I bought a stick, tried it out, called Ken and told him, I put that &hit on everything! Then I ordered two more sticks. 👍 I still have my favorite cutting oil at the drill press, but there are times when I'm drilling and I don't want oil flinging all over, Slick Stick works great at those times. Also, when drilling on vertical surfaces it doesn't run like oil. It does melt and become fluid when heated but you get a lot more of it where and when you need it, than regular cutting oil.
    Thanks Ken,
and everyone else that works there too! 😉

I purchased a Slick Stick last week rfom you, and it is all you say it is..plus more!!!
A wonderful product to be using on my CBN wheel I also bought from you...
I ordered on line on a Monday evening and Thursday Morning they were
both at my door, even though I placed two orders a few hours apart.....
the packaging was fantastic, I also bought 2 8" white aluminum oxide stone wheels
that came in the packaging and they were in perfect shape.....your wheels
are even better than what you say they are.....Best Wishes from Winter Park,, Florida, Paul
p.s. I did call on Friday to speak to a tech and get the low down on grit comparison....
they were very helpful and cheerful, even though it was such a minor question......
    Thank You Mr Rizzo....

When demonstrating how well this product works on the band-saw blade it would be very revealing to see a before and after demonstration. There are several other things that can effect how fast it will get through the log, like how new is the blade, how powerful is the saw, how well is the table lubricated. A before and after demo would be much more reveling. It is much quicker than my band saw but the saw is also a larger, more powerful saw than mine.

Ever since I bought a CBN wheel, I’ve agonized over the possibility that I might ruin the wheel by accidentally sharpening plain steel instead of high-speed steel. Looks like the gods have smiled upon me. I ordered mine just a couple of minutes ago.

Another great product from a great bunch of folks. One question - how does the slick stick react to the ceramic guides Laguna uses on their bandsaws?

I really appreciate this video. I have the Rikon grinder and your CBN wheels but didn't know how to clean the abrasive surface. I love Slick Stick and use it on several tools in my shop. Most recently I used a tiny bit on the platform of the grinder to allow my scrapers to slide smoothly. It works great on tool rests and the bottoms of turning gouges, skews and scrapers. Just a tiny bit does the trick.

I sharpened every chisel and plane I had. It got messy, but with this, a quick shot of wd40, wire brush and wipe right off. Use the wonder stick again and I’m good to go within about 15 seconds of cleaning.
Am I doing it right. Dunno. But the wheel was dirty, the wheel is clean, and I’m back to sharpening within about 35 seconds.

Sooo...is this the official OK to routinely grind plain steel on a CBN wheel as long as you are using Slick Stick. It seemed that that was the case because I didn't hear a disclaimer like "We don't recommend you use your CBN wheel to grind plain steel (aluminum, copper, brass, etc.) but if you do, here is how to clean and restore your wheel." Thank you and going to place my order shortly.

I know you're not putting a lot of the Slick Stick on the blade but I'm wondering if over time it will affect the material or adhesion on the two wheels?

    • @kenrizza4146
      @kenrizza4146 Рік тому

Hi Jesper- thanks for the question. PB blaster is a great penetrating oil so you may be able to find some of that as a substitute. The slick stick formula is a highly guarded secret and the manufacturer won't give us any info on that so I'm sorry about that part. All we know is that it has no petroleum or wax and is totally non toxic and non flammable.

Jay, I'm not sure what the brand name was but I purchased it from Banggood for about $60. It can be used free standing or hooked up to a computer to capture images and videos. We mounted it to our Kodiak System for examining the CBN wheels. Very happy with it.
