years may have been more problematic in that regard.
Few points on this one, why put these into a marshall head? - that literally defeats the point of the demo. Also, they look like shit, all seem to sound the same and none of the knobs actually change the sound in any meaningful way. Finally - nobody cares enough about the DSL or JVM to buy a pretend pedal version of it ????? weird products
Guys I love you, but I think it was a huge mistake to not make the “amp with IR” pedals. These are just overdrive pedals, and plenty of amp in box out there. This is going to fail. Please make the marshal amp pedals like UA has done with the dream etc..
Marshall, pls!!!! All companies making, cloning, profiling, capturing MARSHALL, and YOU came with New overdrive/dist pedals? Why dont you create your own preamps or multieffects? Why not a JMP-1 in preamp pedal format?
Surprising to me that the guy that Marshall sent out to demo these was playing a Strat. Anybody else wondering how a Les Paul would sound though these pedals.
Lol...seriously? I've got a marshall code 100h to do all this...and yes, both my code 50 and code 100h sounds just like all the Marshall amps...and I can control both amps thru blu tooth on my phone...
A cheap modeler won't sound so much like a Marshall head. Have you ever owned or played extensively through any of those? If so, then you'll agree that a cheap modeler will sound just like a cheap modeler in comparison. Those Marshall pedals hit the nail on the head with the sounds from those Marshall heads.
I get it's a demo so they're going to use their amp, but it'd be more practical to hear them through a more typical pedal platform as that's the intended and most likely use. Not many people are going to have a marshal and decide to get marshal style distortion from a pedal.
True but I guess let's just leave it to the pedal reviewers. Don't think they'll pull out a katana in front of the Marshall guy 😂
100%. The real trick will be to hear how they sound into something as pollar opposite as a fender amp.
100% - back in the day I had a bluesbreaker and I played it at the store through a marshall jcm and it sounded amazing, brought it home and it didn't sound anywhere near that
These sounded just like a Marshall through that Marshall.
As a Marshall Origin owner, getting one of these for a more true ‘59 Marshall sounds seems cool
those marshall pedals make that marshall amp sound just like a marshall amp
Talks about pedals and pedal platforms.
LET'S PLUG THIS MARSHALL PEDAL INTO A MARSHALL
The 1959 is a good pedal platform
@@IamtheFerryMan lol, it's still a Marshall.
More is more. And the 59 is an awesome pedal platform. Definitely would be good to hear it through a Powerstage, a V4 or Bassman, and a 6505. But hey, it’s all Marshall today.!

Yo dawg I heard you like Marshall…
That breathing is something else lol
It is a requirement to stay alive unfortunately... 🙄
@josue_kay yea no shit? It's also an easy fix. Do you hear Lee? No. They did something wrong with the guest audio in comparison
Thank god guitarists finally have multiple options when it comes to distortion in a pedal format.
What's hilarious about your comment is that all overdrive/distortion pedals are all more or less the same 3 or 4 circuits.
These could have all been combined into 1 pedal lol.
Definitely! A few switches and voilà
But then we couldn't sell them for more individually duh
They are all combined into one amp...just buy a Marshall code amp.
Like the SanAmp British V2
took them long enough to make their own plexi in a box style pedals. Agreed that these are bad demos though they should have used a clean Fender style amp. A marshall pedal into a marshall amp is obviously going to sound like a Marshall....
Didn't probably because the Marshall guy is there.
Na vdd o som do Marshal n vem apenas do cabeçote mas tmbm do gabinete. Nao tem como soar como um marshall em um fender. Seria o mesmo que usar um cabeçote da marshall com alto falantes da fender.
there's already hundreds of marshall style preamps. what took them so long
to be fair, this is likely how they where built, even if engineers also used al the other amps just to make sure they work and get close
They need to make a Silver Jubilee pedal
I second this
How about running them thorough a Fender Black Face or a twin?
That makes more sense.
If I could’ve bought one of these for 119 bucks a few years ago and plugged it into my hot rod deluxe, maybe I wouldn’t have bought a Marshall half stack! Pure Poetry
I imagine it would of been more beneficial to demo it on a fender style amp to show how you can get Marshall tones from other amps opposed to using a Marshall and just using these pedals to show the gain they produce
4 knobs and they have such a large housing. I hope they'll make a smaller version of these in the future for the sake of pedalboard space
I really like the idea of having an in studio demo of some of the big NAMM releases rather than trying to tell us what's new from the floor amid the noise and crowds.
Sounds just like a Marshal !!! (playing through a jumpered Marshall)
Plug the pedals straight into a power amp sim and ir loader. Or ox box
The breathing and sniffing sounds 😭
It's the drip from the cocaine
Love the Controls configuration on these pedals. And Good Marshall Tones 🤘👍🎸
That JVM sound is awesome, DSL sounds familiar, that 900 was sweet. And I’m a jcm800 fan. Thanks Captain & Steve
Why would you run a Marshall pedal that's portraying a certain Marshall amp line into a Marshall amp that's not part of the line?

Yeah cool I'm getting ALL of them on TONEX yesterday.😊
Great video! I love how you do pedal comparisons!
These are cool but Why wouldn’t they do this as an amp sim with an IR? If they did something like UAD did with the dream they would sell much better
I can fully see the usefulness of the JVM pedal with the noise-gate for a high-volume band performance.
After owning an original JCM 800 back in the '80s, I'm leaning toward this JVM box. It almost acts like a Swiss Army knife. Nice!!

I mean I was shocked
As to what's in the box to make it so weighty, I used to work for a makeup company and they actually added a useless

My attention has been very well captured
Every pedal sounds good 👍 now hurry up and get these amps shipped to the US so I can put all these pedals setup in front my Modified 1959!
No JTM 45?????? Oh, come on!!
Damn those actually sound really nice. If you can’t afford a stack of $10k worth of amps then these would do nicely. Would be cool to add to or build an entire board around a couple of them.
You guys are gonna sell a million of these.
The JVM gate wasn’t used with his volume rolled off , couldn’t really tell, how good it works. Like each pedal.
Amazing tech Marshall ….. for NAMM 1987 (❤ Anderson though)
That's what a lot of people still want.
Nice video ! Any JTM's coming soon ?
The DSL is awesome.
silver jubilee when?
I like the sound of the JVM but I wonder what it sounds like through a Vox or Fender style amp. Not a fan of the OG JVM but the low gain sounds on that one are interesting.
I had a 900 1x12 I didn't like it but I liked the 900 pedal the best then the 800, they all sound good.
How original and innovative Marshall 🥱
I like the sound of the 1959 head all by itself better.
OCD is the best MIAB pedal! I’ve had them all
This a a Captain Clone on this video. He's actually in California right now at NAMM 2025 with Pete and Co
Id like to hear a shootout vs a wampler!
Will the 800 pedal chug like a Slayer song? Especially since the 800 IS the Slayer Amp?
You're gonna need a Tubescreamer or an EQ in front to boost it like they did.
Seems like buying 2 800s for different settings is the way to go for live…
Wow the Marshall sounds like a Marshall!
ahh the captain....always wiggling his little legs, always looking up at the ceiling to check in with his big brain, and always touching his nose when people look at him for too long. conquer your fears lee!
The use of the Marshall amp really fouls this entire demo. I'd like to see what these sound like plugged into a 'clean' amp/platform.
We're not supposed to use these like pre amps?
Can you turn down the pre amp breathing?
Having tried a few marshall style stomp boxes and finding them not quite right i just got a DSL5 as i live in a flat, why did i wait so long, just get a DSL folks you won't regret it.
Darth Vader does pedal demos?
Peter Griffin lol
No MG series?
Where are the pedals made?
Cmon dude you really need to ask? If they were uk made they'd be £250, my guess is the same factory as the DSL's
I'll stick with my Lovepedal Vintage Modern. Best Marshall amp in a box pedal I have ever used, and I have tried a bunch.
It would have made sense as different preamp pedals to make the amps accessible..
To the people complaining about plugging a marshall into a marshall, the 59 they are using is a good clean and a good pedal platform. What do you think the earlier marshalls were based on. Fender. the 800 is more for Slash's tone right?
Would like to see these compared to the exotic sl drive.
AWESOME!!
the JVM pedal has the exact hiss a JVM head has
Ha! I must have got unicorns. My 410H, 215c, and 210H aren’t overly noisy at all. I do think the earlier years may have been more problematic in that regard.
How bout putting teal tubes in these pedals .
Orange ones would be better
Not happening at this price point.
Is this better than the JHS Angry Charlie?
Forget the clon hook me up w a Marshall pedal that's closest to Beano! I'll love you forever
Keep it!
Late to there own party and missing the mark by not including an IR. I will stick with my Plexi-Breed until I find a bargain Lion.
Jvm all the way
Amp pedal without speaker emulation? They missed a trick
How long has sansamp existed? These simple, functional stomps are clearly to play into amps with speakers.
It's just a distortion pedal, not everything needs the kitchen sink
Pete would have done a much better job for the demo.
Guys I love you, but I think it was a huge mistake to not make the “amp with IR” pedals. These are just overdrive pedals, and plenty of amp in box out there. This is going to fail. Please make the marshal amp pedals like UA has done with the dream etc..
The dsl had a ultra gain channel that was really wicked. Pedal dont have.
5 Years too late to the party.
Add a tube
I bought a quad cortex last year and haven’t had the desire to buy a single pedal since
Dude is trying to steal everyone's oxygen.
Anyone know where they are made?
UK?
China?
Are these preamp pedals or overdrive pedals? It's not making sense to me.
Marshall, pls!!!! All companies making, cloning, profiling, capturing MARSHALL, and YOU came with New overdrive/dist pedals? Why dont you create your own preamps or multieffects? Why not a JMP-1 in preamp pedal format?
Loving that hardwired beast in the back ... the pedals don't sound good, though :(
Surprising to me that the guy that Marshall sent out to demo these was playing a Strat. Anybody else wondering how a Les Paul would sound though these pedals.
I wanna see what it sounds like through a fender….obviously, a Marshall pedal, is gonna sound like a Marshall through a Marshall amp lol
Marshall’s are cool .
Oh god the breathing
Marshall is 20 years late to the Marshall in a Box party. Ironic…and sad. Hard pass.
New it!!
Sd1 smokes all these
Instead of these, Marshall should have just made a modeler
Who was asking for a 900 or DSL pedal? Will 2026 have valvestate and MG lines of pedals?
😂😂😂I was thinking the same thing
Price?
I can't wait there's interesting videos again .Marshall pedals......again.....wgaf?
Lol...seriously? I've got a marshall code 100h to do all this...and yes, both my code 50 and code 100h sounds just like all the Marshall amps...and I can control both amps thru blu tooth on my phone...
Interesting.

I'm going to watch this despite having no interest in these. I like pedals but probably not these ones.
they kinda Mid ngl... you can get the same tones with an SD1
YEAH, why test a Marshall Pedal through a Marshall amp? This one missed the mark.
this vid is brutal lol
JHS The AT+ kills all of these 5 attempts to a Marshall sound .
They chug.
but seriously the sounds are just horrible vs a good tube dream pedal
