    wtf 8:35... it catches back yet still dewires a second time! who designed these junctions? why do they stick out... never seen any other trolley pole based system like this

      I agree that the wire system seems poorly designed. There is so much going on in the overhead wires that a dewirement seems inevitable. My main guess is that the "frogs" are not positioned correctly or they are worn from so much cross traffic of the "trams". I put that in quotes since here in Philadelphia we call our trams "trolleys". Our overhead wires do not seem to have so much hardware, therefore dewirements are relatively rare.

    Should convert to pantographs.

      melbourne now uses pantos. poles physically cannot be used in Melbourne now
