The GT drivers looks amazing, your swing looks amazing, but what really came across to me in this video was how good your fitter John was! He was all in from the start and very knowledgeable. Loved it!
What I love about their drivers is that they don't look gimmicky at all. very understated form follows function design. Might be time for me to start testing new drivers. Mine is 5 years old now.
Welcome to the Titleist world Alex. I was a pretty high handicap almost 2 years ago. The Tsr2 changed that and now they will have to pry it out of my cold dead hands. The wife knows that I'm to be buried with it.
Great review, John knows his stuff. I’ve been hitting the TS1 for a few years and considering a change since the technology continues to get better. I’m a senior and I need all the help I can get. Thanks for another great video!
I played with a guy that uses an old Titleist 909D2 9.5°. I use a new Ai Smoke Triple Diamond 9°. On the opening hole I hit a 305 yard drive and he out drove me by 20 yards. I had him hit my driver later on, and he didn’t hit it any further than his old 909D2. I thought he would have gained at least 10-15 yards. Technology didn’t seem to help him.
Wow. I thought I was the only one! I play a 909D3 9.5 and it still destroys most drivers. I recently tested GT4 and like the last 15 years I'm seeing minimal gains. Not enough to justify the price tags. So are we just fed nonsense, or was it an exceptional driver?
If he smashed both out the middel, there would be no difference. Since COR is locked at 0.83 i think. So drivers cant get "hotter" then that. Doesnt matter if its a 10--15 year old driver. All are limited to the 0.83 COR A new driver would be much more forgiving, if you dont smash it in the middel though. Thats the where the newer driver shines. But still, the producers try to make it seem like there is a HUGE difference each new driver coming out
I wish I was good enough to go through this as it looks interesting, fun and .... wow what a difference it could make to a game. Well done Alex: thoroughly enjoyed watching the process.
great review , what will be interesting is if you get the same numbers with your trackman/flightscope , not sure how they could fit me with my enormous range of misses :P
I have been out of golf for 25 years, married, started a business, had kids, now kids are gone wife wants nothing to do with me (lol) and the tech that has come into golf is mind boggling. Maybe someday if I continue to play I will bet fitted. This is just amazing.
I took 18 years off due to work, family, injuries and surgery. I started end last season going to the range. Started going through fittings this season and can't believe the difference!
@@DB12531 I've got some injuries too that I am working through. Still just stretching and swinging the club to try to see if my body will take it. Sucks getting old.
did you get feed back on the hits? and how does that compare with the feed back on Ping 10K you tried?? I found very little feed back on the 10k I tried and not. sure yet if that's a good thing because I can't feel where the correction needs to be.
I've just traded in my Ping G430 10k for this reason. I couldn't feel where I was hitting it on the face and also spin numbers were through the roof. Got fitted recently not expecting the GT3 to be the driver I was going to be interested in but numbers were better than anything else for me plus I knew exactly where on the face I was hitting it.
If the USGA have passed a head as conforming to their limitations , the “improvements” are cosmetic. Save yourself a small fortune by learning how to hit out of the sweet spot and get a shaft soft enough for your swing speed. You’re welcome.
Not going to hit it any further since 2013 regulations. All just marketing now, which is 70% of the cost of a new driver from the big boys. Golf is in decline because as numbers fall, manufacturers keep profits up by increasing prices far beyond inflation. However, that's not going to work forever as people will just change sports to avoid being ripped off.
Always bring your driver with you to buy a new driver. Compare them side by side....Could save you a lot of money if the new driver cant beat your present driver.
Nope I’m good not for 650$ USD, prices are out of control people have to stop buying these new overpriced clubs. These brands will just keep raising prices if people are willing to pay.
Just wait a while and you can pick these up used for a fraction off this price. Don’t need to buy the newest drivers, because the difference is not huge between new and older models.
Ikr.....how can people actually play golf when the golf clubs cost more then a membership at a golf course...prices are freaking stupid....and most golf clubs cost less then half the sales price to make
@@uniqueidentity1362 You don’t have to get expensive clubs, if you can’t afford the prices of major manufacturers new club prices. You can buy great irons brand new from Takomo, they are less than than that driver, then just buy a driver from 3 or 4 years ago, there is negligible difference in performance.
How much can these possibly cost Titleist? $100? Unless they use a real shaft brand? Even if you buy a driver and have Shafer choices those shafts are not the real ones.
It is like riding a bicycle with training wheels. How fun is that!? (Today's golfers are so beta!) It is all about 'equity' (equal outcomes even if you suck).
Ok, but to enjoy golf do we all have to be millionaires? The normal people are paying for all the freebies that are being given to the pros and these other people online who are famous and getting free equipment endorsements. Seriously, when we thought the Ping 10k driver was insanely priced in Canada at $879 Titleist who is at $799 plus taxes hike it up another hundred bucks. So now it basically sets you back a grand for a brand new driver. Sorry, but I hope they leave these clubs sitting on the rack…that’s what needs to happen with all these crazy prices. I have a TSR2 I It seems they just milk the cow and never know when to stop.
completely agree. how ridiculous for a normal working person to have to pay that much for clubs is stupid. almost a house payment for a driver come on. was bad enough when they were 500
@@HowGoodGolf yea. i want the thing so dang bad but idk how i can bring myself to do it….by the time im fit, of course ill need the premium shaft option, easily over $900 for one club.
Prices are through the roof because of player demands to represent the product. This is all such a joke. No driver is going to improve your swing characteristics. If anyone believes these clubs improve distance 5 yards every year well good luck. Common sense tells me they move weights front back left right up down and the pros still hit 50% of the fairways LoL!
Love all the secrets!! Titleist really is the best!!

Proper fitting to find not only what is good when good but what is best when you miss it some. Proof of being fitted is important. Excellent.

Great video. Great fitter. Great performance Alex
I got the GT3 Hzurdus black XS standard length. Love it.
I need a GT3 in my life after watching this.
Brilliant video Alex, funny to watch your face, cat with the cream or what, all your Christmases arrived on the same day etc…
😂😂😂😂
Oh damn.. John (The Fitter) used to work at AF Golf Store & he fit my clubs for me! I wondered where he went! 😂
good info on the new heads, editing is a bit jumpy.
Seems like every Titleist fitter has a different story. Nice sound and great numbers
Hey Alex what was the reasoning for the Shaft change? I also game TSR3 6s TR Red. After my fitting Im also making the switch Hzrdus black GT3.
Sticking with my qi10

I buy a new driver every time a new one comes out b/c each new one hits further and is more forgiving. Kidding.

It wasn’t that long ago that you could buy a set of irons for what this driver costs.
You still can for some really good irons, that you can buy direct from the Company, like Takomo.

Nah….I’m gonna be a lot happier with a $449 TSR2
The ball speed stat is very over played right now. He hit 3 drives all next to each other and all he cares about is the ball speed.

Drivers are a scam . The incremental improvement on each driver these days makes 0% impact on most if not all players . It’s just marketing .
