Lee Jung-jae was the reason why I watched this show. Qimir a close second. Shame Sol had to be ended. The writing in this show is terrible but the fights were really good. I am not invested in the "twins" though, they were the weakest parts of this series.

He was under the false assumption that Anisaya & her coven were united in their malicious plot to use the twins, not knowing that Anisaya was benevolent in her intent. He also mistakenly assumed that Anisaya was trying to harm Osha.
And when he intended to confess his mistakes to the Council he was guilt tripped by Indara into falsifying his account to spare Osha more pain.
@@sonamtashi7706 Anisaya literally threatened to kill them, never specifying what she was really doing in that world and the problem with her is that they literally almost killed Torbin because of a tantrum, and Sol didn't kill her out of rage, he defends himself against her.
I knew Sol was gonna die but was not expecting it to be such a cruel fate. Not only is he slowly strangled to death but it's done by Osha. The person he arguably cared about the most. And on top of that Master Vernestra turns him into the scapegoat for everything. Telling the senate he snapped and killed everyone. He will now forever be remember as a mass murdering villian and nothing else
Likely the show will end after this season and nothing from it will be referenced again

Sol showed kindness and compassion. He was the Qui Gon Jin of this era. This show honestly made me dislike the Jedi order and how they blamed it on him to hide their corruption and failures.

Part of the problem wasn’t just the murder. It was the lying and the cover up, specifically the lying to Osha. That was objectively not the right thing to do.

This series should have been about Sol and Master Indara, investigating stuff around the galaxy and eventually facing Qimir and his master. No need for the twins or the witches plot line. Indara and Sol had good chemistry and Qimir is a badass Sith apprentice, leaving room for imagination about how powerful was his master.
The fights are easily the best part of this show. In a vacuum, they would be the best thing Disney has put out in AT LEAST 5 years.

Yeah, but unfortunately, it isn't. A few good lightsaber fights can't undo 8 episodes of bad and incoherent storytelling. Nor do they negate all the chaos this show created around the lore and history of SW.

I rather liked Sol but I guess it makes sense that he excepted Oshas' judgment to kill him. His guilt causing him to lose the will to live or fight against Osha.
He probably felt extremely guilty about failing her. But he was the best part of this series. I'm really sad he's gone.

Agreed Disney SW lightsaber fights in live action just felt sluggish compared to this still prefer the prequel saber fights but this is one of the better saber fights Disney has done and one of this show's few redeeming qualities.
The Acolyte is definitely getting us closer to the fights of the prequel era. I really enjoyed the lightsaber duels in this show. First time I can genuinely say that about a Disney show.

Even though Sol won the fight twice against Qimir, Qimir also won the fight as he mentally got the upper hand when he managed to turned Osha against Sol and killed him, Qimir's strength and advantage is manipulation

This was the absolutely best display of a Jedi Master handling a powerful enemy in any SW Live action
Sol deserved a better ending. I didn’t like it that Osha killed him without him having a chance to explain. He didn’t kill the mother on purpose that night but Mae framed it during the confrontation as though he did. Lee’s portrayal of Sol was amazing and should have been kept through to Season 2. I don’t like how the story went and ended so far.
He literally explained everything that he thought he needed to. He died thinking that he did the right thing, but accepted his death because he knew he'd been lying about the truth behind Aniseya's death for 16 years

@@JamesIsAway I don’t disagree, but he panicked that evening when she did her magic mojo which freaked all of them out that led to him stabbing the mother out of impulse. With the fire and tense situation that night he didn’t know what was going to happen. He didn’t get to say this to Osha and with the current writing she just thought Sol killed the mom out of murderous intent that evening. That’s the misunderstanding which I’m referring to that Sol didn’t get a chance to explain. That’s why the story could have ended a lil better man.
@@gqwong3423 I understand the circumstances of the night, but the fact remains that Sol had 16 years to justify himself (understandably being threatened by Aniseya’s witch magic) but chose instead to try to bury the whole situation and train Osha as a Jedi, thinking that she would develop normally if she just didn’t know. He didn’t “get the chance to explain” because he never thought it was worth explaining (until the very end), and that was very wrong
I didn't catch at first that Quimir tried to headbutt Sols saber when they were locked up but Sol quickly turned it off and threw him off balance. Great detail.

He literally needed to die for the overarching plot to make sense. That "kill a Jedi without a lightsaber" mission had to be fulfilled one way or another. There was literally no way he was making it out of this show alive as soon as Mae revealed the 4 Jedi she was targeting

The fight scenes are so good but it’s such a shame they’re paired with such a POOR story! Imagine if the show was JUST Sol and the Jedi Order vs Qimir, no twins no witches, it would’ve been an EASY slam dunk!!!

@@hang1893 underdeveloped characters, characters constantly changing motivations on a dime, cheap character cameos, really bad pacing across episodes, episodes being way too short, needless story bloat (Sol says “I’m gonna tell you the truth” as a cliffhanger like twice in a row in episodes) inconsistent storytelling (Witches believe in Power of Many yet all of them are instantly killed by ONE Jedi) the terrible Power of Many chant, the Twins having a lame backstory, Them not explaining how Mae survived the Fall, Sol killing the mother being contrived as hell, not explaining where the horned witch lady went, Osha being seduced by a dude who just killed multiple friends of hers just a few hours ago, Osha and Mae’s turns do not resonate well, also Qimir being the Stranger and Vernerstra being his master was predictable as hell, Sol being killed felt like a waste (and not in a good way) and of course Mae cutting her hair off with a lightsaber among others

They had to cover up somehow that the sith remains uncovered in front of the Jedi. But I agree, the show made Sol's character dirty and I'm upset as well.
솔직히 솔과 카이미르 중심으로 이야기를 썼다면 더 좋았을 것 같음. 오샤와 메이 라인은 전혀 궁금하지 않았고, 전회차에 걸쳐 가장 큰 변화를 보이는 건 마스터 솔이라서 난 주인공이 솔이라고 생각했음. 마지막에 오샤의 선택이 급발진처럼 보이는 것도 전체적으로 차근차근 밑밥을 깔아둔 게 아니라서 그런 거임. 회차가 적어서 그런 건가 얼레벌레 만든 느낌이 들었음. 현장에서 대본도 많이 바뀐 거라던데… 이정재와 매니 저신토 이 두 사람 아니었으면 이 시리즈 큰일날 뻔했음.
@@hohomon 정말입니다. 쌍둥이는 전혀 궁금하지도 않았고 보고 싶지도 않았어요. 카이미르는 그렇게 이 악물고 쌍둥이 죽이려고 난리치다가 갑자기 오샤로 갈아탄 것도 도저히 모르겠고, 오샤는 요드와 제키와 다른 제다이들을 몰살시키고 메이를 죽이려는 걸 눈앞에서 빤히 보고도 갑자기 카이미르에게 반해서 아버지 같은 솔을 내던지고 남자 따라갔고, 메이는 둘이나 죽여 놓고 갑자기 착한 척을 하질 않나. 과거 마녀들을 1도 괴롭히지 않았던 켈나카는 왜 켈나카 평생 보도듣도 못했던 카이미르에게 죽었는지. 뭐 하나 이해가 안 갑니다.
그리고 딸바보 같았던 솔버지는 정말 오샤를 사랑했으면 거기서 죽어주면 안 되는 거였고, "너네 엄마가 갑자기 후와악! 악마로 변해서 너희를 죽이는 줄 알았다고! 이건 오해였어! 진짜 악마강림인 줄 알았단 말이다! 그건 메이도 봤잖아!" 그 한 마디는 왜 못했는지 모르겠고. 캐릭터는 막판에 왜 그렇게 캐붕시켰는지도 모르겠고.
현장에서 대본도 많이 바뀐거면 뭐 선장이 많아서 배가 산으로 간 격이려나요. 아무튼 진짜 pip보다 연기 못하는 여자 주인공이라니 다시는 보고 싶지 않아요. 시즌 2가 나온다면 감독과 작가와 배우는 확실히 바꾸고 갔으면 싶었습니다. (그냥 시즌2 안 나왔으면 좋겠음) 그래서 오샤와 메이와 카이미르. 자기들 살인은 착한 살인? 역겨워요 진짜.
If they had just gotten rid of the weird space lesbian witch smoke monsters and made it more of a thriller focusing on Sol, then this could've worked honestly. Not sure how they could've fucked this up so badly but they did
A lot of people hate this show, but I think it left off in an exciting direction. I'd like to see the sith training between Osha and Qimir and discover the relationship between Plagueis and Qimir. I am also curious as to why Vernestra was so shocked that her "old" padwan was still alive. Did she think she had killed him or that he is past his normal life expectancy as a human. 🤔

I agree...they did end it in an exciting direction because: 1.) The cameo of a certain Sith Lord whose apprentice would rise and lead to the downfall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire and 2.) The cameo of a certain Jedi whose apprentice would rise up and help in bringing an end to the Empire.
I my opinion, I think they did set up the course of events that will ultimately lead to Order 66 pretty good. I mean if you think about it...with the discovery of Mae and Osha, two sisters created through the Force through midichlorian manipulation and with Osha now training under Qimir, who is Plagueis' first apprentice it seems, I see this as how he obtains the knowledge of midichlorian manipulation to create life and after obtaining that knowledge, kills them both because he has no need for them anymore and armed with this knowledge, looks for a new apprentice who he can pass this on to, which is where Palpatine comes into play, as we all know due to the story of 'The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise' that Palpatine tells Anakin in Episode III.

It's kind of hard not to when this is one of the only good scenes in the show. People are upset they didn't write the script as well as the choreography, and this scene exemplifies it
The saber fighting scene looks better than the Disney movie trilogy.
Best Jedi vs. Sith battles in the entire Star Wars saga so far.
No matter what you think of the show, you have to admit that this fight was epic. Finally the Jedi and Sith are fighting at full speed again like they did in the prequels.
Thing I really like about The Acolyte was that they leaned more to the swift and agile lightsaber fighting like we saw in the prequels instead of the light bat action that we saw in the sequel trilogy plus all the series up to Ahsoka
This is the lightsaber dual I expected to see in the sequel.

If you look closely, Sol did trakata (a forbidden move) the moment qimir wanted to strike it with his helmet ! I only caught this detail after watching x4 ! Beautiful fight scene with much to breakdown !

This character is also very poorly written because he doesn't act like a Jedi in many situations. I like the actor though. But if you think about it, only the male Jedi act like idiots or weak personalities. Torben simply committed suicide. Sol is emotionally unstable and also commits a kind of suicide. The black guy (I don't even remember his name) is probably the dumbest person in the series. Then this “assistant” of Venestra who seems and acts like a weak nerd. There was also another super fat male Jedi like any idiot can become one. And the Jedi Wookie dying in his chair. Nah, the showrunners hate men. Tell me what you want.

I don't know, friends, the fights in this series have FASCINATED me, I know, the script can be mediocre, the acting of certain actors is insufficient, conveniences that always were and always will be, and even so with all the sensationalist controversies of The series, the truth is, I have enjoyed it, the thing is that both Qimir and Sol have been my favorite characters in this series, they are the ones who have carried the weight of the series and I am very grateful to the person in charge of the battle choreographies, really, ALL MY APPLAUSE TO THAT GUY.
Do I expect a season 2? YES, all for Darth Plagueis The Wise!!!

Enjoyed this series but the standout was the fight choreography, brought a freshness to SW fighting that’s been missing for a while.
If only sol was a character in literally any other show.
This lightsaber fight is definitely second to Obi-Wan vs Anakin. In my opinion.

I'm glad Qimir has quite a few masked scenes in this episode. I was afraid he was going to ditch the mask completely. Masked Qimr is one of my favorite sith designs now and i'm glad it is featured heavily is this episode. Also, his voice when masked is very good.

Ahsoka vs maul and rebels fights much better ik it animation. This is best live action choreography if not counting the motion capture in TCW. Hopefully this shit doesn’t get season 2 tho

I was fine with everything until this episode.
They wanted to form an idea of Sol as an unapologetic villain. WHAT LESSON ARE YOU EVEN TRYING TO TELL???
He acted in self defense, because he didn't understand what the smoke thing was for and decided to act in the event it was to harm who he thought was Osha. The witches did that to Kelnacca, and they once again defended themselves. But Sol in flawed but good conscience could have been apologetic and said it didn't have to happen because they could've gone about it better and not acted in fear without knowing what the witches were planning to do to them. That they told themselves it was for Osha but the guilt is overbearing, it was wrong to LIVE with a lie while carrying themselves as Jedi, they were wrong to lie about something so huge the whole time and is thankful that he is forced to tell the truth now and that he was never the Master Osha thought he was and for that he is remorseful. Then he explains the WHOLE THING, but Osha still feeling rageful and after consideration cuts him down with conviction THEN kills him and has some bit of regret but not much. Scratch that, walking away from Sol's corpse like that, it should NOT have been that easy no matter what is true about him given their history. And Mae and Osha were at each others' throats their ENTIRE LIVES. Now magically, Mae is so selfless for Osha. Accidentally started a fire and sabotaged Osha more than once, give me a break. And NEITHER knows the whole story either. Then green lady throws SOL under the bus because she has something to hide, which is an even worse lie than Sol and the other 3. Whoever wrote this story has no idea of story structure, respect to characters and audience satisfaction, as well as emotional intelligence and how people actually respond to, are affected by and deal with things.
Mae has done nothing to get my sympathies. She murdered Jedi tried to kill osha and has lied and deceived everyone since the beginning. It feels like the only reason we should feel sorry for her is that she is OSHA’s sister. And your right they magically make up in the end when it doesn’t feel earned
No that's the whole point. He's not an unapologetic villain. That's the message of the show. The show is saying that he did a lot of questionable stuff even though his intentions were good. He definitely didn't stick to the code. He's like the opposite of qui gon. Sol and qui gon don't stick to the code. It goes badly for both of them, but we all love qui Gon and many love Sol. But we love them because they aren't perfect jedi. They haven't shut off their emotions to become robots. But what we love isn't what makes a good jedi.

Only good part of the episode, well except pulling the lightsaber toward his helmet, that part was pretty silly, but the duel itself was surprisingly solid (Not quite prequel level good, but not far off) certainly better then any other disney saber duel. Sol and Qimir were easily the best characters in this show too.
I love this show it is the best and all other Star Wars shows are the best 100%.
The series would have had a good final if quimir killed all those jedis except vernestra and sol was my favorite character but he had to die to make the timeline sense after ki adi mundis words in episode 1 he was the only Jedi who knew about the sith so yes sadly he had to go

Dope AF. I loved this episode. I wish people would just shutup and be happy we are getting any new Star Wars at all. I went age 4 to 19 with no new Star Wars. Then from 25 to almost 40 with no new live action. At least we are getting new material to hate on.

Seeing Qi’mir & Sol Lightsaber Duel in this Show was some of the best things about the show. Not just that but the intimidating voice when he wears his Cortosis Helmet is badass too (Almost like Vader)🔥👍
