I guess I'm pretty randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to stream new series online?

Thank you so much for this analysis. I identify with April very much, it´s true that patients do a lot of "testing", and people react impulsively, re-enacting the trauma, which is what we DON´T want, but it happens, so one gets more and more cautious around people. A dilemma!

This is a tough call because of the timing she has come to see him doesn't allow for him to take too much time to build trust and rapport before exploring what her various options are. As we see in the future episodes where she gets weaker and weaker and he is forced to make decisions such as go to the hospital or not with her or tell her mum where she is. Plus he has no idea what she has come to therapy for until she writes it on the paper. The physical affect on her will not wait until the ideal time surfaces for him to challenge her so in this case action, is vital to help her. Is he suppose to pretend she is not dying and risk never getting to the challenges that could help extend her heath and life span because she is too ill to come and actively take part in the sessions.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a website where I can watch the entire series, starting with season 1, episode 1. I was introduced to this series accidentally, and I love it.
I would like to watch it for free, without the commentary (even though I think the speaker's opinion/editorial is dead on)

    "Nine weeks? That's not long."
That's a strange thing to say, since that would be longer than the duration of his own patient session per season. Alas, the fourth wall.

My favourite character. And Yes, he maybe shouldn't have acted like that..

But all in all, I agree with him, even though I wouldn't have told her mom what she didn't want to. Maybe.

I think that´s the point of this episode (and the inner conflict within the therapist) and his relationship with April .. he has a very hard time not acting as a parent (I think he mentions this a couple of times in other episodes with Gina. I think this episode is meant to leave us with the question ¿In serious cases when life or death of the patient is at stake , should we act as therapists or as human beings/parents ? That´s what I think this episode represents at least

Well if you are a medical doctor you should act like one. When someone has cancer you refer them to an oncologist.

Why did he act this way? It's not logical because obviously she hadn't told anyone, not even the nearest persons - about the cancer. So he first has to find out why not.

@ControlMastery Maybe. But perhaps he is rellying on the knowledge that he knows he already gained her trust. And besides that, he is obviously involved in April's story, and is clearly attached to her somehow. This approach would probably have worked better in another session... but not on the first =P

I am not claiming I am an ideal therapist and that what I am about to write is the only correct way to approach this particular situation; I'm just expressing how I perceive the session could have resulted in a more favorable outcome. I don't think the therapist handled the situation in a professional manner - or at least not in the ideal professional manner. By telling the client - one he has yet to build a rapport with - what he thinks she should do he is not only instilling his values into t

John Travolta's wife had cancer. Olivia has cancer. Psychological commentary here may be simplistic.

The actress playing April is not very talented. All I hear is acting and a script.
