I'm a bigger girl (~210lb) and because I don't like when people talk about my body I NEVER talk about anybody else's body, to me, ALR is just a bully that has to put down others because she feels so bad about herself not being the supermodel she thinks she is in her head.

I don’t like talking about anyone else’s body either. I was overweight as a kid and went on a diet when I was 12, and have stayed healthy since then. But I remember what it was like having people make comments about your body/weight. So anytime I say anything about ALR or Foodie, I don’t like using name calling about their size. I wouldn’t want someone doing that to me so I will not do that to them. I think commenting on their behavior is probably better constructive criticism anyway.

Doesn’t this make you wonder how she is not currently out of breath in her videos? It’s almost like she purposely waits to catch her breath and then edits out her deep breathing 🤔 Because there is NO way her breathing isn’t 10x worse nowadays. People used to always comment on her breathing constantly so she must have just gotten better at managing it for her videos. I think that’s why we rarely see her vlog and if we do it’s a quick clip and she is further away. She also stopped recording while walking - that penguin sway that made us seasick.

I had a student, morbidly obese. I was a morbidly obese teen so I felt for him. It somehow came up and he asked how I lost weight, and I thought “Great, this opens the door to help.” The PE teacher and I really tried to come up with a plan to help him. The English teacher recently got a gym membership near the school and told the student they could workout together after school or before school, whichever was best. His mother had purchased him two gym memberships in the past and stopped giving him money because he kept buying snacks. But after a bit he would sometimes ask us teachers for help getting home because he was out of bus money.
It eventually came to our understanding that he had no intention of losing weight. He just wanted that positive adult attention because he lacked it at home. We told him we will help him if he changes his mind, but really we were devoting hours of time to him weekly and we couldn’t be giving up our grading and lesson planning time for a student who wouldn’t do anything we recommended. We had other students to who needed our time, too.
Eventually he started taking double lunches, and bringing additional lunch from home. The school tuition allowed him to eat what he wanted, and the more he ate the less food waste there was. Several of us expressed concern to the administration, but they said students can absolutely eat as much as they want or need, and we can’t prevent him because we’d be treating one student unfairly.
After this, what can we do? His mom was on board to help but he didn’t listen to her and got snacks all the time somehow. He was eating 2-3 full meals at school.
Unlike Amber, he attended clubs and made friends. He was a good guy otherwise. He graduated and he still messages me every so often. He got a job and stuff and asked for help, he asked for help on how to boost his grades after graduating high school to get into a good university, stuff like that. And he’s a genuinely interesting and funny person.
I can’t imagine that no one in Amber’s life noticed/cared, but I’m guessing they were unable to DO much of anything.
Childhood obesity is a form of parental neglect and should be treated similar to other forms of malnutrition. I’m not saying to take kids away from parents, but it CANNOT be allowed to just exist like this. Kids are SUFFERING.

You acknowledge that he was using you and other staff members to get positive adult attention, which he was lacking at home, according to you, and then, you immediately withdrew it. Did it occur to you that THAT was the reason he was overeating? He was using food to compensate for love. His being overweight was a symptom, not a problem in and of itself, but it appears that that's what you chose to focus on.

I used to refuse to eat in front of people when I was a teenager. I thought people would look at me and laugh. I weighed about 190 at the time. Hated myself. It's so weird to me that she doesn't get paranoid about the same thing being done to her.

She was a fat baby, toddler,& child tipping the scales at 8yrs old near 200pounds.She started off in foster homes but could not follow house rules eating them out of house in home.she admits to stealing food and girl scout orders eating many of the entire cookie candy orders. The foster parents on the hook also lets not forget the teachers paying for weight watcher and she lasted what a week? Amber from the jump manipulated adults like a pro pouting crying to get her way.amber then placed in a group home began stealing food saying she was punished by being given low fat milk and fruit instead of cake or cookies...amber would have seen doctors and psychiatrist as she entered foster care because of her weight and family dynamic. she was a obese baby, toddler ,and child she was near 200 pounds by 8yrs old before she was placed in foster care. then she manipulated many adults to get her way and still does. the childhood photos clearly tell a story😮.she would have had to see doctors as a foster child and im sure they would have said she needed to loose weight ..but ambers addiction and refusal to listen to professionals in conjunction with her blaming her mental illness many times self diagnosed and blamed everyone but herself for her weight..she has to not be moving and eating a massive amounts of calories to maintain her size.and those are facts of science
