Installing a eBay Snorkel On my Toyota Land Cruiser (100 series) wasn't that difficult, only part that was tense was drilling into the fender! Hope this video help on how to and not how to install it!
I finally ordered mine through amazon vender and installed it. because of you video I was very careful with the install and it was just perfect.NO MISTAKES. =).. but it takes serious BALLS to cut your fender man.. it was scary.
Nice video pal, you took the mistake you made well. I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night and would have to re-site it then fill those extra holes and spray the pillar 👍🏴
@@MisterMemo No worries, you did a better job than some snorkels I've seen for sure. I worked in heavy industry erecting the world's biggest wind turbines, still wanted to see a video of someone fitting an eBay snorkel on a Cruiser as any help is always appreciated. As I said you'll help a lot of people pointing out the bracket placement. 👍
Great video. I have a 1998 105 1FZ-FE & been wondering how there can be so much price difference for these snorkels. This video has helped to decide to go with the cheaper version. Also curious to know exactly what model / year your Landcruiser is? I love the mesh style engine grill which has the earlier fully written "Toyota", instead of the later "T" logo and horizontal slatted black plastic grill, which is how they were sold here in Australia. I'd like that grill on my car. Thanks for sharing this information
It’s all about branding. Unless they can prove the performance of each one but I don’t think these any facts on that. That’s why I went eBay one for my 1998. ua-cam.com/video/hfVjqpuIIlk/v-deo.html
Great video mate. So in the end, would you recommend a snorkel from eBay? Has this one served you well? Looking at buying an eBay one for my Ford Ranger, here in Australia 🇦🇺
Angel Montiel Snorkels, when used by vehicles with air-breathing internal combustion engines, sometimes allow limited deep wading capability for river crossing or amphibious landing operations, particularly in the case of tanks and other armored vehicles. In such cases, the snorkel supplies air for the engine. Basically a cold air intake lol
It’s not so much for water crossings on a truck like the Land Cruiser since the intake is already so high up but it generally speaking it allows you to get cleaner air when riding in conveys on dusty roads.
Those little nubbin' plugs for the inner fender are actually pretty cheap. I have the part number at home, will post it later. Think I got a bag of like 25 for less than $20. And always ALWAYS paint the edges. As someone who dealt with LOTS of body rust on his FJ60, you don't want to have to deal with it, worth the prep time to take care of it properly.
mizznfizz1 those suckers where popping like pop corn! I ended up ordering a kit from amazon full of different sizes. Still send over partner just Incase. 🙋🏻♂️
@@MisterMemo LOL.. yup.. I was trying to be super careful removing them when I replaced my antenna mast and broke just about all of them. They are thin plastic, being exposed to the elements like they are they just get brittle easily.
@@MisterMemo Ok so they were from amazon by AUTEX... however link is now dead.. They are a Fender Liner Fastener Rivet Push Clip Retainer Nut for the 98-07 LC/LX470

Mister Memo I see the snorkel came with rivets but I didn't see where or if you used them?
@@illustriouslaz The revets are for the A-pillar bracket. Sorry it got late on me that day

@@MisterMemo cant you drill out the the three grommets and flip it around and put them back in. Still looks great.
@@treksportoutdoors yes, I could have removed the rivets and redo them but the holes in the fenders wouldn’t have aligned up any more.
