I love every trend you are predicting!!! They are all refreshing and the simplicity of it all and the natural looks are a breath of fresh air. Might pick a few of these ideas up even if they aren’t popular at the moment
I disagree! Single color looks have ALREADY been THE trend since 2019 with the Graphic eyeliner and euphoria editorial inspired looks and single simple shimmers such as Urban Decay Space Cowboy. With the nostalgia around 2000s, 2014-16, indie sleaze and twee that has been getting popular since about 2022, whats gonna be popular is more classic glam complex looks. Grunge inspired looks are slowly winning over the ever so popular Clean Girl makeup. The rerelease of the Naked Palette or the MAC anniversary lipsticks only support this. Same as colored mascaras. Theyve BEEN trending!! I do agree that brands are starting to respond to customer demand of cool toned shades. Hopefully everything stops being peach toned and we get not only more undertone freedom but more daring shades in lipsticks and other products. Clearly frosted and satin lipstick have been getting more popular and so that seems the organic step up from the sheer lip tints, oils and balms that have been all the craze. One hundred agree with your hair opinions. Slicked buns and pony tails are being, and will continue to be, replaced with loose braids and buns, or nothing at all. I think this effortless sobriety will apply to hair color, too, in the sense that graphic visual patterns dyed onto buzzcuts wont be in. I do see, though, things like raccoon tails and extensions being big, because scene and emo are getting a big comeback.
I’d say that indie sleeze, IS the “quiet statement” type of look I’m talking about. The indie sleeze thing prioritizes simple makeup looks that have a lived-in look and are an extension of clean girl makeup. When you take the no-makeup-makeup looks we’ve been having since 2020 and add the messy smoky eye/trademark indie sleaze elements on the undone base, that’s exactly what I’m talking about! Indie sleaze is still effortless looking, with a more natural base look, but with pops of something happening on the eyes or the lips. So I think that these things are more connected than they initially appear to be! Love the discourse!!
I agree “classic glam” is coming back but not the 2016 way. I see it being more of a simplified version. Gradients/blended colors were generally always popular with glam looks, but the general population no longer prioritizes wearing glam like in 2016 and people tend to stick to “signature” makeup looks that are fast these days. I see the potential to ramp back up to people prioritizing glam for the day-to-day, but this will not be next year in my opinion. I think next year we will see the rise of the quiet statement as people begin to experiment again. Then possibly the more done-up looks will trend following that. I don’t see these makeup trend revivals like the naked palette coming back being a full cultural shift to incorporate more complex eye looks in the near future personally :) If anything, when I saw they re-released the Naked palette, I thought oh no, Urban Decay must be getting desperate. They haven’t had quite the commercial success or virality of other brands and they aren’t innovating in alignment with what the public currently wants!

I gotta admit i cant imagine the general public doing hour long cut creases every morning either! Im so excited for more experimental looks to come back, though!
