Hats off to the designers, creators, seamstresses, hairdressers, and all the skilled hands in charge of dressing up so many actors in all their different roles making this series one of the very best . Same with the interior decoration through the many living quarters in the royal habitats, so elegant and refined, I happen to stop the image while watching sometimes , just to admire it a bit longer !! 😊
Totally, it is a 300mil production after all. They tried their best to recreate the costumes etc according to historical records and paintings. Though the story is fabricated. I enjoyed very much too!

Hongli is long gone . He is now the emperor who thinks he is the world. Through the course of the drama , all the complications and emperor's mentality caused their love to fade away in the end. And before death , Emperor regretted having no one beside him who would actually love him without any scheme and calculation.

The maid is human too. Nobody talked about how he just let her neel when she was sick and supposed to be resting, if it was one of the wife's or a royalty he would have stop them right away and instructed them to rest and take care of themselves.
I thought the same but I guess at that time it was normal to think that not all humans are the same, sThe emperor is the most virtuous, righteous, honest, wise, ect while the others are all those things in lesser levels depending on their place in the hierarchy and that was a justification to not to treat everyone with the same consideration and rights.
Though I totally get she's human, she's just eating her own fruit. After all she thought she could be noble if she got rid of Ruyi who was her family more than her mistress. Plus she's became a tyrant bullying the servants while forgetting she was one of them not long ago. It's only just to remind her her place since she is disrespectful.
