    When I lived in Paris, I typically went to Marche Popincourt (metro Oberkampf) open Tuesday & Friday. It was about the same distance for me to go to Bastille, but I just preferred this one. Plus, it's also a short walk from Canal St Martin, a great place to picnic.

    I’m in such aww of the manner in which the French display food. It’s like art! One can’t help but to want to eat good natural food. The opposite of the US’s view of food. I wish that the US could view food in such a way. Thank you for the video, it’s like I’m shopping with you until I get back to Paris! 🥰 💃🏽

    I’m glad Bastille Market is in #1!! I came across it in 2018 (while celebrating my 60th). We had fresh oysters and sparkling wine for brunch! Heaven! Paella looked pretty good too! Produce is top class!

    As someone who shares his life between Paris and the US I think your videos are spot on. Insightful, pleasant to watch , honest.
    PS: @Antoine the spice that you got on your Pita snack at Monge market is called SUMAC, and yes it tastes like a lemony thyme thingy😉

    Thanks for this! Markets are a good idea that I did not go to in the few times I've been to Paris - always rushing around. If I get back to Paris again, I will take time to enjoy places like the markets. That looks to be more fun than trying to squeeze in of so much "sightseeing" of landmarks.

    These markets make you wonder about the infrastructure of French food: The farmers, the artisans, the cottage industries, and the hard-working vendors themselves. It's not just the market but a lot of unseen economics leading up to this consumer experience. No wonder the little corner grocery stores were so tiny! People come to the markets for good fresh food and it's so available that they can buy it several times a week. . . . but I'm not sure if you could take that cheese back with you to the states on a plane. When I flew back, they had pretty strict requirements around food. Not sure but it's possible the bacteria in the cheese could contaminate American cheeses or bacteria somehow. Maybe it's largely political, but they were very strict.

    • @jacqueline8559
      @jacqueline8559 Рік тому +1

      Nothing can make American cheeses, bacon, chocolate, pretty much ALL "STUFF" passed under the guise of food , any worse in my experiences of it!
      It's Over-Processed, Synthetic , disgusting slops in general. I feel for any parent trying to raise Children on that repugnant dross, worse, in HUGE PORTIONS . Shameful in such a rich Country, but its certainly not known for good food
