Nice! I also have the Black Fox grinder and small wheel attachment. Can you show some pictures or even a short video of the work rest you are using in this video? I made something similar but would love to see a little more detail of yours. It is another very simple addition that adds so much functionality.
I've gotten in the habit of just chucking the taps in drill press after I drill the appropriate hole, turn drill press on, add cutting fluid and pull the handle. Shut off drill press at appropriate depth, then manually spin the church to extract the tap. I've done ½-13 in 1½ solid steel bar no issues. Probably wouldn't go below ¼-20. Love the "back of the mind" projects that work out perfectly and make life easier 👌
I ended up with an Ameribrade 2x72. If you order their small wheel attachment, you can choose 0, 1, or 2 deflector wheels. I just went with one because it gets it down 90% of the way.
Excellent idea! Is the fact that the abrasive side is running against your new wheel caused any problems? I realize the wheel is spinning, but I wonder if it's still wearing down the aluminum a bit?
Just my opinion to why it should not be done like this but I may be wrong please correct me if so, The obvious that stands out would be the grit side of the belt will start eating into the added wheel and any foreign matter on the belt will just cause more damage to the out side of the wheel, Have you noticed this issue or not, because i wanted to do this to my machine but for the issue stated above that may occur I am not sure
I want to get into knife making, what are the most essential power tools to start knife making? Also, Have you tried out Alec Steele's 2x72 belt grinder, I hear it is really good.
Hi . Human tools maker. Very good and creative. that was perfect . Thankful
Been watching this channel for years. Jeremy has got some street cred. Good stuff. Worth watching. Worth remembering.
Great video! Cold rolled steel is much more precise with the tolerances than hot rolled steel. Also, much more expensive! You’re right.
Well said
i bought one from TR Maker.. Love it! Good video with a simple solution that makes a huge difference.
Great simple little idea
Still haven't made this but still need to, great video !
I really enjoy your thought processes in these Jeremy. I lear a great bit from these videos. Thank you as always.
Great video, idea, and execution, thank you!

Awesome idea. I may do this on mine
simple but genious !
Check out the Jeremy Schmidt design. Similar. I just built the Jeremy model and getting the tracking on this perfect took some time.

nice idea.
Awesome!
Thank you! 👍
Freaking BRILLIANT!!!
How to rate a project? Count the cuts and divide by the satisfaction of a job well done.

I hope you went and got that cut stitched up man. That looked like a bad one.
The abrasive on the belt hitting your wheel isn’t an issue?
LOL, looking at that tap like it was the taps fault.
Name knife?
👍👍👍👍

it is way overpriced. start with a file jig and sandpaper. (or a 1x30 if you REALLY want a grinder)
A drillpres
@@SzyMoc_ thx
@@dlcknives_and_leather yeah, i was thinking that, a bandsaw, and a belt sander, of course with files, hand tools, and a furnace . . .
So satisfying to scratch an itch so easily, right? ✌
Who else gets dizzy with the image shirt? 😬
