I just got my HZRDUS stiff shaft GT2 today. Absolutely love the feel. The sound is also incredible, idk why sound seems important but I think it’s the best sounding driver I’ve ever hit. Very excited to use this driver for the next couple years.
Just got fitted at a Titleist studio and was pleasantly surprised with the Tensei 1k Blue stock shaft + GT3 T2 weight setting - gained 25 total yards (from 240 to 265 yds) over my gamer TSR2 with a $350 custom fitted shaft. Faster clubhead speed and less spin resulted in consistent center strikes and more carry distance. Thank you team Titleist!
I just got fit into the GT3 in 8* with 14 gram weight in the H2 setting. Tensei black 65 TX. This thing is amazing. It has made my left miss completely disappear. Soft cuts all day! I love it!
Just got fitted into a GT2, mine is coming with the Denali Red but in the 60g 6.0 Stiff. We found with the HZRDUS black shaft I didn’t have control of the club head, I need to ‘feel’ the head more with a bigger perception of weight at the end of the shaft. The Tensei Blue was better, but spin was too high for my swing. We didn’t try the Tensei Black, as we settled into the Denali Red 60 g 6.0 in stiff as I was getting repeatedly good results with consistent spin.
Great comparison. My swing speed is only around 100mph, but I fit into the HZRDUS Black at my last fitting. Lots to do with feel and how I deliver at impact. It's very interesting to see the differences!
Great comparison video! My GT2 is coming with the Denali red, which felt fast and light without too much spin. However, I will be re-shafting with my current Ventus Red TR for better dispersion....unless the Denali Red ends up beating VRTR with a faster number. Go get fit for sure...might be surprised. Thanks again for the great videos.
Another great video Mike, the Titleist GT drivers and fairways look fantastic so I cannot wait to test them out, when I got fitted for my TSR driver I tested several stock shafts plus premium shafts including Ventus, Ventus TR, Diamana and Graphite Design but surprisingly the stock Tensei 1K Black 65 TX gave me the best numbers and felt great so I went with that shaft.
Got fitted last year in a TSR3! Tried all upcharged shafts and got fitted for the stock 1k black 75g. Best driver ever, distance and accuracy has never been so consistent. Will consider an upgrade next titleist driver launch in 2 years.
I had a fitting in November. Came down to TSr1 and Dynapower Carbon. The TSr was a little further with a little better dispersion. Could have gone with either. Ended up with TSr1 and Tensi 1K Black 65 stiff.
Got fitted to the tensei black 1k X 75g for my tsr3. Tried a lot of other shafts, including the ventus velcore black, and I got better numbers with the tensei as far as spin, carry, and dispersion.
I didnt think I was going to give up my TSR2, but in the sim I gained 11 yards, picked up club head and ball speed. I cant remember the exact numbers but I think I gained 4.8 mph club head speed went from 94 to 99.8 mph on best result, and 9 mph ball speed, I think to 149 mph. But I know i gained 11 total yards. I switched from the Hzdrus Red CB shaft in the TSR2, to the Hzdrus Black 60 g shaft in the GT2. Also had tighter dispersion with the GT2. Played with it last and this weekend, and the results were really good on the course. Thanks Michael on sharing the stock shaft options. It was very helpful
Had a fitting for the gt. Some feedback for manufacturers - offer grip sizes other than standard. Tried 4 other shafts which were all 4 to 5 mph down on my current shaft due to grip, making shaft comparisons impossible.
I switch back and forth between GD Vf6 6s and Ventus TR Red 5s. Ventus TR Red is good launch, low/mid spin and can pretty much perform with most swing types. Started to focus more on grip fitting to really dial it in.
Commented a long while back on how smooth your swing is and glad to say is still as good as ever. Just waiting on a fitting of the new GT line up and quite looking forward to it. Great video
Very impressive review. For someone whose miss is left, the dispersion stands out the most. But I see the same numbers regardless of shaft weight which is interesting as it refutes the notion of an ultra lightweight shaft going farther!
Great review, love your channel and your golf swing is beautiful! How much stiffness increase would one expect to see if they tipped the Denali Red an inch? Would it effect torque and shot dispersion (on center hits)? Thanks!
Just had a fitting for gt driver. Currently play qi10 9 degree TX Tour AD HD. Ended up fitted into the denali red 6.0 50g. Thought I'd be in the 9 degree GT 2, but spin was a touch low, ended up in 9 degree GT3, brought spin up to about 2300. Go figure. For info SS was between 109 and 111 mph. Just shows every driver and shaft combo is different for individual delivery.🤯
I'm around 110 to 111 driver clubhead speed. I have the GT2 10 degree with the HZRDUS black 60 stiff. I'm a little smaller than you at 6ft and 215lbs. This shaft works great for me..great carry around 275 280 and good bounce and roll out. I've always been a high ball hitter without spinning the ball too much. 10 degree driver has always been longer for me than a 9
I still use my Fujikura Airspeeder. Great combo with the TSR and I'm sure it'll be even better with the GT2. That's the real stock shaft Titleist should use imo
Thank you for this excellent review! Can you please provide some commentary on how the HZRDUS black compares to the Tensei 1K Black? I'm stuck between choosing between those two shafts in a XFlex, and I don't have the option to get to a fitter. Thank you!
My GT3 arrived 3 days ago. Got fitted by Titleist fitter here on The Gold Coast Australia. He put me in 9deg Hazdrs 6.5 60 gram. Loving it already. My mishits are finding the Fairway. Never been fitted before. But wouldn’t buy off the shelf again now.
The thing is with the made for shafts you can get fitted and find a shaft you really like ,but when you get your club with the new shaft it might not be much like you hit at the fitting ,in a perfect world the made for shaft you hit would be the one you leave with after forking out the mad amount of cash for these drivers..I have the Mitsubishi Tensi blue in 65 x the real one ,same with the Mitsubishi b series I have had for years in original Japanese flower patterns.still got that one as a spare now ,the tolerance of the original shafts is pretty much bang on ,made for shafts not so much ,I think that’s where shafts differ .Blue banded Mitsubishi shafts are very much mid to average for golfers ,not harsh feeling in any flex and suit a wide range of golfers ,I’m not sure flex makes too much difference, torque, weight and kick point are far more important to how the club altogether feels .Good video Mike .
I have TM Stealth woods, I got “fitted” by Titleist fitter into a GT3 with the Tensi blue 55 1k Flushed theirs on the range, HATE mine everything goes left 😢
Hey Mike!!! I have the TENSEI black with my qi10, not sure if it’s the 1k. Can never find information on this shaft. Is it actually the same shaft as in this video? TIA
Exactly, the real deal shafts use more stable premium materials, the tolerances are tighter and should all feel very similar from one shaft to another .
I use a Ai Smoke Triple Diamond 9° with an AV White Raw 65 gram Stiff shaft. My swing speed is between 110-114 on the course. I wasn’t fitted by a company. I did research and understood my swing characteristics and how I hit the ball and landed on that combo. It has improved my game tremendously to have a low spin driver with a low launch shaft.
If you understood it that much you’d be in an x-stiff and not a stiff. Just go get fitted and you’d be amazed vs guessing like you’ve done/making stuff up. 110 club speed but in a stiff? 😂

Definitely seeing quicker clubhead speed with the GT
That is great stuff
I had the same results with the Tensei Blue in 55g. Never thought I’d like that light of a shaft, but it really performed well for me.
Tensei 1k Vs Ventus velocore?
Comments
Who has tried em out? Looking for feedback🍻
Good to see there is some real difference and fitting options without having to go to an upcharge shaft

Best club/shaft tester by far. Great video again. Smash of 1.48 - I wish !

Good point. Grip size is a problem in fittings bc all shafts come in the standard/thin size only.
I switch back and forth between GD Vf6 6s and Ventus TR Red 5s. Ventus TR Red is good launch, low/mid spin and can pretty much perform with most swing types. Started to focus more on grip fitting to really dial it in.
how do the two black's compare to your gamer Velocore+ black in 6x?

Thanks mate! Perfect no BS, very informative review!
I got fitted for the hazardous black 60 gram on the GT2 10 degrees of loft.
I was just fit into the exact same setup and it arrived today. Very excited to try it out. Lmk how you have been enjoying yours over the last month
Another great video really helpful about what different shafts can do 👌👌
Thanks 👍

This is a wild turn of events
Tried a bunch of shafts and decided on the DJ Series from LA Golf in my Titleist.
Good analysis.
I'm around 110 to 111 driver clubhead speed. I have the GT2 10 degree with the HZRDUS black 60 stiff. I'm a little smaller than you at 6ft and 215lbs. Great info again! I'm up at the hub tomorrow for a fitting with Lee, so it will be interesting!
💪
I have a Tensei 1K Pro Orange X with an AI Smoke TD bust would love to get my hands on a 1K Pro Black just for fun.
Plenty of no upcharge shafts available from titleist over these 4 if you can get fitted also great review
Thank you for this excellent review! Can you please provide some commentary on how the HZRDUS black compares to the Tensei 1K Black? I'm stuck between choosing between those two shafts in a XFlex, and I don't have the option to get to a fitter. Thank you!
Tour AD VF gave me best results. Pricey, but 200 upcharge little better than 350 aftermarket price.
It seems like you get along with the Ping G430 Max10k stock shafts better! Good review here as well.

Hey Mike!!! I have the TENSEI black with my qi10, not sure if it’s the 1k. Can never find information on this shaft. Is it actually the same shaft as in this video? TIA
Fitted for a tsr2, tensai 1k blue, 55 stiff. Getting older and slower
Michael do you play the GT2 or GT3?
I had to make a choice between my Ping 430 max 10 k and the new GT. That was an easy one. GT was horrible to hit. So Ping it is for me
So we all know you need maximum forgiveness. Titleist isn't for forgiveness but performance with quality golfers
Is that 1 of the closest data sets you've had when comparing shafts?
Yes!
Do you know if this Tensei 1K the same as the premium 1K being sold separately by Mitsubishi?
Tis not the same
Exactly, the real deal shafts use more stable premium materials, the tolerances are tighter and should all feel very similar from one shaft to another .

How is your dispersion out of interest? Just wondering if that stiff shaft is giving you timing issues with too much flex?
1k blue 🤦♂️ just brought the aftermarket version for my older titleist
Have two of the AV Blue from my Cobra Speedzone and Callaway Epic Flash. 65 stiff, perfect for me.
@@xXcharliegoonerXx - nice - will admit the full blooded 1k blue is awesome.
Ernie els of you tube, hope Ernie isn’t watching. Good review though
Torque with these newer shafts has nothing to do with twist. It's back and forth flex. Not twist
