From experience as this happened to me yesterday, if you try to place the SE 2020 battery in an SE 2022 (it does fit if you force it) it will turn on but the reading will show as 0% and won't show charging at all. The voltages on the batteries are very slightly different - 3.82V vs 3.88V nominal respectively, and charging 4.35V vs 4.47V, and that very small difference totally throws out the reading. So yeah, almost identical battery but Apple really went out of their way to make life difficult with this one.
@@PBKreviews what is the actual battery capacity, how many milliamp hours does it have. I never trusted Apple’s battery estimates, I only trust teardowns. So how big is the battery?

I’d see what happens if you change the screens between both models rather than just one. So put the 3rd gen screen on the 2nd gen. Apple uses I think like 3 different manufacturers for their screens, some can be interchanged while others can’t or, like you’ve demonstrated, can have touch issues. By swapping the screens between the models, it might help to determine if it’s an issue with the new device, or an issue with the screens from different manufacturers.

hey there PBKReviews, 1.what happens if you disassemble the screen using the same tools but with out using (heat)? will the glass screen shatter? 2. can you take out the fingerprint reader without damaging home button? :)
Hi! I've been repairing consumer electronics for eight years so I can shine some light on this:- 1. The glass can shatter if you don't use heat as the splashproof/dustproof adhesive seal is very strong, however using thin tools such as the iSesamo will make your life easier and less risky! You don't need to buy an expensive hotplate, a basic hairdryer will get the job done. 2. Yes you can; the home button is held in with four screws and a small amount of double-sided adhesive tape on the flex cable section. As long as you use heat and take it slow, you'll be able to remove the home button without damage. Cheers, and have a wonderful day :)
Great video very informative. I was wondering if somebody could help me with this problem. I have a iPhone SE 2020 there is a small square bracket on the main logic board between the board and the tapic engine. I would like to know its function, there is an electrical contact point on it but it doesn’t seem to touch ground or any other electrical point. there is a ribbon from the charging port that sits on the tapic engine then this bracket sits on top and then it is screwed into place Could someone please enlighten me….thanks in advance Cliff PS….you held it up so I could see it
Excellent video. Thanks for risking the possibility of breaking the phone to educate us on some things. We didn’t see that the current SE 2 screen worked after you reassembled it. You sure you didn’t cause pry damage to the screen from misusing your plastic pick? Or that you may have ripped the cable? The pick wasn’t intended for prying on connectors, it was intended for cutting adhesives and separating the screen from glue. We make sure our technicians use tools for it’s intended purposes because of these factors happening and to confirm that the screen simply doesn’t work backwards or forward compatibility leaves a few questions to be asked as mentioned above. Again, good video and great observation. We were cringing in our seat when you were talking about removing the board screws and didn’t mention the hidden one between the rear camera and Wi-Fi cable, Beneath the foam pads.
Thanks! I swapped them back and forth a few times to make sure there was no loose connection or any other issues, but same results. When I put the SE 2020 screen back on its original board, works perfectly fine, but when I put it on the SE 2022, it powers on and shows fine, but the touch works in the center better than anywhere else and the bottom corner I can't click on the i for the imei info and sometimes after many attempts it will register it. Basically the touch has issues. But there is no bad cable or connection, since I swapped the screen back n forth a few times to make sure. The SE 2022 screen works perfectly fine with its original board as well after the test, since I also considered the possibility of a short when I put the screen from the 2020 but no short or any issues like that, just compatibility issues. As for the screw, I think I showed all the screws that had to be removed, no? Or were you saying you thought I wasn't going to do it but then I did lol.
