    Oh really. You`re such an excellent teacher. We have all these while been scrambling in getting such fixed up at our College -Canadian College of Modern Technology right at Mile 91 Town, in the North of Sierra Leone-W/A. I have watched lots of tutorials about such device-(ATEM Television Studio-Black magic Design.Trust me, none of those ever made an analytical work which you`ve just done. I enjoyed the video. Congratulations!!

    but I think you should have a B camera to show more precisely what you describe and show. We can see nothing with only a wide shot :-(

    Couple of things:
    1) isn’t the switcher uncomfortable in that position? Having to have your arm mid way in the air with nothing to rest it on must cause fatigue quite quickly. Wouldn’t it have been better to put the switcher at the bottom or second U from bottom so you can rest your arm on the table?
    2) I would have put both IO panels at the top of the case for easy access and put a couple of blanking plates at the bottom to stop random bits from sneaking into your case.
    3) why separate router and switch? The router has a built in switch so you can plug all your stuff directly, you don’t need both.
    4) if you do a lot of on-site work, many times there is no wired internet connectivity available. Look into something like a Peplink router which lets you use Wired, WiFi or 4G as uplink and has a nice and easy mobile app or website to configure it in the field. Some models have a built in switch too.
    5) the Latte Panda is a SBC, not a full PC. It’s designed for things like home automation and building robots so it’s very low powered. It will quickly balk under things like PowerPoint presentations or playing videos as it’s not designed for that. Consider changing to something like a Intel NUC which is as powerful as a regular desktop PC.

      Thank you for your comments and feedback. During actual use and not set up for filming it, the layout works well for me. Thanks for your advice on Latte Panda alternative. We actually have three laptops running through the system for the heavy lifting and the latte Panda runs the show intro countdown.
      The seperate switcher router gives some flexibility but personal choice (Im not a tech guy when it comes to that. The router though does not have to be wired in as it is a modem as well and connects quite well to any wifi we have access to.
      Love all your feedback and on the next build will certainly incorporate and hopefully have an even better system :) Cheers Michael

    Hello, I am new to this live streaming and recording world. I have ordered the bmd tv studio pro hd, web presenter, and hyper deck studio mini. This video has helped tremendously on how to get everything started. Only question is, how did you integrate the web presenter? If you showed I missed it. As far as I could tell you only sent program out feeds to your monitors and hyper deck mini recorder. Do you have a wiring diagram on your setup?

I am interested in the video you mention where you talk about how to program the outputs, run the software, etc... the actual use of the units. I don't see that video. If I'm missing it, could you please post a link? Thanks

      Hi
      Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. I am still making those videos and will get them done as soon as possible. The next video which will go up this week will be how to get multiple upstream keyer working on your ATEM switcher as a lot of people are struggling with just the single upstream keyer for green screen work on the ATEM HD.
      Quickly though I use the auxiliary output on the back of the ATEM and connect it to the right side of my Duo monitor then take the feed from the duo monitor to one of my through switches on the back of the flight case. On the ATEM software control panel (on the laptop I use) I select Auxiliary from the menu at the top of the screen, scroll down the selections and select program. You can also use the front panel on the ATEM to do this also by pressing menu, scroll (using the dial) to Auxiliary, press set button, scroll down to program, press set again the press menu button to exit.
      Hope that gets you started. If you want a specific video please just let me know.
      My plan is to continue making these behind the scenes technical videos and for my Patrons take them behind the scenes on how to build a 7 figure business.
      Thanks again.
      Michael

    Hi Michael, thanks for the great video. I learned a lot.
    I've got a question about networking in your case. The switcher and hyperdeck need a fixed IP adress, so you added a router. But if you connect your router to a network connection, this will also connect to a router, so you've got double distribution of IP adresses. How does this exactly work? And the wifi is just for connecting from a wired connection? Or can it also be used to connect to an existing wireless network to stream over that?
    Thanks a lot. :)

    • @the101connection
      @the101connection  5 років тому

      Hi Tim
      Great questions :) Ok all the Blackmagic gear and my Latte Panda feed through the switcher which enables me to control them all from one computer.
      The router also connects through the switcher, the switcher allows the seperate IP address.
      For this bit of magic I simply wired it all together then said to my IT guru friend, make it talk LOL and for him it was simple.
      The latte Panda he had to change the config so it matched all my camera settings (Blackmagic is a pain here as everything has to be the same) And yes I can plug in hard wired internet connection or use the routers wifi (which is what I usually use) to connect remotely. The Latte panda accesses web site stuff to give me the feeds I want to mix into the productions, challenging to co-ordinate but heaps of fun.
      Our next big project with this is to run our own News show which should commence in about three weeks time. This will have multi video feed upload streamers, tickers, multi lower thirds etc all running through the ATEM HD and since it only has one upstream keyer and the media pool is for graphics only, beating the restrictions has been fun to work aeound. Some final tweeks and lets see if it flys of crashes LOL

    Hello, is it possible to separate the video o which recorded by one camera from Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio???

    • @the101connection
      @the101connection  5 років тому

      Hi Mes, The ATEM has individual outputs for each sdi input (these are the inputs from each camera) so as long as you use sdi cables to fee in your camera source footage then you can output the individual sources and record each camera individually as well as get a live production mix feed through the Program out feed. Really powerful stuff and great fun to play around with. Live feeds can sometimes not be as professional as you want and having individual recordings gives you post mix ability to get the production you want. Great question :)

  • @obong1
    @obong1 5 років тому

    I noticed when you turned the box on, all the monitors where connected - Blackmagic Mini Studio. In my case the mini studio does output anything to it's monitor till you hit record, is that the same case for you?

      Hi Obie
      Thanks for the message. Yes all my monitors show the video even befor hitting record. I have since and bought a large cheap TV to use as a monitor for the multi screen output. I connected this through the hdmi output and it works great.

    • @the101connection
      @the101connection  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for the question and yes this can be a challenge. When I had issues I realised I was importing 24 frame per second footage but my import settings on FCPX were set to 5o frames per second so I was starting in sinc and it either appeared to be stretching or shrinking. I would start here and I always use a clapper board. That large visual spike on the sound track I find saves heaps of time. Simply align the spike with the frame that shows the clapper board just as it closes.

      101 Media Group hi guys! I actually have the same question: how do sync during video and audio from the sound board *during streaming*, not in post

    • @pjohnsonfilms
      @pjohnsonfilms 4 роки тому +1

      @@pavel.suchkov Basically there's an audio offset setting within OBS whereby you can get the audio to sync up - generally speaking though and this is especially true on the Atem mini, if you allow the audio to go through one of the cameras then you may not get audio sync issues. There is a way to measure what the delay is - it involves recording a time-sync clock within OBS (ua-cam.com/video/s_PbyRpKrRk/v-deo.html) and take the footage quickly into post to see the delay between the pips and when the clock hits zero - you then set that offset delay within OBS and you'll have synced audio.

    Glad I watched this. I am not quite sure I understood how the late panda works. Are you going to use an external monitor for it? I would love this build for a LIVe stream business I intend to start. I currently do LIVE streaming for church. (Rev. Dodzweit Achero ). Then to stream, are you connecting the USB from the web presenter to another computer or does it go to the latapanda?

    • @the101connection
      @the101connection  5 років тому +2

      Hi Carringtone
      Thanks for your message. I run the LattePanda through the ATEM and select it on my duo monitor to make it easier to see when I want to use it (I select it on the preview side of my duo monitor). I have video backgrounds loaded on it to play on upstream keyer for green screen work and I also use it to log into my website were I run a countdown clock for the start of live events. Will be doing a video on that shortly. Also it can access clients websites if they want it projected on the main screen at an event.
      I do live stream events and yes I run the usb cable to a seperate laptop and use OBS to stream. The setup gives great flexibility for multiple cameras, running powerpoint presentations and also gives me a multiview output to a larger external monitor and a Program output to a larger external monitor. With the Program output I use a splitter so as I can run the program out to a projector for the client.
      Buy installing the Studio Mini I can record the whole event for the client as well.
