My oh my--how I enjoy Tuesday afternoons when I can take in the new millcast! Three projects at a time seem best to this knitter: one 'lives' in the car so I'm never without some knitting when I'm out and about, two different ones stay home --one small, one not, ideally an autopilot project --like socks or a hat--and a 'pay attention and learn something' project. Thanks for keeping the knitiverse vibrant and inspiring!
Peg, your torkel is so pretty with those lovely colors Amanda, congrats on finishing the long project, with a gorgeous sweater! The plans for Maeve’s intarsia sweater sound fabulous. Once again ladies, thanks for a great show!
Always love watching the millcast especially after having met you two in person. Well done on getting the cone winder in operation. The blue yarn is gorgeous. Lots of laugh out loud moments, especially Peggy’s expression when Amanda said the cone could be used for medical implants.
There is always so much going on with you!!! Never a dull moment. I never miss an episode:) Amanda, I am so curious how you will solve your fit issue. I have no doubt that you will! Peggy, that torkle!!! That turned out amazing! I like to have at least three projects going - usually a sweater, something easy like a hat or sock and something with a new technique that I am learning (currently brioche). My hands don't get as sore if I vary what I am working on.
I always have socks on my needles. I also feel lost when I finish a project and have nothing to knit on. I love your millcasts and feel that I’m joining you on your entrepreneurial journey. Loving every step of the way.
Well, it’s safe to say it’s not “My Favorite Things” sweater for Amanda yet😂😂😂. I love my Favorite Things Knit Ware. The patterns are a modern take on the classics. I’m glad to hear about your cone winder. I’d actually like to buy the fiber undyed on cones. Keep us posted!🌸🌸🌸
Congratulations on repairing your bobbin winder! I myself am definitely a Polygamous knitter and currently have about 4 projects actively on the needle and another 4 sitting in the naughty corner that will be re-activated in a month.
Love you guys! You always put a smile on my face. BTW - hay anxiety is real. Somehow, my hay guy managed to get some second cutting in between rain showers last week (western NY), so I can relax now, but I feel for you.
It’s so ironic - you have no hay because you’ve had too much rain. We have no hay in Maryland because we haven’t had enough rain. I always enjoy your millcast - thanks for doing it!
I love the mill cast, thank you. I have too many wips. But I always have a pair of socks going. Very portable. Love the knits you all are doing. Thank you again. I am not going to any local festivals this year. But Planning to get some in next year.
Another interesting episode with beautiful knitted projects! I have no more than 2 different projects on my needles: one of them is usually more complicated or too big to bring with me when I leave home and the other one is usually a plain vanilla sock that I can bring anywhere.
Peg your Torkle came out great! Amanda have faith - blocking works wonders. Looking forward to seeing Cody's sweater. I max out at six active projects - more than that stresses me out. I always need a no-brainer to work on - its usually socks.
I typically have 3 projects: a sweater for myself, a Grandbaby knit and something else (hat, shawl, toy). I've found that this prevents the loss of interest with a project, particularly if there is lots of stockinette or it becomes challenging in another way.
Thanks for the VSJF shout out for our coaching program 🙌🏻 I’m starting my Rhinebeck sweater in all Junction Fiber Mill yarn! Winter Woods by Jessica McDonald. Also having another go at a Torkle - my first one was a bit wonky! I got off count without realizing it but decided to just wing it! Have fun in Saratoga- I was there last week to see family too 😊
I hear you Amanda, I have 11+ projects. If I get my fibro fog, I need to change yo a project I know or is easier to follow. Also, spin, but you didn't ask about that 😂
Have noticed with most top down sweaters, the neck never sits properly. Has that stretched horizontal roll. I have knitted the No. 12 sweater by My favourite things in a broken rib. Did exactly the same with the neck which I had to fold over to the inside and sew to make it sit properly.
Amanda, I've seen that sweater on a number of people and I think it has a drafting error. On most EVERYONE I've seen, it has that weird fold under the front neck. The front neck curve needs to be deeper. These days, most folks have "forward" necks anyway due to all the screen/phone time. I'll be surprised if you can block that out, but good luck! (Otherwise, I think that sweater is great and will mostly block out well. Not sure that you can fix that weird neck fold, though.)
I hope you'll consider selling cones of DK to us handknitter. I require more than 1500 yards to make a sweater. I'd love to be able to purchase cones of your yarn.
The longer you wear the sweater, the better it looks!

Vicky is doing great and I absolutely applaud her for trying out the Sjal!!!! I can't wait to see it in the Seacoast!

That cone winder is super cool! Makes me want to get a loom again... And the Tørkle looks incredible! Awesome Millcast!
Vicki's handspun looks machine spun, incredible! Hope the see more of her knitting ❤

Peggy would not be a good poker play! (And that's Peggy writing this comment!)
How interesting!
I love the colors of your torkle, absolutely gorgeous. Great job lady!!
Thank you so much!

Hi neighbor! Where in MD? We’re in southern MD. Yes, it’s quite dry down here.

I hope you’re planning on being at The Fiber Festival of New England. I won’t be able to attend Rheinbeck this year. Yes! You will be! See you there!
Hi Jannie, yes we'll be at FFNE!
As for WIPs, I try to have at least two going at a time, one on smaller needles and another on 2-4 size larger needles, to give my hands a break.

Try Kraemer Yarns in Nazareth Pa for cones
Will do!
@@junctionfibermill Where are you going in Italy? Need a translator?
