Franz Schubert was one of the greatest composers of all times, an authentic genius of exceptional prolificacy. Many of his works were saved thanks to Robert Schumann, who, after his death at a very young age (31 years old), found the scores in Franz's house, which his brothers had thrown into a large bin. In fact, almost none of his works had been published during his lifetime. Franz did not know success and survived only thanks to the help of a few friends. Only long after his death was his genius recognized and exalted. Thanks to Klára Würtz for this emotional rendition of two between his most known piano sonatas.
There's a spiritual/ethereal, almost supernatural element here that connects inextricably well with Schubert's highly intimate--yet furiously enraged--world and overarching consciousness.
