Still one of my favorite subversions. I caught on that chapters 1-4 were semi tutorials each focusing on a specific mechanic, and with a lack of magic in ch1 which I presumed was the 'teach you the basics' chapter, I figured ch2 would focus on magic. And following early JRPG tropes I assumed Princess + Funny Hat = Magic User. Needless to say, that thought went out the already broken wall that Alena REbroke and *then* the magic users joined.

In French, her name is Lord Lionel (bonjour les anglophones), and i remerber using cheats to try to killing him , but thats no work and after 2hours, i understanding how to beat him :"just dying ,lol" And I believed that it was also necessary to die during the second fight against him.So painful moments during my childhood ... But i finished the game after 80 hours , i loved so much this game
I just beat Leon yesterday with Hero, Meena, Maya, and Ragnar! It felt super triumphant! Having Meena focus on healing while Maya sap away Leon's defense and casting huge fireball makes the fight alot easier. If possible, equip the Hero or Ragnar with Dragonbane to end the fight under 10 turns!
@@pkmusik3026 NOPE! Out of DQ4, DQ5, and DQ6 the boss themes get worse in my opinion so of course out of those 3 DQ4's is the best I mean of course it is!

You mean, you get to control Kiryl and not have cast Thwack on bosses? In all seriousness, this song is great, and unlike the NES version, I found every character in this game to be useful.
Not sure if I fully agree on which game is better, but yeah, Dragon Quest is hugely underappreciated compared to FF. FF is good, but DQ kinda outclasses it in every conceivable way.
Gareth Rice I respectfully disagree with the plot, and Dragon Quest has also built upon its tried and true gameplay. As I said, I don’t think FF is bad in any way, but I find the characters, story and gameplay better in Dragon Quest
It was a good move to have a boss music rather than using the same old normal battle music. If you havent noticed, it is based off the normal battle theme, just like how they did in DQ8
@supremakey: Each character group on the cover (Ragnar McRyan, Alena, Mina/Maya, Solo and Torneko) are the 'main characters' of their respective chapters. Healie isn't a 'major' character, so can be left off.
Yeah DQ11 kind of dropped the ball when it came to music. It's even worse if you played the original game since the soundtrack is midi. Not that there's anything wrong with midi itself but the samples used sucked ass.
@@cypher838 In terms of compositions that originate from DQ11 and not previous games (the majority of the music used in DQ11 is from prior games) I disagree. It's not bad but it's not as good as prior entries imo.
This wasn't in the Dragon Warrior IV I know and love. :( Where's the continuous, rolling battle music complete with crescendos? This doesn't capture the feelings from the original game at all to me. I wish they could have just released the original game on the DS. That would be easier for them and better to introduce new players (kids) to the feelings that come with the game.
I would’ve never guessed how much of an absolute BEAST Alena is just by looking at her
Pint sized powerhouses (especially the cute female kind) are a perfectly tolerable break from reality for me.
Always had her in my main team when they got together. She is the damage dealer.
Looks like a mage, but is a powerful martial artist. Give her the Falcon Knife Earrings, and she'll be wrecking foes, even Metal Slimes!

This brings back flashbacks of fighting Marquis de Léon. *shudders That fight was hard as fuck.
please don't remind me....that was a dark time in my life
Even with Falcon Blade once i won from casino, Marquis de Leon still not easy to chew.
IF RitoruDemon Best fight in the game. Really satisfying beating him.

Final Fantasy IV begs to differ.;)

Dear lord, the liftoff, that bass, that drumroll, the way it never feels too uptight but still lets you know it's a boss...damn.
My favorite boss theme out of the DS remake trilogy
gamerprince1999 agreed. Has such a classic old school Rpg vibe.
Personally my favorite boss theme from this game series.
I have yet to play DQVI, and I actually played the NEE version of this game instead of this one, but honestly I currently prefer DQV’s overall.
1:01 You're welcome
Dragonquest/warrior 4 is one of my all time favorite rpgs.

What an epic boss theme, really sets the mood for a big battle.
this version of this theme is LEGENDARY!
Damn, the bass in this track really slaps! :D
Damn straight!!
Kochi Sugiyama became MJ in this track. 🔥
DAT BASS
It's a boss battle about nothing! *cue the Seinfeld slap bass riff*
But it's all about DAT Bass
I'm amazed a JRPG has some nasty ass bass riffs
Why do you like bass?
@@Disembow1280 What's the deal with Psaro?!
What a weird combination of styles.... It works though! First disco/orchestrated boss battle I've heard and it's pretty epic!
I feel that this song perfectly captures everything necessary for a boss theme. Also, it's quite catchy!
Shit's going down with an intro like that
hero casts ~ gigasword, kuryll casts ~ kybuff, boyra casts ~ acclelerattle - everyones agility goes up, Raygnar attacks.
Dragon quest boss music
1# DQ4
2# DQ8
3# DQ Monster Joker

Wow. Now that's what I hear now.
Very close to psx version, has improvement. Great music.

I love the bass but damn those drums 🤤
this is my favorite of all the DQ boss themes
this theme gets me so hyped
This is only the boss theme, the normal "rolling crescendos" battle theme is still heard a lot throughout the game~
My fav DQ boss theme
There's a song in Shiren 2/N64 who has a similar composition to this one.
It's not surprising since the both of them were composed by Sugiyama.
Really now? I'll check it out thank you
DA DA DA DADA DAAAA HMPH HMPH HMPH! :D
Psaro is back in DQM: The Dark Prince!
Although HotHB is way better than CotC, i think this is the bettr boss theme by far.

I want to hear this in DQ Builders 2
Either as a boss or midboss theme
one of my fav. boss music from DQ
Marquis de Léon's theme because you'll probably be hearing it a few times given his ice breath is incredibly cheap.
Frfr. I spent an hour on him during my first playthrough
Someone needs to extend this
I Really Love this song but every time i hear the symphonic version it sounds like classical to me
負けイベントのキングレオを思い出すなぁ
I love Maya and Alena
@KarateCop Wow, that really is an improvement. The only way to top that is to have an orchestra play it!
WTF WHY ISNT HEALIE ON THE COVER?!?!?!
I agree with you all the way!
First time i finished this game i felt dissapointed after feeling that the most optimal lineup is with all the chapter 2 characters
Anyone else hear Dead Or Alive?
