I am looking forward to the cruise on December 22, 2014 to South America. Has anyone taken this trip before with HAL? I've read so many reviews…most good…some bad…but rarely have I found an outstanding one. I hope I'll be able to write an outstanding one after our return. We've been on Holland America some 10 years ago and it was great. The crowd was mostly retired couples and today I am retired. So we are hoping for some pleasant surprises.
That itinerary should be fantastic! While we haven't sailed on the Zaandam yet, we can tell you from our day tour that the ship was a great one. Bon voyage!
I've never cruised (or travelled much for that matter) and I'm looking all over online and it just seems like all cruises are for either the elderly and sleepy, the young, drunk, and horny, or for 30-something couples with 5 kids in tow. I'm none of those things. Well, I'm in my mid-30s, but I want to travel alone, I don't drink/party, and I'm more interested in relaxing, eating, and learning about the places I'm seeing than anything else. I can't stand children either. Maybe do some sort of activities onboard, but it seems like the type of line that has that would be either Cunard (all old people) or Seabourn (all rich people). I have about $5000 to spend, so Seabourn's out. I know, I know...go to a travel agent.
I have sailed this ship twice and I loved it.
I am taking this cruise to Alaska in May 2015.
hopping on this ship on the 19th to Alaska. Love the whole music theme.
Bon voyage!
Going in June from Boston to Canada 🇨🇦 Montreal!
I'm leaving in three days for the reverse of this trip, from montreal to boston
