I got to ride this and shivering timbers this year, both destination rides for sure! I felt like all of the seats on voyage were good but the front is where its at!
Next year I am going for Holiwood nights, I will work my itinerary around it no matter what. I skipped an OS coaster trip this year entirely so I can do US again next year but also EU this time (not so easy to travel from OZ every year lol), but even with the trim (it really wasn't that bad), this was KING for me and better than El Toro IMHO. I loved Shivering Timbers but I have ridden that over 100 times since 2001, whereas this was all new to me. I had never made it to HW before and I am so glad I finally went, and now as a nice reminder, this is pretty much THE best back row POV I have seen of Voyage where you actually get a feeling of what it's like to ride from your laptop screen! VERY nicely done. Now to those watching, imagine this but at 9PM for one of the last rides of the night, it feels totally out of control. What a great ride. I think it might be the best woodie in the USA, nay, North America in total, but I always flip flop with my decisions somewhat. For example, in opening year, Ghost rider very back row at 10PM on a PACKED Saturday Night was an out of this world experience for me, totally surreal and it has stayed with me for over 2 decades, however every year after 2001 it just got rougher and rougher and trimmed until GCI finally fixed it. But even though it's awesome again, something, I am not quite sure what, but something hasn't given me the same feeling as 1999 and 2000. Ok so not opening year, but it opened Dec 1998 so 1999 was still its first Summer of operation. In any case, I think Voyage beats GR for me now because it just has more DROPS, and I love drops more than anything on any coaster. They are both equally well paced though with only a couple seconds respite which is very clever as it's used in both coasters to their advantage. Up North, I did like the very imaginatively titled Coaster at Playland Canada, yet that and Phoenix might be the two most ever overrated coasters to me, and Millennium Force is THE most overrated for me on the Steel side (rode that one in the actual opening year and multiple times since, every seat, trying to get "something" out of it other than the feeling of speed but to no avail). Voyage? Not overrated. It's not that often that something lives up to and exceeds hype. I think if GCI did a retrack or Gravity Group themselves did the entire thing with their new pre cut wood track, that Hades 360 would be in a top spot tussle with Voyage. Unfortunately, that was so rough that it sucked any enjoyment out of it and I got a headache and backache and rode only once. What a crying shame to have such a masterful attraction running in such derelict fashion.

Voyage gave me a major headache on my first ride, that didn't stop me from marathoning this madness regardless! Sometimes you have to sacrifice for something you love! ❤🤘

I think the front is better. Voyage balances air time between the front and back pretty well, so the superior view from the front wins out for me.
