Hi Cash and to your friend very unique tool shed tiny apartment. I like the old town NYC. They have great eateries and shops. The interior is beautiful. Stay well and safe 👍
New york city is destroying itself with expensive upgraded apartments thereby hiking already too costly rent.Greed is destroying the beautiful old structures and people.
It's legally a two-bedroom apartment, and one of those is the access to the outdoor space and the other is right on the street. The outdoor area and the two full baths account for part of the price. If it had laundry machines I'd say it was a decent deal because of all the square footage.
@@charicole7745 I think NYC has very few inspectors, and there are hundreds, even thousands, of housing violations that are never cited. And the landlords know that.
Hmm... I liked the outside area even if it is shared. It felt very tranquil to me. However, having to walk through a designated bedroom to access the outside area would be irksome. I also liked the fact that it had a full bathroom in the basement. But these "no window" spaces aren't appealing to me at all. Surprisingly, I liked the kitchen too. But are you sure that it was a "full-size" fridge? I could see this comfortably working as a roommate situ or even a small family. However, I still feel that $5K/month is a lot of money for a family of 3-4 to pay. Therefore, I think this works much better as a roommate situation. It appears to be a well-kept building. Kudos to the Landlord.
It's overpriced. Especially since they are "fudging" the truth and listing it as a 3 bedroom when that downstairs level technically isn't legally a bedroom since it has no windows. A lot of those places with basements rooms are prone to flooding. Also the outside area would be better if it were partitioned off to designate an area for each rental unit. I've lived into too many places with shared spaces where the neighbors take too many liberties. Plus the outdoor space can only be accessed through a bedroom. I'd pass on this. It has some a few decent features but too many things that don't work for me to shell out $4900 a month
@@femmebrulee5053 It's certainly A LOT of money! Overpriced? I don't know if it is given that area. Yep... with all of these basement spaces a potential renter must now do their own homework about flooding, etc prior to signing any type of lease. Alas... the trials and tribulations of living amongst others!
That backyard is 1 of the nicest we've seen. Definitely roomy enough for outdoor furniture & a grill. While it's semi private I don't think putting up a wall or fence would make it seem as large. The drawback is that you're walking thru someone's bedroom. Putting up a screen by the bed (as Cash suggests) still does not negate the fact that you're walking thru a bedroom.
My app isn't cooperating right now. Anyway....the kitchen is ok, definitely not a full size refrigerator & IMHO the door is opening the wrong way. The glass door cabinets certainly make the kitchen seem brighter but they're not overly functional. I think of them as more display for nice things, not canned food & chips. & was there any outlet on that counter? If the only 1 was right by the stove with that little slice of counter it's an issue. Downstairs definitely isn't a legal bedroom with no window but I'm sure someone would be willing to sleep down there, especially with a full bath just for them. & when the agent was talking about how it's a nice quiet street I had to laugh when the city bus rolled down the street right then. Yes do due diligence about flooding but also investigate how close it is to the Port Authority bus terminal bcuz they will be starting a major update with massive construction. Right now the rent is in line for the area but, later on, who knows.

Scoring the basement would be good if you ask me - live most of your time outside but have a very private area to come home to and sleep. On rainy days hang out upstairs in the common area. Or, like Cash said, stick a few rows of bunk beds and call it a hostel 😅
AWESOME! This is a decent spot. I'd put the kitchen table in the nook, and livingroom next to the breakfast counter. I hate how all these places have outdoor access running through bedrooms...privacy screen is a great solution though, good job Cash! 😅

I can't stop wondering how that motorcycle gets in and out. That alley looked pretty blocked up. 🤔 I worked 2 blocks from here for 17 yrs. A good, central NYC area! Great for food and subway/bus access.
Love the neighborhood, the backyard and the apartment is pretty nice I'll definitely take the basement bedroom so I don't have to be bothered with anyone 😅😊❤
It seems to me that a family of three or four could never afford any of these apartments. Most people aren’t in a position to afford these apartments. But I do love your videos and a tour of New York. I feel that the outrageous rents in most of the cities in this country are pricing out a family home. I feel that this unnecessary cost will bust in a few years. Many landlords are becoming greedy because of the Covid years and now they want more and more money! 😢
If your family had breadwinning adults, they could do what big city people have done for generations before the nuclear family was considered the only family after WWII, and unite for a better life. Immigrants still do this. I hope you care about the epic losses by landlords during covid as well.
I see that the house next door has motorcycle parking 6:33 in their backyard, but I didn't see where is the corridor in this building to bring your motorcycle through. Or do you have to disassemble it and re-build it in the backyard?
This is a one bedroom. I tell you NYorker's will make a bedroom out of anything. I do love it though, semiprivate backyard really nice theater room in the basement secondary living space or mudroom 1 1/2 bath spacious bedroom small but useable kitchen.
Shoot, I used to watch these videos and be surprised by the monthly rent cost. But now, post pandemic, my town in Santa Fe New Mexico, rivals these prices. We’ve had a huge influx of out-of-state, wealthy folks coming in and completely destroying our housing economy. Would’ve never thought that Santa Fe and NYC prices would be comparable.
