Just made this build. Came back to the game and wanted to try PVP but I'm not a meta chaser so this is perfect. Got hate messages the first day, love it.
YES! :D Knight's Errant is the first set I farmed in the game for whatever reason lol... I was a noob and I loved Sword and Shield aesthetic so this was the set I wanted :P --- Anyways, I come back to it once in a while to try and theory craft a build with it. This is the ONLY video I've seen with someone also using this set!
I have to say I love the 2 videos. I checked out. I love eso. Keep it up man. If I had to give any critique or advice at all it would be the background music could be brought down a hair. Other than that you have great quality and I loved the vid. I hope the channel grows bro in 2023!
Love the build! Thanks so much for offering up some Oakensoul builds. I've been trying to run a sword-n-board build for my DK, and I'm wondering how well this might transfer to that class. Obviously, I'd lack Deep Fissure, but perhaps swapping it for Pierce Armor or Noxious Breath would do the trick (and maintain the Breach debuff). If you tried this on a DK, what might you adjust?
I originally tried this build on Templar using pierce armour. Sadly Templars are bad right now so it didn’t work 😂 but yeah I think it would be good on DK. You would lose some of the burst from deep fissure but you would still have the pressure. And pierce armour would be another skill that gave health back from Knight Errant. Would also be tempted to run the dragon leap ultimate with it too!
@@Kylarbyte Thanks for your thoughts! I think I'm going to go for it and try the DK. I'm on the fence between Leap or Corrosive for ULT. Like you said, I'll probably lack burst but the pressure should be good. And if I go corrosive, then penetration is covered. As for the Templar, I actually run a sword + board variant on mine with decent success; however, I don't use Power Slam. I simply use S+B for the Pierce Armor and extra beefiness... then spam Radiant Op until they're vaporized 🙂
Have you ever thought of trying Shielded Assault into Defensive Stance while using Gallant Charge for double damage shields at the price of one? Then pop Spiked Bone Shield for a third damage shield; one that counters melee, one that counters range, and another that is a gap closer and stun. You could do it on any class, really.
I know this is an old video, so I don’t know if you’ll see this comment, but I’ve been playing around with this build as I also love sword and board. Have you given any thought to dropping knight errant’s (even though I love that set and I am always trying to use it in builds) and swapping in curse of doylemish? My thought is that you could hit your deep fissure, CC with shielded assault and then heavy attack into a power slam (cutting off the HA animation with power slam). If your opponent has really good reaction time on the break free, you might not get the doylemish proc. However, in situations where you do get the proc, it would be incredibly bursty. Tool tip on that is over 10K and it can proc every four seconds.
I love these kind of builds and have even made this build. On Xbox EU everyone's that tanky I'm afraid it hardly makes a dent :-( shame it really is a fun build like you say it is!
Nice build, just subbed. I bet after playing this build for a while you won’t need the step back after shielded assault and have the timing down for the beetles to hit on your way in w/shielded
2 bar builds are usually better because they give you more flexibility over your buffs/skills. One bar builds are much easier to use though as oakensoul gives you a lot of permanent buffs so you don’t have to worry. So one bar builds are more accessible and good for newer players
I been trying to switch weapons for each character because I want each one to have at least a skills that do 100% to 400% damage to enemies below 50% but I am stuck with dk and nightblade because with nb do have one but not sure if sword and shield would fit on nb
SnB Nightblade is very doable actually. I think it is one of the better possible combinations actually. It's an interesting playstyle having extra defense on your front bar using that shield to block. --- The trick is that the Vatashran 2h on your back bar will proc on your frontbar. So you can use your SnB to build Vatashran stacks and trigger them with the medium/heavy attack allowing you to set up burst damage. SnB also scales weapon damage and surprise attack does sunder/minor breach. What I personally do is: Khajiit Arteum food 1 pc - Slimecraw 5 pc - Night Mother's Gaze (major breach when you critical... which is all of the time basically) - You could also do Truth for more weap dmg or Stuhn's for more penn. I find crit builds fun so that's why I'm using Night Mother's 5 pc - Gryphon's Ferocity (give you minor expedition and minor force for more critical dmg) 1 pc - Sea-Serpent's Coil (Major Berserk and Major Courage for big damage.. .but it snares you 40% which you offset with Gryphon's and Swift Jewelry and Medium Armor for movement) Before CP for Battlegrounds: -You crit 50% of the time at 94% Crit Dmg (with CP crit dmg is 112%) -30k hp 13k mag 22k stam - 1740 stam recovery (CP stam recovery is 2229) -Weapon Dmg up to 6223 with Vamp, Vateshran, and Merciless Resolve gaining stacks. (CP 6667) -With attacking from the flank you will have around 13,600 collective pen (major/minor breach, sharpened, NB flank passives) -Arteum Tooltips for abilities fully buffed in Cyrodiil with CP: Surprise Attack ~15,200 Merciless Resolver ~29,500 Incap ~23,500 Killer's Blade (execute +400% under 50%) ~7,353 ----- Resolving Vigor ~26,000 Healthy Offering ~17,600 remember that we crit 50% of the time for 94% to 112% Vatashran 2h Sword (powered) for the back bar - will proc on the front bar - Powered Sword combo makes for stronger heals when on the back bar or when refreshing Rally. It works well enough - I enjoy SnB aesthetic so it's what I like and it's a fun play style.
you could give it ago but a lot of the sustain comes from Argonian. If you're a Nord you might have to change your mundus stone and jewellery enchants to get more recovery

Hell yes glad you enjoy! Getting hate messages is how you know you're having a good time! Thanks for checking out the build!

I love the Sword and Shield playstyle too so I'm always trying to make it work!

You did earn a sub!
Thankyou so much! Glad you're enjoying the content and I appreciate the feedback as well!
When a guy says its unsanitary to be inside someone and forgets he's an argonian with immunity to disease status effect
😂😂😂
interesting build,ill try it,nice video
Did you try ?

I wonder if you could do something similar to what you did with the Dragon Knight using Varen's Legacy since the beetles are an AOE.
Looks similar to my build on Chiv, I need a shield to prolong my time between respawns by 20 seconds
i know the feeling

i'm also running a basher build, but I'm using deadlands demolisher + harbinger sets. I'm also using 3x bash dmg glyphs on jewelry, all infused.
I love these kind of builds and have even made this build. On Xbox EU everyone's that tanky I'm afraid it hardly makes a dent :-( shame it really is a fun build like you say it is!
I just found your channel and your build are pretty cool. Have you tried making a frost mage since it's usable nowadays?
Thanks I'm glad you enjoy! Yeah I've wanted to make a frost build for a while! It sounds cool!
Nice build, just subbed. I bet after playing this build for a while you won’t need the step back after shielded assault and have the timing down for the beetles to hit on your way in w/shielded
Glad you enjoyed! Thankyou! Oh yes exactly! Its so satisfying to land it all at once
I need to try this, I struggle with liking my warden tank.
How much better are the 2 bar builds compared to 1 bar?

Bash builds fun
Your armour is cool

What I personally do is:
Khajiit
Arteum food
1 pc - Slimecraw
5 pc - Night Mother's Gaze (major breach when you critical... which is all of the time basically) - You could also do Truth for more weap dmg or Stuhn's for more penn. I find crit builds fun so that's why I'm using Night Mother's

1 pc - Sea-Serpent's Coil (Major Berserk and Major Courage for big damage.. .but it snares you 40% which you offset with Gryphon's and Swift Jewelry and Medium Armor for movement)
Before CP for Battlegrounds:
-You crit 50% of the time at 94% Crit Dmg (with CP crit dmg is 112%)
-30k hp 13k mag 22k stam - 1740 stam recovery (CP stam recovery is 2229)
-Weapon Dmg up to 6223 with Vamp, Vateshran, and Merciless Resolve gaining stacks. (CP 6667)
-With attacking from the flank you will have around 13,600 collective pen (major/minor breach, sharpened, NB flank passives)
-Arteum
Tooltips for abilities fully buffed in Cyrodiil with CP:
Surprise Attack ~15,200
Merciless Resolver ~29,500
Incap ~23,500
Killer's Blade (execute +400% under 50%) ~7,353
-----
Resolving Vigor ~26,000
Healthy Offering ~17,600
remember that we crit 50% of the time for 94% to 112%
Vatashran 2h Sword (powered) for the back bar - will proc on the front bar - Powered Sword combo makes for stronger heals when on the back bar or when refreshing Rally.
It works well enough - I enjoy SnB aesthetic so it's what I like and it's a fun play style.
Could I make something like this work on an imperial templar?
You already have minor berserk from oaken...go minor evasion on wings
Good spot. I didn’t even check what the other morph did if I’m honest. Thanks!
does this build works with nord race?
you could give it ago but a lot of the sustain comes from Argonian. If you're a Nord you might have to change your mundus stone and jewellery enchants to get more recovery
Could this work on a dark elf?
it would probably still work but you would lose a lot of the recoveries that you get from the Argonian passives
Nice!
