Our mate Roothy has been using our rooftop tents for the last few years on Milo 2, so when he told us about the new Mahindra Ute that he is setting up as a touring rig it wasn't hard to convince him to upgrade to the AX27!

Love the fact that you have a solar on top. Having looked at all roof tents, this has to be the Rolls Royce, of roof top tents 👍👍👍. Great work Dean

Love it, but I don't understand, why black?
Wouldn't it get pretty hot in there at the end of a day driving in 40 degrees plus?
Amazing piece of gear though, maybe I can afford one some day.

I wondered the same thing. If it's insulated it wouldn't matter so much, but I'm not sure if it is. Maybe they can respond here. Cheers.

@@thelighthousekeepers8177 Yes, the tent is insulated on the floor and the roof with marine grade carpet. Unless you use the tent during the day for sleeping the tent will return to normal temperature by the time you go to bed in the evening as the entire tent is aluminium making heat dissipation very efficient.

Are there any plans to come out with a smaller hardshell fold out tent that can fit on a tub rack on a back of a ute?

What is the roof load capacity for the mahindra pick-up dual cab 2022?? I cannot find this information anywhere not even In the owners manual.

Just quietly thinking, how would you get in if had it loaded, would side access be better? Could build a nice canvas cover off it with a man hole to get in.

Hi Shane, the tent can be accessed from both sides as well as the rear.

What about price and availability on parts?
Unfortunately, Mahindra have made it so that you can only buy genuine parts from a dealership.
So, unless you have a dealership in your town you will have to freight in the most basic parts.
You can't even buy an oil, fuel or air filter from Repco or any other filter supplier here in Australia.
As a mechanic with 35 years plus experience and owner operator of a workshop it doesn't matter how inexpensive a vehicle is if you can't readily access basic servicing parts especially if touring around Australia.
I rang Mike Carney Mahindra Townsville today (T'vlle approx. 190,000 population) for price and availability on oil, air, and fuel filters as well as front brake pads. The most basic parts you need to service your Mahindra.
The outcome was only an oil and air filter in stock. Fuel filter and front brake pads 3-5 business days. To rub salt into the wound $353.14 for all the above - $217 just for a set of front brake pads. I can buy Bendix brake pads for just about any other vehicle mentioned below at less than half that price.
And supply has nothing to do with the dreaded flu and related issues either as you just don’t’ have this problem with Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi or Mazda who allow rights to have non genuine basic parts manufactured and then sold throughout Australia.
    Just saying.
