There are so many people littering here in Florida. I'll drive on the highway and people will just dump shit out right there, all kinds of stuff. I hate it, gives me severe road rage. I have reported it a few times, but they never do anything, even when offered video and license plate information. They just say thank you, we'll look into. SMH.
The resources for that are extremely limited. There is about 1 officer who works in environmental crimes per sherrifs department. It’s not a police department issue and not a main issue for FWC either. It’s unfortunate, but the environmental crimes detective for your county is probably hard at work to do bigger busts on things like construction sites dumping their debris illegally, than single people throwing out a few bags. Saw her out there pulling envelopes from trash so she could go to addresses and fine people for dumping their trash. But she admitted to me they don’t get much time for smaller jobs like that. Gotta figure out who in your country actually handles that and if you ask someone and get the answer “call the non emergency line” they probably don’t know what they’re talking about and just giving a general answer
Few weeks ago I helped a friend clean out his garage and his parents. Basically a small trailer full of trash/junk. We spent half the day Monday finding a legal disposal site and kept getting price quotes for $270, $300, $345. We finally just paid the $270 to be done.
