What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! bat-a-rang bolas would be sick and his ult? perfect. Although I also feel Ullr wouldn't be a bad batman either with his ult making him capable of ranged and melee combat and granting him 3 more abilities (like batman's belt). Odyssey 2017???

He does have more ability healing than Thanatos, however, which is saying something.

Looking back at old god releases is crazy. I can’t believe it has been 3 years since Camazots release. He was the first god release I was around for that I wanted to buy day 1 and all the new gods after have been really cool as well. I haven’t played in some time and since moving to pc I don’t have my ultimate god pack but I’m thinking about getting it again because Cthulhu released. This game holds so much nostalgic memory for me and I love it a ton. Glad it’s seeing a player base rise.
I love how these have been getting more and more informative as they go on.

It only goes over certain walls, which is kind of a bummer, considering that bats are some of the most mobile creatures.

Lore lady did good in this reveal
The lore is wrong, Hunahpu and Xbalanque actually hid in their blowpipes and after Camazotz took Hunahpu's head he carried to the Mesoamerican ballcourt to be used as a ball in the next ballgame.

I find the HPS item that grants increased speed after you heal is INCREDIBLY powerful especially when there’s a bloodbath on the field. While u drink you can leave each pool with a speed boost that u can replenish by walking over another pool once (each pool u can drink from 10 times)

a god I really wanted from day 1. ult is simple.. he turns into the world serpent and devours an enemy god completely. essentially a 1 shot with a long cool down and it weakens him. I'm just messing around but an ult with some kinda caliber like that

That wouldn't actually work for a number of reasons. It would be fun, but not the best build.
Well obviously not in league, but I've made more dumb builds than that, that have worked in league
While lifesteal and fatalis are probably terrible ideas on him, I would love to see someone try out Thebes on this guy. He has so much ability healing, and synergy with his passive that already gives him up to 20% additional healing.

Jesus Christ when are they gonna make Set? Isis and Ra have been around for so long so it's surprising Set hasn't been confirmed yet. I'm glad Thoth has been confirmed (finally) but Set is taking too long. Set is a Major god along with Ra, Isis, Odin, Loki, Hades, and Poseidon. He should've been released way before Chronos and Chang'e.
Well,he's actually confirmed to be in the game along with Geb's wife Nut but unfortunately we still have no information about when he will be in the game.you can check Osiris' and Isis' directed taunts both of them have directed taunt for Seth while Geb have a directed taunt for his wife
Horus is also pretty important in the Egyptian pantheon
The yellow emperor is the main god in the chinese pantheon and they still haven't released him. So i feel they should release him first.
Yeah Horus is super important. But each culture has its main trio.
Set, Isis,Ra
Odin,Loki,Thor
Zeus,Poseidon,Hades
Out of those 9 Set STILL isn't in the game yet lol.
All of those are the "main trio" of the respective cultures only according to popular culture.
In order of how much these deities were actually celebrated:
In Egypt it was Amun, Ra, Min and Horus, followed by Osiris, Isis, Ptah, and Bast.
In Scandinavia it was Odin, Freya, Hel, followed by Thor, Freyr, Njord and the three Norn.
In Greece it was Zeus, Athena and Apollo/Helios followed by Demeter, Artemis, Poseidon and Dionysos.

To be hounest I was hoping they would add a Kitsune for the japanese pantheon since they are everywhere in japanese and chinese lore.
Think about it, a Kitsune 'God' could have a kit like this:
1. Decoy similar to loki but doesnt damage and taunts enemy gods in its range
2. A slash like attack that hits up to three times
3. A self buff, increses the number of tails a Kitsune has therefore increasing their attack power/mana if they hit an ability to a god and they die
4. Copies any other God's ult or entire kit for x amount of seconds. Each Copy resets all the tails of a Kitsune so the more tails the stronger the copy is AND the copy is fairly weaker than the original kit.

in the myth, Xbalanque replaces his head with a jar. He's also associated with the ball game so I was thinking they could make a moveset where he uses his head as a football to strike them with it

How to do Judeo-Christian in the game:
Don't make Yahweh a playable character. Furthermore, make every religion's supreme God the same being. That way no one is pissed.
Focus on Angels and demons, and maybe some heroes like Samson and David.
Plenty of awesome chars to add from Lucifer, Michael, Samael, Lilith, Metatron, Gabriel, Beelzebub... The list is endless.

The Illuminati Yeah, like a small aoe where he kills champs under 25% hp and do 500 magic damage and slow those above the limit.
he executed God's under 15%. but he was easy to knock of because his ult didn't help him sustain enough to stop him from losing the 25% health needed to knock him off.

This is gonna be great, I used to main baka but he fell off for me this season, my playstyle wasn't all too viable thanks to item changes and such. This guy puts everything I lost with baka back into contention.

+Daniel Liu that's because ppl barely use Hindu God's compared to the others and it's hard to decide what Hindu God's and goddesses are fit for the game. The fact that the Japanese pantheon is new is why they should still be getting God's and most Japanese God's and goddesses can fit in the game. They could easily make Fujin (Raijins brother).

Actually, the majority of the Hindu gods are quite played, especially by pros. Agni, Rama, Ravana and Vamana are seen often.
I know pros play them but random battles it's usually the assassins and Rams that you see.

I'm sorry but hi rez needs more creativity with designing new gods. When you look at it in certain point, most of the gods are just the same thing all over again. They don't feel different from eachother. I press 3 my god jumps, i press 1 my god throws some projectile
That's what I like about League. Riot is very good at creating unique concepts and gameplay with each new champion. Hi-rez needs to take a lesson from Riot games.
League players care to much about a meta for the characters unique traits to matter. It doesn't matter how unique your champ is if you have to play the same lane every time, nothing really unique about it.
