The dishwasher is probably a roll up. They aren't hooked up to the water. It's on little wheels and you roll it over to the sink and pull a hose out and hook it up to the faucet. I had an old one from the 70s. It was a beast and lasted for years. It must of been almost 40 years old before it died.

Or just a regular freestanding one? Its not built into a counter cupboard, but can be placed under a section of countertop or just in some spare space. It's what we have and its plumbed in properly, no wheels or need to empty into the sink. Perhaps its not as common in America or elsewhere, but here its quite common to have a freestanding dishwasher since it doesn't require a whole kitchen makeover. The only difference between them and the built in versions is that they have finished sides to match the front (so like whole unit is white) instead of the bare metal sheets which are usually hidden by the units. Of course there are then the fully integrated ones where the fronts are hidden by a cupboard door to match the rest of the units, but that requires having your entire kitchen redone so... kinda expensive.
@@AlexaFaie That sounds very practical. I've never seen one of those in the US. The roll up kind are cheaper, but a pain to use. You have to have an adapter for the faucet to hook it up to the water when you want to run a load. The tops are usually some kind of counter material so you can use the surface to prep on. They are great if you rent and can't change anything but want a dishwasher.
