wow.... nostalgia just kicked me in the head when I saw this.. I remember seeing this commercial all the time back then.. good old memories... always loved the "plug" plugging in graphics too..
This weekend's plans. Go to Sam Goody on Friday, then to The Warehouse on Saturday, and finally make a pitstop at Circuit City on Sunday. (sigh...I wish it was 1996 all over again).
Worked at Circuit City for 6yrs as a “sales counselor”. This commercial played on a loop in our store. So many memories. Met the love of my life working there.
My childhood commercial right here this brings back memories from my time, I'm that 90's kid growing up, I used to see this every time there's a commercial break, VCR's where expensive back then I'll never forget that, and all that classic technology from those days boom boxes, walkman's, video cameras, portable CD players, blank tapes, you name it all. I miss those days, I'll never forget those days and Circuit City will be forever missed.
Ahhhh, takes me back to my childhood days. Circuit City and Radio Shack will always and forever be the best electronic stores for me!!!! I love these vintage CC commercials from the very early 90's. Commercials back in the 80's and early 90's were the best--lots of effort, art, and elegance put into them unlike today's commercials--FULL OF CRAPOLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm only 27, but I'm not an Iphone or I technology crazed finatic-I love more the classic technology of yesteryear. Sorry but I don't think the Ipod will ever hold a candle to the Walkman, CD player, or especially the Boom Box.
+materialgirl8707 Me too my childhood commercial right here I used to see this every time there's a commercial break, technology from back in the day and VCR's where expensive back in the day I'll never forget that, I'm also that classic technology growing up, I miss those days.
Notice how all these pieces of technology from back then actually brought family and friends together instead of separating them. Remember the family phone--yeah that's pretty much obsolete or very rare now thanks to all the infinite variety of cell phones and advanced technology. I remember the good old days when people used their landline phones to call family or talk to their friends for hours on the phone and when it was so fun to eavesdrop on your older brother's or sister's conversation. I remember when it was so exciting when mom and dad brought home a new t.v. from CC and you experienced the thrill of watching your favorite NBC comedies and TGIF on ABC and Saturday morning cartoons with your family back then. Those were definitely the sweet old days and I sure as Hell miss them.
Thanks for the kind words. Those were definitely the sweet old days my friend. It breaks my heart that there is no more Circuit City or Radio Shack. The 80s and 90's had the best technology--no dehumanizing unlike today's and they brought family and friends together.
Christ your username couldn't possibly be anymore ironic. XD But jokes aside, I totally get what you're saying. Values have gone spiraling down the toilet over the years. Look at black friday sales for instant. People gouging each other's eyes out to save $200 on a flat screen TV. Despicable! I remember the good old days too. Especially video games. Back when multiplayer meant sitting around in your room with all your friends playing the game together. Not sitting in your room alone shouting obscenities into a headset. :/
Oh you bet these were the pieces of technology that truly had heart.Walk Men, CD players, stereos, actual cameras (Canon, Olympus, Nikon--NOT CELL PHONE CAMERAS) and cam corders and boomboxes all had and forever have heart. No computer viruses or malware or anything dangerous on the internet to worry about back then (in fact; no internet yet) also no Facebook, Twitter or Instagram yet and especially no texting or cell phones going off all over the place yet and people going around the shopping malls or grocery stores talking, no, shouting on their cell phones as if they were in the privacy of their own homes that no one could hear their conversations. Yes, definitely; the technology back in these days was just plain fun and used for entertainment and relaxation. I find it more fun and relaxing to hear an MJ or Madonna CD on a boom box instead of being uncomfortable with a pair of Ipod ear phones in my ears.

They better use this song for the comeback.

This actually came out in late 1989 (but close enough to the '90s).
The original Best Buy before Best Buy.
I miss both Circuit City and Radio Shack. Two iconic pieces of American culture that have died. So sad. Shopping malls are the next to go.
I littelarly went to RadioShack 2 weeks ago and it's been the same for the past 10 years I've been living in this town.
Guess what? No need to grieve any longer because, in case you haven't heard, Circuit City is coming back!! :)
Yay! As a superstore?
as a fun size store! Didn't you know fun size is the new it thing?
I don’t know if it’s true, but Circuit City is now under new ownership and might be making a comeback this year. At least according to their website.
It is, they even put this video on their website!
Bring it back
I remember jamming to this song!!!

I miss circut city😢😢
Just watching the camera style surprisingly modern.

This commercial makes me want to fart in my hand and smell it. Really just breathe it in, like the good old days.
