The professor is wrong about entropy (even 12th-class student knows who studied physics). She is very confused between what is the system in the laws of thermodynamics. The entropy of the whole system increases. But we can reduce the entropy of some part of it at the expense of increasing it in other parts of the system. So if you launch a rocket, for sure you are reducing the entropy but you are increasing the entropy of its surroundings. But you won't notice as the surroundings is immense. How did she even receive her Ph.D.?

You could just quote the anthropic principle when the fine tuning argument comes in. the anthropic principle can be expanded to explain why universe exists, or stars exist or life sustaining planets exist.

Whenever someone says quantum mechanics, they must also tell us what other kind of mechanics exist. and where they apply and why. else we already know that they dont know about the other 2 or 4 or 5 different types of mechanics one can study at high school or engineering level.

If a omnipotent omniscient entity exists and it intends to create us, then it is logically impossible for life to not exist, no matter different configurations or set up of laws of physics.
But observation tells us that it is impossible for life to exist, if changes occur in the laws of physics just like the video claims

When the theist claims that the universe is fine tuned for life,
It implies a creator who had finely tuned the fundamental constants and laws of physics so that it is possible for life to emerge.
Making such a claim also implies that it is highly improbable for life to emerge without any such fine tuning.
But a omnipotent, omniscient creator by very nature/definition can create a universe where life can exist no matter the differential configurations of constants and laws of physics itself. In other words there is no need for fine tuning if the creator is omnipotent and omniscient in the first place
Think angels which are disembodied minds, if such entities can exist no matter how different the laws of physics could become (these entities don't have a corporeal form and are intangible)
What I mean to say is you cannot claim that the universe is fine tuned by God as an argument since such a god can create Life without any need for fine tuning

For the entropy argument, most physics we know breaks down at a singularity so talking about it is meaningless as it is known that are theories fail at that point. Also for any spontaneous process, the entropy of the universe increases. As we are living in an expanding universe, we can safely say that the process was spontaneous. This means that every interval we go back in time, entropy decreases. This however does not mean that it was zero at the point of the big bang. Entropy is naturally low at lower volumes since the number of positional microstates the gas van occupy is low. So any small volume will have a low entropy whether or not a creator made it that way
Also measurements can be made by sensors and robots. Concious observer not needed. Some might say the data will be read by humans only, but even if that doesn't happen, let's say it's just stored on a hard disk somewhere, the observation has been made, by a unconscious observer nonetheless

I would like to state some facts about entropy and the anthropic principle, since I feel they were not properly explained in this video.
The laws of physics can be broadly divided into two categories: Those that obey time reversal symmetry and those that do not. Newton’s laws of mechanics are an example of the former and the second law of thermodynamics is an example of the latter. For any closed system, equilibrium is the state of the highest probability and entropy is a measure of the deviation from equilibrium. If you start off from a random state, it is equally probable for the system to go to a low entropy state or a high entropy state, thus obeying the time reversal symmetry. But this is not what we observe in the world and the universe at large. We observe a direction of time, a direction in which entropy only increases. This is possible only if the universe started off with a low entropy state, a state which is highly improbable for the universe taken as a closed system. As of now, we don’t know why the universe started off in a highly improbable state. But as Pranav says, postulating the existence of a creator to explain this observation only raises more questions.
The anthropic principle has broadly two versions, namely the weak and the strong. The strong anthropic principle states that human existence causes the universe to be in a certain way, which is what I think the lady states in this video. The weak anthropic principle says that human existence, or rather, the existence of life is an observed fact and this observation puts certain constraints on the properties of the universe. Both versions of the anthropic principle are scientific, but the strong version is not very useful. The weak version is useful in making predictions and has been used by scientists. The most popular example is the use of the principle by Fred Hoyle to predict resonance in an isotope of carbon, which was later found to be correct. Another example is you can predict that the cosmological constant has to be small but positive since if it is large and negative, then the universe would have collapsed long ago and if it were large and positive, then it would have expanded at a much faster rate, not allowing even stars to form. The anthropic principle is controversial in the scientific community because it is combined sometimes with the multiverse hypothesis, which is unscientific, to explain the values of the fundamental constants we observe in the universe.
