My father was in the peacekeeping force sent to the region by the United Nations. In 1974, after the Turkish intervention in Cyprus, they examined the mass graves in the region and found many mass graves where dozens of Turks were buried. I have international beliefs but any impartial person will accept that there were legitimate reasons for this occupation
Many tourists coming to North Cyprus over Turkey by charter flights and they are all visiting the South Cyprus and then turn back to north side, so don’t worry about passing border crossings. Everything is legal in Cyprus and both sides aware of it. In the meantime cyprus problem is very complex and difficult to solve it. That’s why we cannot stop people visiting each sides. Just enjoy visiting both sides. ✌️🇹🇷🇨🇾
You forgot the double standard against Turkish citizens. We cannot visit South Cyprus directly. First we have to go to Greece and apply for its special visa. Also if you have the stamp of Northern cyprus in your passport, you cannot enter greece. However greek people can visit anywhere with only their IDs, yet they have the audacity to claim that theyre always the victim.
perhaps its a conflict rather than a crisis. To be precise, historically, Cyprus was part of the Ottoman Empire until 1878, when it came under British administration. In 1925, it became a British Crown Colony. During British rule, Greek Cypriots sought Enosis (union with Greece), while Turkish Cypriots supported Taksim (partition of the island) to protect their interests. Cyprus gained independence from Britain, forming a power-sharing arrangement between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots under a constitution supported by Greece, Turkey, and the UK as guarantor powers. In 1974, A coup by the Greek military junta aimed at unifying Cyprus with Greece triggered a Turkish military intervention, citing its role as a guarantor power. Turkey seized control of the northern third of the island, dividing Cyprus.
Reaaaaly interesting. And well done, including your good sound track 👍. Great job. I don’t want you to go in harm’s way but we’ve been to Sarajevo, which was chill but with a really dark past, and Belfast, a little less chill partly because they still have a huge wall between certain parts of the Catholic and Protestant sides, where they close the gates at night. You might find both places interesting.

Cyprus is part of the EU, but it is not in Schengen area and only this is important for entering a country.
