    Very neat job fitting in your own 3D design 'interfaces', that you almost casually introduced.
    And agreed on your blinker choice, obviously!

      It's pretty nice 😊 I guess the big indicators are a bit charming, but I am probably saving 1 kilo of weight by putting on smaller ones - less weight = more performance 😁

      @mikewilson631 5 місяців тому +2

      Not the only one. As the primary reason for indicators is to get your intentions through to other road users, even those texting/sleeping/daydreaming, there is no such thing as an indicator that is too big or too bright. I recently improved the wiring on my machine so that the puny, ridiculous 10W bulbs (same as above?) could be replaced with 21W ones. Indicators are flexibly mounted to preserve the bulb filaments. Changing that might compromise bulb life, so I would keep a careful watch on them. LEDs might be useful in this instance, with their sudden on/off characteristics. They are just too puny and directional at the moment.

      Also, it is the visibility of the object, the smaller it is the brighter it needs to be to be as visible and most don't pass that criteria.

    Really good video! I think it was interesting how you arrived at your solution and was especially impressed that you printed adapters to make the blinkers work on your bike. Personally, I would have used the big, stock blinkers but shortened the stalks to bring them in close to the fairing and fender. I just think the larger size would be more visible. Thanks as always for your videos. They are really fun and interesting!

      Thanks Dennis 😊 I will actually try to find a set of the original rear indicators so I have a full set. It's hard to come by used parts for this bike though. I might switch back to the original ones some time in the future, would have been nice to find some shrinked 80% with half sized arm 🤩

    Great choice, to go with the more retro looking blinkers. Good thing you got 8 if half of them are crooked :D I love having a 3d printer for stuff like that. That way you don't need to spend hundreds on premium parts...you just upgrade them yourself. Already looking forward to the next video.

    • @kihestad
      @kihestad  5 місяців тому

      Yes, I think having 8 of them can be handy because of the non-premium-quality 😝 3D printing is quite useful. I have just an old Ender 3-Pro, slightly upraged. I think you have a newer model from what I can see from your videos. It works for now, but an upgrade to a bigger one is on my wish list 🤞

    @Ki Hestad => The medium indicators looks better and the smaller indicators that you installed first will not be very visable in foggy or cloudy conditions...the medium the indicators is better and you will be noticed in those conditions. Not a boring video, but actually very informative and it's nice to see the bike coming together.

      21w should be pretty bright, perhaps the indicator switch, the wiring/connected or relay is old and worn? Might be the bulb is not really getting 12V. LED replacement bulbs might exist, depends on type of bulb you got

    5:55 not at all. they have to design around the indicators that are by law required. the indicators are never the base or ground or reason for any design on any roadbike but to as low drag as the light emitter and design will allow for. if the makers had the choice they would either not be there or be integrated in the body for better looking design and less drag.
    thats the only reason. . .

      Also has to do with the visibility of the object, the smaller it is the brighter it needs to be to be as visible and most don't pass that criteria like the larger blinker housing.
      A lot of aftermarket items you can buy are not good, but some want that modern look.
